I'll definitely be asking for a couple of the combined arms set for christmas... and maybe buy one set when it comes out (so I can have at least two of each... hopefully 3)
the Black Wolf battlearmor is sweet and I am going to have so much fun playing them... even if their stats aren't that great (but if they're anywhere near as good as the Wulfen and Warwolf (compared to their rightful classes of course) then they'll see even MORE action under my command... maybe even taking the place of my Clan Battle Armor hordes)
I've been hoping for a new round of M1 Marksman tanks for awhile now... heck ever since Dark Age (which if I remember correctly was the only set they had a showing in at all) they were always one of my favorite tanks and whenever I use my Bannson's Raiders I always try to fit at least one or two in my force. To have an M1 Marksman again is great.
yeah I know my rambling probably isn't worth anything but... oh well... I can tell you right now I am one happy customer even before I've gotten a chance to see the stats.
Wolf's Dragoons + M1 Marksman + New Wolf themed Armor + cool new abilities = a couple packs bought by this guy
Wolf's Dragoons + Mad Cat IV + Vulture IV + Thor + Loki + Jaime Wolf + cool new abilities = at least one of the mech only sets bought by this guy
I came away from the event with a more positive outlook on the future of MW in general.
As I heard through Clown MW is the only product line WK has that is completely their own. Meaning they don't have people higher up to really answer to regarding it nor a licensing fee. And again as Clown pointed out to me this gives them incredible flexibility to play around with ideas and such.
To us at least it is looking like the next base set will not be out until around late '08 or early '09. This would give WK a great deal of time to play test the heck out of it, and implement changes according to feedback from play testing and in the meantime various action packs could be released to fill in, I mean they still have all of the canned Outlaws set to somehow put out.
Now my problem is...how many freakin' combined arms packs do I buy?!
Clan Ninja Beaver threw in with the EGP about halfway through the event made things alot more difficult. Cjlin576 just haaad to muscle his way in between my friends and I and cut the table in half.
Ninja Beavers are sneaky that way.

So, if I also claim that Ninja Beavers cannot be trusted, does that mean we can or cannot be trusted?
The event was a blast. MDFAs all over the place, pulse shots left and right, Ares grinding many mechs and vehicles to dust. A good day's work for the Ninja Beavers.
Thanks to everyone who showed up from all over the Northwest to play. We must do it again.
thats most definatly a marksman (recognize its barrel configuration) i was hoping for 2 years now we would see it return.
the new ba is called a clanwolf battle armor (similarity in design to the wulfen and warwulf)
although im not that fond of the colors i do think its a great set, would be nice if there will be more sets like this to for example battle eachother with.
I just had a look at the pictures myself, and yes they do appear to be aiming backwards.
I just hope I can find a few of these sets in South Africa before Feburary and the dry time of year - Mechwarrior wise - due to the beginning of the new Academic Year and what not.

Don't forget the "Farmy," which managed to take out one Ninja Beaver controlled Ares with Agromechs and capture another with their peasant swarm!
It was a good -- no, GREAT -- day for everyone. Can't wait 'til next year!!!
Well, you have to realize that there were perhaps 20 Ares in play on the EGP's side, against perhaps 30 opposition players (each fielding a 1500 pt army). There was simply so much activity going on all the time that the poor Ninja Beavers, acting as the EGP's agents, were absolutely swamped. Individual EGP units would often go 2-3 turns without taking an action because no Ninja Beaver was able to get to it before the turn sequence cycled around again. In fairness, I seriously doubt the "Farmy" would have been able to achieve its successes in a normal game, but it was a gas to see it in action anyway.
Alright, clue me in. I'm familiar with Clan Fuzzy Bunny, the Woof Dragoons, the Carrot Combine, the Diva Monkeys, and now Clan Ninja Beavers ---- what is EGP??
Evil Giant Pumpkin. Holloweenish event that WK puts on. I've heard of others in larger venues. The Michigan Maruaders had one a few back. I'm sure there have been others.
seeing the flickr pics makes me fiill up with hope for the game we love. I hope that WDGR goshawk is worth playing this time around...like has anybody fielded goshawks aside from the JF version and INGWE? as for collecting, well, i'll probably get two of them at the most...with the possibility of seeing them drafted as prizes like oliverb is thinking.
Wolf Spiders...I was having high expectations for the Mad Cat and Vulture, but 0/10 on both mechs' weapons? oookay, the speed ought to counteract their short range. Wicked colors too.
Clown, man...that's a LOT of tripods at play! all four Ares variants were fielded, i suppose?
Yes, all four ares versions were in play. Starting out the EGP had two of each of them inside of the fortress, then when CNB joined up with them they each had a custom painted ares to plod around. Also when the back up battle master from the venue that Clown and I are from had his SC Long tom artillery drift into old granny pumpkin, two "Zeus" ares just dropped in behind them and blew them up and left. The Ares also had a resurrection type thing going on. Basically the ares' controller rolled a dice. on a 1 the thing was dead, on a 2-5 it came back with half health and on a 6...well...full health. Luckily they only got to do it once but it was still a pain.

After the event, I finally got an explanation regarding the regenerating Ares that CNB fielded. Apparently, one of the CNB players on the other side of the table made it into the Oracle, and his wish was for the Ares to resurrect. Although they did come back, Jonas added the d6 roll for how they came back.
An explanation on the Oracle. On the opposide of the castle to where granny pumpkin sat was the "Oracle". There was a limited number of ways to get in, but once a player made it in, they were allowed to ask one question and make one wish. The caveat to this was to be careful what we wished for. We may not like what we got.
