Everyone wants the "super charger" eh? What if the Orc Captain had a movement of 14", w/ charge, it would move up to 28". How would everyone like that!!! It could be 232pts!!! With sweep!!! How great would that be!!!
Oh wait, if a figure like that were released, how many people would quit Mage Knight because of how powerful and broken THIS figure would be? Everyone wants Wizkids to stop these types of figures being released by how, releasing more of them? Where's the logic?
We just have to work with what we have, not try to re-invent the game.
Sorry, Colt45, it's time to reinvent the game. Go vote on the "player's choice" rules forum. With a few simple rules changes, the game could be much better. Additionally, Corpheus (and the Striker, and the Amazon Drac and Backus) make the game boring, and something ought to be done about them.
... or we could start to ban certain figures from tourney play and turn out like Magic, where you simply can't use certain items because people simply think they're too hard to defend against.
Actually, Phantasy, as much as a i love Captain Salidar, you're wrong... he's toast in any game other than dungeons. only 10" range [not 14" like you said, if it was 14" i'd play him], sure he has like seven clicks of ML and six of MB, and 14 attack is nice enough to hit an IRGH, but his range is crud. only 10" for a figure that costs one less than corpheus? i'd hate to say it, but i'd rather take corpheus...
and burn him! i hate corpheus, stupid bound ruined this game!
Down with bound!
Down with Bound!
Down with Bound!
Down with Bound!
Let's start a clan, guys!
GASMASK
[Guys Against Superfigs Moving Around Shooting + Killing]
I play these house rules to make the game a lot more fun:
Figures with bound can only shoot half their range value if shooting after moving.
Figures with bound fail to break away on 1s or 2s.
Ram now reads "If this warrior's front arc comes into base contact with an opposing figure this turn as a result of a move action given to this warrior."
It seems that some of you are missing the point that I brought up. It has nothing to do with how easy it is to beat one of the named Broken Figures. It has to do with the diversity of the game due to these figures... Ok, how many army at Origins were chariot armies? or HOST armies? or Striker armies? I think these figures are simply referred to as broken simply because they theirselves BREAK the game. The only decent chance anyone has to beat one of these typical armies is by playing another of the typical armies. The game contains no diversity anymore. At least in Rebellion there was no typical army other than the Storm golem or Hierophant, but even then it was learned to be beaten. And you didn't really have to play a SPECIFIC army to have hope on winning.
I know that Corpheous is pretty powerful, but if you play your formations right you can bring him down. I play EL and use 4 red woodland snipers with 1 elven demi-magus. When I played against Corpheous I got my snipres in the copse and then he couldn't hit them. Stealth is a wonderful thing. I was also able to take corpheous out with Snurga Lonstrike and some orc archers. I protected snurga until he got close and then hit Corpheous for 5 clix. Corpheous isn't so powerful after that.[ag]
Yes Deathkitty, our point exactly. to beat corpheus you have to have an army designed to do it, he rips apart anything else.
Back when the only reall armies that were common were magic-enhanced storm golems and *** Nightstalkers in the forest, any army could beat those two with a bit of good playing, albeit the wrong army might suffer a few hits, but every army had a counter in every other army. now only certain armies have certain other counters, and you have to have one of each to beat whatever... good formations that would rule over one army are useless... not just bad but utterly incinerated... against corpheus.
I say get to the root of the problem: ban corpheus, ban Amazon, ban... ban Bound, period.
Change bound, make it worse, it's just too #### good.
maybe an explosive damage of 5 damage and 15 inches, that might actually be doable...
just get one of those babies out there, and push it into oblivion, like a ticking time bomb! you'd just have t make sure it didn't get captured, or else your opponent might go and release it inyour territory...
hey that sounds like an awesome idea for a scenario!
A small thing most people are overlooking.....
When was the last time anyone complained about a "Turtle."
We as a MK community, whether we admit it or not, created Corphy type figs ourselves...either as turtle players or those who lobbied against the tactic.
WK does listen....we must simply be carfeul of what we ask.

Re: hate armies designed to beat bounders. This website is incredibly hypocritical. If an army was created during Rebellion, it was openly scoffed at here if it did not include pieces/ tactics to handle a Deathstar.
Lancers....swarms became popular and the same army was ridiculed if it did not now include pieces/ tactics to handle the new environment.
WW, Dungeons, Sinister, Minions,... each set brings new challenges that should "hopefully" drastically shake up the current environment and keep people creating (Buying) new armies. But some members of this community now suddenly think that including pieces/ tactics in anticipation of what one might find in the current tourney environment is "Limiting" and "reason to sell their MK collections altogether."
Ironically, the more units released, the narrower the armies and pieces recommended "on this site" become. It's amazing how few pieces "veteran" players here recommend anymore. But when I went to the local tourney this week, I saw dozens of pieces that realms members would not be caught dead using. If you want a wider variety of armies to be recognized as viable, play with a wider variety of units.
Bounders are simply part of the strategy that you need to contend with in the current environment. Trust me, that will change.
And still you people seem to be missing the point. The simple fact that these figures like corpheus exist limits your armies, just so you have the strategy to beat one or two of these figures. An in your army you must have ONE of the infamous broken figures to have a chance at taking on all the the broken armies played today. Otherwise if you just play to beat one specific broken figure, your army will be raped by another, or just get screwed by some standard army that counters your strategy. Then you're beaten by an army that gets nowhere against all other BROKEN armies. There is no diversity, I don't care how many ideas you guys can come up with to beat this figure or that, it's not about the specific figures anymore. It's about the general armies found in tournaments today. Go look at the list of armies played at Origins, then tell me you don't see something wrong with that. Give me the number of Chariot armies, Striker armies, HOST armies.
Everyone see the things in common...all have high range, fast movement, easy breakaways and if you want a chance to win you are pretty much forced to now utilize one of these four nazis to be able to do it.
You think wizkids would see the tournament results for the past 6 months and see the apalling amount of participation dropouts and ask themselves "why is the happening?". I guess they never do this though, the just keep cranking out sets with literally ONE good figure out of 100 figures..come on...seriously people you can say there are more than one good figure from minions but you all know the only figure most people want from minions is the amazon draconum. That means the set ,without calculating the LEs involved, has a 1% usefullness rating, any other product in the world would be rejected wholesale for only having this low of a acceptable rating.
Thanks for carrying the torch on this. I've been saying this stuff for months, and frankly, am getting tired of singing the song. Nice to hear someone else sing for a while.
