I am sure this will be updated, but come on... The sneak preview started yesterday and you already expect a write-up in terms of how the teams play? Let's at least wait until the set is officially released and people can try the cards to come up with strategies...
I am a beginnier and I started yesterday. I bought 10 packs and I run X-men because I have alot of them with a CHildren of the Atom. This helps me out to see what I wanna use. I am going to build a sentinel deck using Long shot and ALOT of Wild sentinels and MArk 1V's. Thnx for all this help!
I just wanted to thank you for clearing up some questions I had as to the Spider-Friends team. I really have to say this is an impressive bit of study that you did to create this. I wish more people had done this for other games I had played. Then maybe I wouldn't have gotten my butt handed to me all the time.
first of all, let me say that this ius a great service you have done for the whole community.
and secondly,When can we expect some updates to older factions? i think curve sentinels have proven their worth, and would be interesting information to new players, instead of them only knowing the vomit build.
Thanks for the kind comments, everyone. Haven't been able to update lately because I just started a new job a few weeks ago and it gets pretty hectic at the office. However, I will start updating the older teams, and a few weeks into Man of Steel, I can give my initial impressions of the new DC teams, and the improvements to the old DC teams. Cyke is right, the Curved Sentinels have come into their own... and the Mark V is the primary reason it all comes together.
The Mark V basically fills in a number of gaps in the Sentinel strategy. It provides instant reinforcement to all Sentinel army characters, mostly doing away with the need to exhaust to reinforce, and allowing the Sentinels to mount a counteroffensive if need be. Also, Tag Team becomes a very powerful surprise card, as very few players actually use it, and it screws up calculations like anything since it also boosts the defense of the target character. It also possesses a decent size up the curve, and serves well as perhaps the only character in the game whose stats permanently change with a boost, without being dependent on the opponent's characters like Scarecrow.
These two characteristics of the Mark V help take the Sentinels into the later game, where the formidable Bastion and the ATK-boosting (and Sentinel churning) Master Mold come into play, along with the resource-bypassing Underground Sentinel Base. It's still a swarm, but one that can hold its own against larger characters. Bastion's ability to power-up any Sentinel character, combined with Reconstruction Programs, is deadly. Tri-Sentinel just makes Bastion even more painful if it actually gets to come in boosted, although with industrious use of the USB I don't see how this will be the case most games.
Finishing Move gives Trask something to do if he's still around, as well as the smaller Sentinels who've somewhat outlived their usefulness except to provide stat boosts or help mount an unstoppable team attack. It's much more important these days to permanently get rid of certain characters. That ability of Nimrod not to get stunned for one attack is also key to maintaining the ever-important board advantage that keeps Titans and Common Enemy where they are.
I'm also new to VS System, but I have a lot experience with Yu-Gi-Oh!
I've almost never seen such a perfect guide for learning a Trading Card Game before!!! REALLY good work!!! :)
I'd like to ask you if you would allow my team (I'm the leader of a team that helps Yu-Gi-Oh players and now we're trying to start some support for VS System) to translate this great resource into German???
VS System is starting to get popular in Germany, but without the support it will develop very slow (I don't think it will die right away)...
netrepvs will try to bring up some support for all the players in the world (I'm a member of the netrep translation team also), but that's not an all too great help for the younger players, not able to understand English. :(
So this is where I jump in and therefore, I would like to have your 'go'! :)
drop me an e-mail... a private message or just answer this thread, I will send you a private message right away!
