NO MORE DAVION! PLEASE! NO MORE DAVION CHEESE!
Oh God the last thing I want is more Davion.
Scratch that, the last THINGS I want is more Davion or Kurita.
CURSE YOU LIAO! WHY COULDN'T YOU HAVE WHIPED OUT THE WHOLE SCANDAVOL LEADERSHIP WHEN YOU HAD THE CHANCE! GAH!
Originally posted by darkarchon0 Personally I want to see the Com-Gaurds return. I was a long time playter of them before the clans came and then i fell in love with the ghost bears. I picture a high tech faction withloads of SE and stable stats until about the fourth or fifth click then they drop like a ton of bricks on jupiter.
I second that motion, although I don't agree on the implementation of their stats.
Seeing as how that wasn't an option though, I voted for House Davion and House Kurita
Steiner is on openly good terms with the Republic (remember all that free trade stuff on INN?) and the Stormhammers haven't even been fleshed out quite yet.
Kurita is just fine having the Fury as their avatars... they do not want to directly interfere with the Republic.
Davion would be my second choice as a faction to join in on the IS, but it seems that Sandoval has a grip on things right now and if I were WK I would wait until he's established his Swordsworn a bit more as a known force in the Republic.
Liao has already joined, which was the best way to go as the first true faction to join Mechwarrior.
Marik is my first choice, the Marik-Stewart Commonwealth (or whatnot) has a past with the Republic similar to Liao's (only smaller scale) and they're still out for blood, I'd imagine. That, and as has already been mentioned, the Oriente Protectorate has already been ceded some worlds in appeasement (and we all know how well THAT works) during the Liao Incursion (plus, I am an Orloff ^^)
and to respond to the Comguard argument, the Comguard no longer exists as a standing army (true) ;- the installations are protected by mercs, and thats pretty much it.
oh yeah, the WOB is dead, too. SCOURED from the Inner Sphere.
I voted for Marik, just cause I think it would be fun to play them. But I think that WK should bring the Lyrans in. Then we could get some real zeus mechs.
I am still praying for a return of the Warden Wolves/Kell Hounds, whatever ya wanna make us be. But I voted for House Marik out of loyalty to my youngest son, After 10 years he STILL has that House Marik purple Eagle pin stuck over his puter. He hasn't even played MW in I don't know HOW MANY years, but he still asks if they have "come back" yet? WK, see how the "old Loyal ARE?" haha

Clan Bun-Bun!
They primarily use HtH weapons and balistic.
Dials are short, but stats fall slowly.
Their signature stats and specials include evade, high speeds, high attack (all obvious), and decoy (sock puppet).

I know why...it's because those Davions have the hand of God on their side and are able to take gauss rifle slugs to the ehad of their mechs in the novels and still NOT DIE.
I am so glad that Stackpole hardly writes for BT anymore. He's so darned mediocre and 2-D.
I am very happy that the BT fiction finally started to get away from the "Capellans are bumbling idiots and Davions are Gods" thing.
Seriously, the Civil war would have been much better if Kat had murdered Victor in cold blood during the Civil War. Kurita would have gone after the Lyrans for that act since they were bed buddines with Vicky, and several Clans would have jumped in for posterity. The LA and FS would be in total disarray as a power grab would result, especially with the turmoil caused by the Free Skye Movement. The FWL would have renewed their invasion of the Alliance, and the CapCon/Concordat could have doubled in size after seizing Fed Suns worlds.
From there, the major powers (Free Worlds Alliance, Draconis Protectorate, and Capellan Confederated Suns) would live happily ever in war.
Man, that would be a MUCH more interesting background for the DA universe, instead of the "VICTOR LIVES!" plague that haunts us all. :: shudders ::
Besides, everyone wants the PURPLE mechs of the FWL!

I'm so glad it DIDN'T happen that way! ;)
Everyone knows that the Cappies aren't bumbling idiots. Sneaky,
dishonorable, and criminally insane, yes, but NOT bumbling idiots!
:p

See thats why I like Marik and Liao. They are not portrayed as perfect. They are kinda darker then the other, espcially Liao. Davion is so pure and nobel and perfect they are just no fun. And Victor is just portrayed as God's chosen warrior, being able to survive a gauss slug to his cockpit, and so nobel too! Sun-Tzu is much better thought out as a character, devious, sneaky, midly insane, but puts is people before all else. Good and bad traits.
Seriously, not to get killed or anything, but my favorite Great House go in this order, from most to least:
Marik
Liao (no hurting David!)
Stiener
Kurita
Davion

That's not nice, Leo! :p
Don't blame House Davion for that - blame Stackpole. House
Davion existed in the game long before Stackpole started
writing the novels. I've been a Davion fan since the first time
I played CBT (first mech I ever played was a Davion staple -
the Dervish! :) ).
House Davion is, and always will be, a major player in the BT
universe. My advice to you, and other Davion haters, is to get
used to the idea.
And STOP reading Stackpole - it'll just make you chafe! :p
