and a ... Tempest ? with the legs of a Grand Crusader ? haha ...
Or it could be (with the drill on it's hand) ... an Excalibur !!! ohdarnit ...
and a 'mech with Razorback's looks , and a bearfaced 'mech with a missile mane . . .
and you've gotta admit ... the jumping 'mech looks like a sleeker version of an UrbanMech ;) it's not , but looks like one . Maybe Liao went on a diet ?
I figured it was for the distributors. I think someone said that when we got the Annhilation announcement before FI released. But I don't understand why they show us all this stuff here , for us players, instead of putting it wherever they do for the distributors.
Because it'd end up here anyway. There are more than enough players and battlemasters on this site that get or read distributor literature to blow any 'secret' wide open. Someone would post the text, or a scan, or whatever, and the same thing would happen (without, mind you, the pretty pictures WizKids gives us). Since the result is inevitable, WizKids saves us a couple of days and just posts it here anyway. They get to look good doing what was going to happen anyway.

Well, WizKids probably wanted to avoid certain reactions when people heard that distributors and the like got a view of what the next set had to offer. You know, this kind of response: WAH WAH WIZKIDS DOSENT CARE ABOUT US THEY SHOWED DISTIRIBUTORS STUFF AND IGNORED US WAH WAH. The mis-spellings and caps are intentional, by the way.
I like the jumping sculpt, I think. I doubt it's a vtol mech, though...if you look, there doesn't seem to be any way to attach that pole to the base. It must be glued on, so there's no means of representing NOE and cruising...I suspect it's just for looks.
I too think it is more likely that this is just for show, BUT I do think the final version in the booster will have a "socket" to put the pole in. Just because of size problems inside the boosterpack and better structural strength.
Anubis is a rejected Davion design sold to the periphery. It was originally intended to complement the Osiris, but Archenor turned the designers down cold. The designers then sold the plans to the periphery and the Cappellans made some improvements notably adding Stealth Armor.
The Midjump mech is not a Razorback, but it has the basic shape of one.
The Grey mechs are RD except the Madcat IV which might be Wolf or RD it lacks the Winter camo of RD mechs and has Grey, Red and Brown marking it either as a another RD experiance level or Wolf.
The winged Mech is a Cerebus. The Drill arm mech is something entirely new.
I think I figured out the "VTOL" mech. I bet the peg fits into the center of the clear stand. Or it a pre-production model and will be changed in the final release. They had to bring back LAM's for the old school Battletechers.
Looks like a Tau Crisis Suite in the upper right (don't hit me, you know it does) -- really not sure beyond that -- I'll have to do some TRO searching -- don't think it is a Razorback but I wouldn't mind...
Middle left mech in RD (I assume) colors has a close profile match for the Tempest TMP-3M which is a 65 ton Marik design from 3055
Middle right definitely looks like a coolant truck (tanker truck at any rate)
Obviously a Mad Cat IV but those colors don't entirely convince me it is a Republican mech -- I could see that as a Clan Wolf color scheme and we know that the historical mech in the Call to Arms prize pack for Domination is a Wolf-in-Exhile piece... -- Of course anything could be a gunslinger just to mess us up...
Lower right googly moogly looks like a RD assault mech but the killa drilla toy on the right arm is odd. I would also hate to have missle backwash hitting my cockpit viewports like this does...
Very interseting for the Bears. I like the jump effect for the other mech. The anubis is a pretty decnt litle mech also. The Madkat IV/MK II yeah i know what it is is,but the kept the sculpt to the MKII design. It still looks pretty sweet. It will be neat to see Wolve-in Exile come in ,even though I'm a Bear lover. Guess I'll have to buy a case so I have traid bate for my Bears. :p
If it looks like a chicken, and it acts like a chicken, it's not a duck.
Odds are that--if they went through the trouble to show a mech with a flight stick--its a VTOL mech.
Just because the socket is missing from the base, doesn't mean it won't be there in the final version.
As for the gray and white mechs, they are most definitely RD. They bear all the marks of being "totem" mechs. They even look a little ursuine.
I highly doubt it's a VTOL 'mech. There really wouldn't be any point to giving a 'mech the VTOL speed mode, they can already move and shoot, and they'd have to make a VTOL 'mech speed mode, if that were the case. Besides, there isn't a single Battlemech, as far as I know, that can stay in the air. They just wanted to show a "cool" 'mech sculpt, to get us excited. The RHD 'mechs sure do look like totem 'mechs, they remind me of Polar Bears a lot. Although, from the looks of things, besides Domination being all about the Bears, like we already knew, it looks like HS will be getting filled out some more. I wonder how many "very rares," IE. uniques, are in this set. They didn't mention that at all, the "super rares" are the LEs.
