MechWarrior CMG:
-Wulfen: The minute Wolf Strike released, I was trading for Clan Wolf totems. Not only am I a fan of Clan Wolf, most notably under Ulric or Natasha Kerensky or Phelan Kell, but I collect real-life wolf art. These new Robowolves were a must-have. Not only that, but Grey Hunter flippin' rocks.
-Night Stalker: As any who remember my custom-painted Night Stalker would know...I love Night Stalkers. I've always been a fan of lighter 'Mechs in the video games, and this transferred just fine to MW. The Night Stalker just fit. Plus, leaving Jack aside, the Nova cats got the best one by far :p.
-Hitotsune Kozo: I wanted this 'Mech (Black Blade, not Tekken) a week after I started playing MechWarrior, looking for it even though I had no clue what it did. I was pleasantly surprised when Black Blade turned out to be a superb 'Mech as well as one of the best sculpts in the game. Shiros and Rokurokubis are awesome too, but the Hitotsune Kozu just takes it for me.
I'm a fan of anything totemic; Warwolves are bad***es, and my brother's Shrikes, Gyrfalcons, and Eyries are sweet. Anubises and Jaguars, Mk IV's of either type, Stalking Spiders, anything sleek and animalistic. Hm hm, things like the Warhammers and Riflemenare alright, but I want my 'Mechs to look like beasts as much as robots.
Anyways!
Mechwarrior: PC Games:
-MW4: Bushwacker: Also a CBT/TRO pick and quite possibly my favorite 'Mech of all time. I cannot wait for this thing to make it into AoD. I had about a dozen different Bushwacker configurations stored, and I'd won Solaris in MW4: Mercs with at least two of them.
-MW3: Black Hawk/Nova: Also MW2, but I prefer the look of the MW3 model. One of my favorite 'Mechs to pilot, especially in Prime. I like the low-slung, completely nonhumanoid aspects of this and the Bushwacker, they're just so unique and refreshing.
-MW2: Mercs: Catapult: An awesome unit, even if remarkably vulnerable to head shots. I had more Catapult variants in MW2M than I did Bushwacker variants in MW4M. Including ones that would likely have made CBT players cringe and cry to Mommy. I distinctly remember putting eight Inferno SRM 2s next to Clan LRM15s and CER Large Lasers on top of every advanced internal system I could in one Catapult, thing cost more than an Atlas. Was an unreal ride, though.
CBT/TRO:
-Raijin: Alright, show of hands: who's heard of this sucker? No one? Heh, thought so. When Comstar shows up in force in AoD, I'm praying they have at least one Raijin with them. Half Ryoken, half mushroom, and a 'Mech I'd pilot in a heartbeat.
-Bushwacker: My favorite 'Mech image-wise until the Raijin rolled around, everything I said above holds true here.
-Phoenix Hawk IIC (Project Phoenix): Alright, I admit it. The whole jetpack-equipped superhero look on this thing rocks. They butchered the sculpt in AoD, but the images in the project Phoenix book do it far more justice. I can hear Anthem of Braves playing every time I look at that thing...
The Raijan?! You'd pilot that Toadstool on steroids!?
You bet yer short and curlies I would. Not only do I like the way it looks, it's a damn near perfect match for my fighting style (as of MW4M). Fast, with a nasty multirange bite and a nice juicy jump range - if it don't jump, you won't find me in it on PC. Not a lot of armor, but with the way I fight, not a problem. Hang back, hit them with the PPC, and when they close give it to them right in the crotch with all eight tubes and as much pulse fire as the heat sinks can take, then jump out of there. Beautiful machine, I'd love one of my own in AoD.
Cauldron-Born...heh, wish I'd remembered that one earlier. Longtime buddy, that, even if it's a lousy stinkin' Jaguar design. Hm hm...no one says I can't steal one, though.
The old Atlas had a skull head, with a nice sat antenna. Now THAT was a command mech, unless you preferred the dual seat Cyclops. The only nice thing about the new version is the armour plates (which, I admit, makes it look very awesome).
*Sigh* What is it with you people and the new stuff??!!!
And IMHO, the Cauldron-Born was an ugly SoB......perfect for a fighting machine :).
