Hey guys, do you Gem Beasts have to be on the field for them to be put in the Spell/Trap Zone, or say could I destroy two of the for the effect of Graceful Charity and put them there? I've seen spoilers from different sites and there different... Please feel me in here... Thanks, and doesn't Rare Value kinda make these guys the bomb by itself?! LOL
Is this a good enough number of them to run 3 copies of Rare Value, I really really want to take full advantage of it... As it is basically a Pot of Greed because your not really loosing anything when you sacrifice the Gem Beast...

Based on the translations that Belgian Blue posted, Gem Beasts don't need to be destroyed on the field, they just need to be "destroyed". However, they won't work with Graceful Charity because Graceful Charity doesn't destroy anything, it just discards 2 cards. Right now, the only cards that can "destroy" cards in your hand or deck are:

Because you'll be loading your spell and trap zone with them anyway, you may want to run less spells and traps and more monsters. If you are running 22-25 monsters in a gem beast deck, it can't hurt to up the countof gem beasts. my core right now is 17 gem beasts and 2 Hamon.
There are also 2 tributes in FOTB that I think were made just for the Gem Beasts:
FOTB-JP029
Magna Slash Dragon
Light/Dragon/6/2400/1200
Send a face-up Continuous Magic card on your field to Graveyard, destroy a Magic/Trap card on opponent's field.
FOTB-JP030
Gravi Crush Dragon
Dark/Dragon/6/2400/1200
Send a face-up Continuous Magic card on your field to Graveyard, destroy a monster on opponent's field.
Question: by "Permanent Magic card" does it mean a Continuous Spell card or a Spell card that can't be specifically destroyed? I'm guessing it would be the former, but I don't know what Japanese translations equate to.
Those Dragons kinda do seem to fit now don't they?! LOL... So... I need about 4 more Gem Beasts huh? All the rest of them kinda seem lame though... I can use another Mammoth I guess though... And another Carbuncle couldn't be all bad I suppose either... These guys do seem to rock though...
yeah, and if the rumors of the ban list are correct, you'll have to drop a pegasus as well. Keep in mind their effects don't always have to be super, just additional monsters that go to the back row so you can abuse your continuous traps with hamon and the other cards mentioned. You aren't trying to win off gem beasts alone. Also keep in mind, you can afford to run up to 25 monsters. I mean you won't have room to set cards a lot, you don't need things to focus on RFG or graveyard, since these monsters will rarely go there, etc.
On topic, what do you guys think of Shining Angel in a gem beast build in order to pull and trigger Ruby Carbuncle?
I think I'd like to wait for rulings, to know whether or not you can even activate it's optional trigger effect in the damage step ... Otherwise using Shining angel would be sort of stupid :p
I guess that's what I get for reading lots of fanlations.
Well, that's why I said wait for the rulings, but this is the text I have :
Quote
FOTB-JP001
Jewel Beast Ruby Carbuncle
LIGHT/Angel - Effect/3/300/300 When this card is Special Summoned, you can Special Summon as many "Jewel Beast" monsters from your Magic & Trap Card Zones as possible. If this card is destroyed, you can place this card face-up in 1 of your Magic & Trap Card Zones; it is treated as a Permanent Magic Card.
Has anyone also tried out this new monster from FOTB?
FOTB-JP028 Dweller in the Leyline
Earth/Dragon/3/1500/700
For each face-up Continuous Magic Card on your Magic and Trap Card Zone, increase this card's ATK strength by 300 points.
Another monster that was made to support the Gem Beasts. Think about it, only 2 beasts in your spell and trap card zone and this guy is equal to Cyber Dragon in strength, with 3 beasts it's already reached Monarch status (and getting Gem Beasts in the spell and trap card zone isn't exactly hard). At best it is as strong as a Blue Eyes, and that for a level 3 monster that can bypass Gravity Bind and Level limit Area B. What's your thoughts?
Yes, I like that one better than the others. This is more like bazoo. 300 a pop extra, for something that is already good for you. Almost makes you wish we get dark hole back :)
