I'll purchase my normal 10-12 boosters when the set first comes out, and just pick up one or two every now and then, will get most of the ones I want from trades anyway.
There was a book I used last year for History Fair research called "The March of Folly." Look for the newly revised edition soon, containing information on Saddam's resisitance to the US of A and Wizkids' set retirement policy. :)
Hmmm, they'd better remove those boarding passes, if they release the cases outside the USA, people will be disappointed if they can't exchange for it. :(
Anyway, this may really look good as a set (except for the overthetopbirdlookingmech, IMO.)
Just waiting for the sneak peaks... mayhap to see if the high Attack/low defense rumour is totally true...
I've been playing DF since right after I picked up the game(and after ditching the Highlanders heh-heheh!), so high attacks and low defense is what I'm familiar with and it won't be much of a problem.
I'd rather hit what I'm gunning for than be protected against it myself.
Good, no set retirement yet. I hope they realize that if they announce set retirement 2 months after FP comes out (and the bulk of players have already bought their case or whatever) they'll have an angry mob on their hands.
Not sure what the grey base thing is all about. Not enough info to say if it is 20 (total, anywhere), 20 different units in the set, 20 per case, or what. I'm hoping on behalf of the obsessive-compulsive collectors that they arent totally different units that there only exists one each of.
I've heard the high attack/low defense rumor batted around by several sources as well so I'm fairly certain it's on the mark. With the nerf in arty finally I'm wondering what it'll do to the standard play.
If the other rumor is true that Agility will be retired when the first of the retirements happen then unless they seriously change how the unit stats are listed on the dials from now on this game will be nothing but massive amounts of tank-drop and charge. You'll never see a mech shoot in this game except on the rare occasion when a charge misses and the target mech goes and alpha-strikes in response.
If they plan to not do any further changes to the mechanics then the primary damage on mechs had better be the lesser of the 2 damage values on the mech (thus it will do less damage than it would if it were to shoot instead) ... otherwise there will be no point in ranged combat. Ever.
Ok, Raiders (and MkIIs) are ICE mechs. That is true. However, they are NOT Industrial Mechs. They are BattleMechs. The statement regarding Industrialmechs has nothing whatsoever to do with Raiders (and MkIIs). If fluff cost/availability for fusion engines wasn't what it is, I'm sure there'd even be fusion industrials. I agree that the smokestacks and buzzsaw arms and guns that look like leafblowers lend an industrialmech feel to them, but Raiders are BattleMechs.
I think that the grey-based LE units will be similar to the way they did it in MLB Sportsclix. They were just different moulds of the allstar players (Probably the elite units in MW?) otherwise having the same stats as the original. That's my 2 cents worth anyhow.

Or, if you do end up with a boarding pass, find someone on the forums that you trust completely, who is from North America, and send them the pass, and enough money to cover the shipping of the Dropship to you.
There's some of us here that would do such a thing for our fellow MW players.
@ brigand, you are correct, the Raider and the RaiderMKII are technically battlemech and so are the other ICEMKII 'mechs. Once they put weapons on them they officially became ICE BattleMechs.
My question is who else is going to get the other toad suits, and no i do not trust warzog worth half a fusionairre. Also i heard there was going to be a VTOL that was more Harrier style then huey. any ideas??

Actually, I don't think WizKids counts the MODs as Battlemechs (though they do count the Raiders as Battlemechs). For evidence, I point to when we were told that CounterAssault would have only one "Industrial 'Mech", and we got one MOD, and two ICE Battlemechs.
So, while Falcon's Prey will be the last set with an "Industrial 'Mech", it most likely won't be the last set with an ICE 'Mech. Personally, I don't have a problem with that, but I'm dreading the complaints that will inevitably arise when there turns out to be more than one ICE 'Mech in Falcon's Prey, or an ICE 'Mech in a future set. I fully expect people to complain saying that WizKids "broke their promise" even though they have never said there would not be more _ICE_ 'Mechs.
