Originally posted by Bahamut Kieran Starsdawn as the unique is abit flawed for 1 reason. The reason stated for it was so if someone buys a starter they have a unique that can use the relic on, except Kieran cant use every relic, so what if you get a Relic Kieran cant use and you dont get a unique that can use it?
Of course, if you venue got the "Bag full o' Mage Knight" (assuming it was available to them), you get Kieron and a Relic he can use (Silvercloud). The relic is also availble in Game Trade Magazine, which many venues give out for free (some only when you purchase something from their store).
It shouldn't be too hard to get a relic to give him.

I would have liked it if you where guaranteed one Unique out of a set that was specially made for the starters.
Yes it's thrilling to pull Uniques out of your boosters, but too much of a good thing would make you sick wouldn't it? Everyone would be buying starters, pulling out uniques at such rates it soon becomes dull. I would say it almost kill the thrill of opening the box.
I like what I'm reading from Typhon's case report. It makes me even more excited than ever about my case that's coming in 2/7.

Just why not a random unique? That is the only part that puzzles me. It is in fact one of the very, very few things I dislike about this set...
I see this Elven Archer figure as a bonus given to us by WK. This one is on top of the 8 random figs you get out of the starter as you would have any others. Maybe we could learn to be more delightful.
For a full army of warhammer youll spend upwards of 30 bucks a unit, factor in large armies and you can if you pay retail shell out 3000 for figures, factor in also paints, supplies, ands the like and factor in another good 200 to 500 dollars if your avid.
Even if you assume an average of $5 a figure a 200 model army is $1000, and if you have any amount of money constraints the bulk of your army is going to be the plastic minis, which are more like $1-$2 per model.
$750 for a collectable set is just not cheap by any means. I collected full sets of Magic through Ice Age and quite a few other CCGs, and they were all cheap and easy to collect compared to MK.

Expensive my back teeth Stromknight, you were just trying to find another so called chink in the 2.0 armor.
Chink in the...huh? I've complained about the ridiculous collectability problem of MK since it first came out, even when you got 5 models per booster instead of 4, even when the expansion sets only had 10 uniques instead of 12. This is nothing new with 2.0.
If you consider $750 inexpensive, well, hey great for you.

Your other points are also moot. I like heads on spikes and psycological warfare is important.
Hey, I said it was just my preference. You like gore and blood, I don't.
We both like this game with prepainted minis and the click dial, but some people think its incredibly dumb. Does that make both of our points moot?

and they already said 2.0 is a brand new game,

The revamp incorporates more than three years’ worth...

While the mechanics of play remain the same, nearly everything else about Mage Knight has been updated.
Notice key words like "revamp" and "updated". The whole "MK 2.0 is a whole new game" is a load of bull. Its an updated and presumably improved version of Mage Knight. That's why they say they updated it. That's why its still caled Mage Knight. That's why people write things about "what's changed".

geesh, they provide this wonderful report about 2.0 and you go on the attack. Sit back and enjoy it. its gonna be a fun game.
Attack? Hmmm, lesse, I thanked Typhon for the report and commented about some good points and bad points. Attack?
of course uniques are in starters! in the same proportion as in boosters - 1 out of 6 boosters has a unique, so 1 out of 3 starters should have a unique
