This is an interesting proposal, but what should we designate this new army. I propose one of the following:

3rd Army V-lambda
The Emerald Falconeers

or

Terran Defense Force V-gamma
The Home Guard

Suggestions are welcome.


In my opinion, I believe that at this point, the ComGuard should form a war council and remain a mobile force. We cannot tell who are enemies or our allies really are, so settling on a planet might not be such a wise decision.

So how should I submit my TO&E?!! Should I PM it to Precentor Chance and Wolf, or should I just post it here. I will tell you that operationally I have only 8 Mechwarriors and crew for 4 tanks avalible. Will be enlisting more when I return to Skye.

Also Since we are starting from scratch, I belive we should Designate our army, the 13th Army; "The Homefront" This will give memory to the Armies that came before our rebirth.

I agree with the suggestion to designate the restored Comstar Level V as 13th Army, "Homefront" or "The Home Guard." Perhaps something like "Protectors of Light". If not for the 13th Army then perhaps my Division will become such. Final approval should come from the Precentor Martial.

Precentor Martial, I suggest that in addition to the Level V's typical 6 Level IVs that we reactivate the 472nd Division, The Invader Galaxy, in order to prepare our troops for the imminent aggression by Clan Jade Falcon. Perhaps we could recruit a galaxy commander from within our own ranks or from our previous allies among the Nova Cats.
We likely also need a unit designated for ROM special operations and intelligence gathering. Shall I place a request for commanders for these units?

Despite being currently less than a Level III in operational strength, the 79th has been designated a Level IV (Division) in order to facilitate growth from recruitment and other sources while deployed with little to no ill effects. A collection of mercenary or local security forces along with Republic militiamen that feel they have old ties to Comstar, the 79th has doubled its operational size in a very short period of time. While many of its members are untested in open battle, they have embraced the role of Comstar to serve as the Protector of Light during dark times. The first Level II of the unit was cobbled together from a few low-grade mechs of Star League vintage and a handful of armored infantry. This unit managed to defend their local HPG station from a probing attack by advance Liao forces on an out of the way planet. They then quelled an outbreak of civil unrest brought on by a Capellan-descended subpopulation after the swift destruction of a House Liao recon lance. In proper Comstar manner, the White Knights scored a public relations coup in aiding the outraged individuals to have their concerns addressed by the local government while convincing these protestors to find methods other than violence to voice their concerns. The unit has since broken out four other mothballed Star League mechs from a small Castle Brian under the HPG compound and upgraded the two original mechs with Star League technology.
Members of a small mercenary outfit passing through the system then joined the 79th as the Clan-tech outfitted mercenary lance followed its leader, who onced served a contract guarding an HPG station in a contested system and was impressed by the Order. Their lance was filled out with a fifth Clan mech and point of Clan Battle Armor suits when they successfully won a Trial of Refusal against a small Steel Wolves contigent for the inactive HPG station on planet.
With almost an entire quarter of the Republic under assault from without by LIao forces and within by a number of faction leaders, the 79th has taken to roving deployments. They travel from system to system, collecting data from broadcasts from each planet and dropping in force at any sign of invasion, unrest, or breach of the local HPG station. After achieving their objective, they spend a few days on planet performing service projects nad reconstruction, sharing news from the Sphere, and recruiting more members to their cause. They then lift off, in search of yet another conflict to resolve, both training and indoctrinating new recruits and analyzing the incredible amount of data for intelligence and clues to those responsible for the collapse of the grid and evidence of those who, because of duplicity or ineptitude, failed to protect the HPG grid, the string that binds the universe and civilization together.
The insignia of the new 79th is still under development.

Tough the 244th division was excommunicated from Comstar after their mass abandonment of post in the Fed Com Civl War, they continued to live on as a minor mercenary unit until they were wiped out in the Jihad. It was not until a True born decendant of the Elemental Body Gaurd of Vicotr Steiner Davion Read about the Loyalty and devotion of the 244th that it was revived as a mercenary company, partialy funded by both Wolfs Dragoons and the Kell Hounds. When a call for the Reformation of the ComGaurd Began, James Blaine (bearer of a minor Dragoons Honorname) Signed up Immediatly, devoting his company and a promis to find more equipmwnt for the Com Gaurd as a whole. He soon Lived up to this promise by unlcoking old Comstar Inventory Files and locating 6 Deep space outpost the Gaurd used to re-arm for their futile fight against the Blakist in the Jihad. As of right now the New 244th stands at three level IIs, one of them understrength. but as soon as more requrits come in fro command, and Blaines own scouting efforts, The hopes of feilding a full Level IV Mech battalion with Armor and Infantry support will come true.

You and I both. I Need an XO and a Lot of troopers. My individual Battalions equipment had 12 Kangas in it alone, just as many Guass toting demons (All Modded to have C3is mind you)
