Heartless...and just plain idiotic. The entire conversation was aimed towards "informing" the players of their decision..not to even "HEAR" what us players have to say..
No.
*Dons Doom Ninja Costume and stalks the next person who says yes*
The "official" DOOM ninja kills incapacitates Xiao. The purpose of the ninja is not to be biased. It is to enforce the pain on fools who want to rant in this thread. The whole purpose of this thread is to see what the number of yes is to no. I will add in my "no"
So far I am seeing a MUCH greater response of no, or unbiased, which is not a yes. Looks like the statement this thread was founded for is incorrect.
this retirement thing is what separates teh people who buy MW to win a few free pieces of plastic, from the people who play to collect and have fun. [excludes teh people who collect to sell... thats just annoying]

To quote Lee Corso, 'Not so fast, my friend!' ;)
Playing to have fun and collecting can be mutually exclusive. I'm
proof of that. I realized a LONG time ago that I just don't have
the disposable income that would be necessary in order to get
EVERY piece from EVERY faction from EVERY set.
Just like I don't have the disposable income that this insipid
retirement plan requires.
This just means that I will stop any form of "competitive" play, since I'm not willing to keep up with the nonsense....
In some sense, I think they're trying to fix the wrong problems, as usual...
On the other hand, I was getting sick of competitive play anyways, given the "cheese-of-the-week" syndrome and frequent rule changes to address said syndrome.
This just gives me the excuse to play only with friends now, for enjoyment purposes only. Which probably means I will enjoy the game more again.
And means I'll spend a *hell* of a lot less with Wizkids  Their loss...They're really gonna have to come up with some good stuff to get my interest now.
and watch out what you guys say. kenjelly said some nasty stuff and has vanished so keep down the tone because there is a 0 (zero) tolerance for wiztopps name calling.

Even though I clearly asked everybody NOT to put opinion in here, it is inevitable I suppose.
To give response to your position, the only people I play MW with have jobs, lives, and school, just like me. We can only get together on the weekend at a venue. Prizes are just a fringe benefit.

Yes. I like the idea. It may have repercussions from the knee-jerk crowd, but what else is new?
I am surprised that more of you don't like this:
-Less "degenerate" armies staying around forever
-Ended prospect of infinate power-creep
-More, newer players, who aren't worried about having to catch up with the Joneses
-Weeding out the crazies, complainers, and people who are in the game for the wrong reason
I see very little bad about this. Only thing that I can find slightly inconvienient is maybe having to bother to buy singles instead of boosters at a later date to get specific units. So it goes.
