What ARE you smoking? You're not an SC player, so leave the
ganja alone, man! Do you really believe that pap? That's one
serious case of denial you have, there! :cheeky:
1. First, eleven months is NOT a long time. The game has been broken one way or another since the release of Bart Bradshaw and Kenneth Medchelke before the first world championships. Then, when we finally get the artillery rules, infiltrate and charging almost fixed we get a broken artillery piece. 11 months will be ZERO time to actually play the game with all the units in a non-broken environment.
2. I bought cases of figures to get transports for my army instead of ransacking ebay. Now, tank drop is still going to exist, but if I want to be able to use it I have to hunt for DF Garrots after the Maxims disappear. Naked money grab. Also, there is no way to predict how loss of Maxims and Saxons will alter game play.Depriving infantry of their best vehicles for getting upfield against artillery is only go help the ARROW IV players.
3. After the next release Padillas will be gone and the ONLY playable artillery will be the SS arrow IV.
4. In my area, all play is Venue play, and friendly games are viewed as practice for venue matches. All the games are friendly, the gamers are great; but the universal interest is competitive play for ranking and glory.
No one is going to waste an evening of potential Nationals practice time to come play ICE mech with me.
5. Support for Unrestricted events is a joke. WK provides ZERO support for unrestricted events now, so their statement that they will continue to support these events is BS.
6. Many factions, and WK has sponsored BIG TIME FACTION PURE EVENTS, are screwed by the loss of high quality infantry from the earlier sets. The rapid banning of Kaga and Shock Troopers will force players to buy new infantry just to be able to play.
8, Faction Wars now turns out to have been thievery. WK promotes this tournament to the hilt, with a format that makes you go out and buy multiple pieces from the earlier sets; then, Ha Ha, you bought it we banned it!
9.Finally, THIS WILL HURT NEWCOMERS TO THE GAME EVENTUALLY. Why? Because when older sets were allowed you could search for competitive pieces in older or newer sets. Now, you will be left searching for competitive pieces from just the newer sets. Supply is reduced, costs go up. And, what if new pieces are not competitive compared to the old-like most of the transports and infantry.?Older players will already have compeititive pieces from sets about to be banned. New players will either have to find competitive pieces from the newer sets; or put your money up for pieces which may only last 6 months, ha ha on you as you pay premium money for Maxims that will be banned in 1 month.......
I agree with all points except point 2 (and that's just a minor
one). Don't forget about the Zahn Heavy Transports. The Merc
version has become my cap 3 transport of choice! Those
will still be available, as well. ;)

One of the reasons it is nice to have a large a pool of units as possible to choose an army from. This proposal will just reduce the pool of units available to players.
