Cool! Makes you wonder what a full feature film (with a bigger budget) could achieve.
The mechwarrior helmets look like they're from Star Wars, which are a bit too big imho.
Who knows maybe someone in Hollywood notices this, and mayhaps we can see Mechwarrior: The Movie in theaters within a few years.

Actually, the helmets in the film are smaller than the original neurohelmets of the
CBT era - those were so big and bulky, they had to rest on the pilot's shoulders.
Makes sense that tecnological advances, over almost 100 years, would make
them smaller. ;)
The movie looks GOOD, so far! Yes, the acting may not end up being what we're
used to. However, the love of the BT universe definitely shines through in the
CGI detail work and action sequences! This has me really STOKED!!! :)
I sure hope they release this so that folks, like me, who can't make it to GenCon
or Origins will be able to see the full movie. Now, if they show it at DragonCon, I'll
be able to see it. Regardless, I still want my own personal copy! ;)
all in all it was really great but I think that mechs look too stiff, they should have given them more fluidic movements, I understand that for "Alpha" and the Atlas as they are pretty huge to be fast movers, but even the jackalopes look like they are sitting targets.
I just looked again to be sure, and there's definitely something wrong with movement, they look like those cheap robots with spinning heads with light and sound, that walk forward clumsily. they should take a good look on mech movement in MW4 Vengeance cause they were impressive
I don't mean this is bad, don't get me wrong it's great someone has decided to make a movie out of this, but please fix movement

They're wearing full body suits too, instead of the traditional 'Shorts and cooling vest'. Looks like full coolant suits have become the norm now. That or they didnt want to get accused of cheesecake with the female pilots. :)
TrevorTheOkay, don't want to sound argumenative, but, it didn't look like CG human characters to me. It looked like a REALLY well done green screen. Maybe the shot where it pans in on Alpha and we see Ana in the cockpit is a CG but I doubt the rest.
As for the helmets, its amazing what Military Surpluss can do, the look like old HGU-33 flight helmats of Vietnam fame.
As for the stifness of movement, actually, I like that, especially in the Mangonel and Alpha, these are not elegent machines, or even Gundams we're talking abouit. They after all, it requires a neuro-helmet just to get the bloody things to walk upright. I think the slight stifness in movement really sells the fact that even the smallest of the shown Mechs, the 20-ton Jacks, are still massive warmachines.

Heck, think about this: The FASTEST Mech, the Firemoth(IS Name: Dasher) has a top speed, with MASC, of approximately 200 KPH, or approximately 125 MPH. The Savanah Master Hovercraft, the fastest unit short of Aerospace, has a whopping 230 KPH or 143.75 MPH top speed. So, let us consider that this means that on average, any of these could be out-run by any modern sports car. I think the stiff movement helps remind us that even the 20 ton Jackalopes with their 120 KPH, or 75 MPH, top speed are SLOW...
you didn't get me, have you guys seen the other movies they developped? take a look at them, like "nasa seals" there are some inconsistencies in the animations
WATCH MW4, that's how a mech walks and fights like!!
I know they are not dragsters but it is the animation routine that lacks... something
