They both look pretty good IMO, even if they don't win they atleast look like they'd be fun to play. I'll have to try them both out when I get a hold of an Eriabee Childs.
HL Kanazuchi and Merc SRM Batterys are both horrible units for their cost. The Giggens is good, but I'd put 2 HL SRM Teams in it, instead. This will leave you with 3 points in change... hmm... perhaps replace 3 Hoverbikes with 3 Purifiers to make up the change?
All right pansies, you all need a stern talking at.
First of all: yes, I believe the poII is garbage, but it all depends on how you play it.
Second of all: I've noticed that everyone but one person is ignoring the biggest asset Joel has over Caden: point cost. You get basically the exact same damage values and a better attack platform on the Zeus than you get on the Ryoken II for a lesser price. This equals more peasents for meat shields.
Thirdly: Despite Caden's handicap of having a bad heat dial and the supposed handicap of having hardened armour, you're all missing the picture. The mechs with AP have to also deal with Caden's support, and his hardened armour just prevents infantry from being that much more of a pest. With the huge ballistic damage at a closer range, he just mows down the infantry trying to tie him up.
Finally, the highlanders long tom. It is so totally not for precise artillery strikes, it's for creating pressure on your opponent and directing their movements to your advantage while they worry about little cardboard discs on the table. That's the whole point of artillery.
With that said, I'd like to put in my two cents for the army.
Dump the pos and keep the AA. If you want to, see what you can do with replacing them with a donar and some peasents. I personnally would also dump the HBS as well. Yes, yes, they're some bang up units, but I believe the HL Cavaliers would do an exellent job of backing up your 450 pt army. Your army is all about suppression and attack. You're not going to want you infantry out running Joel on the field and have him accumulate unneccisary heat. The Cavaliers strike just after Joel and pack quite a puch while doing so.
