Also i type fast sometimes and never use spell check that often so stop picking on my grammer and post something about the game. P.S. I know it makes me look stupid if i have bad grammer but i don't care ok.
me experience with kids, is that they whine, cry, throw tantrums, do not stay focused, drag out turns, want to touch everything, etc.
Well, at least more then adults do. For every wargame I've played, I've never found a kid I've enjoyed playing. I always regret it in someway. Some how they never fail to screw the gaming experience up. Chalk it up to lack of maturity, or whatever you want to call it.
Sure SOME adults are like that, it's just that I've found ALL kids are like that.
I have no problem with 'kids' playing. Age has no bearing on skill.
I've gotten my arse handed to me by younger players and by older players.
I've also played some whiney, slow, obnoxious, easily distracted ADULTS. I've seen adults freak out when they lose a piece or when I do something unpredictable. And I've seen kids do this too. Really age has no bearing, it's all about mental maturity.
Like I said, I have no problem playing kids, but I really don't like playing the immature.
I started playing RPG's when I was 7. That was 20 years ago.
I cannot tell you whether a kid is going to be a good or a bad player. The same for an adult.
I have seen kids getting sulky and dispondent over poor luck in a game, and I have seen the same in many of the adult players, even myself. No one likes to have their carefully constructed plans rubbed into the dirt.
As far as kids playing better than adults, I would not like to make generalizations about that simply because someone is part of an age group that does not make them cookie-cutter copies of all the others in the age group.
While I am not the best player in my group, I am also not the worst, yet a 9 year old and a 13 year old both whupped me two weeks in a row, while I could not seem to do anything to them.
It does not matter how old you are, or how much money you've spent on your pieces. What matters is the dice. All the tactics in the world cannot win you the game if you only roll 3 ones all game.
Maniac is one of the reasons that I posted this message in the first place. He is judgeing all kids that play by sauing we are all sore losers thats all l have to say because if I said anymore then I think some people will be offended.
I agree that kids generally have more time to learn units and strategy. It's not always true that adults have more money. Kids have a lot of disposable income if they work even part time and live at home.
I've lost to a 14 year old and he played solidly. I take kids seriously when I play them.
