Great Lakes Avengers is a surprisingly funny comic dealing with D list (at best) heroes who try to start a super hero group in the Great Lakes area. It's nutty, but I have to admit it's worth the read.
New Avengers (To have no segway whatsoever) is one of my favorite comics so far. I am a long time spidey reader and was thrilled to have him in the Avengers now. Has anyone thought about the possibility of Weapon X being the people Jessica is sorta working for? With Sauron being a member and Wolverine showed up at the same time. Maybe Weapon X is planning their , whatever it is, something year anniversary return? There is no logic for this guess, just a guess.
Also, as much as I like Daredevil I don't think he will ever join the Avengers. I don't know if any of you regularly read daredevil, but believe me he has enough to worry about.
at this point I don't think that any one can tell you. In his mini series he was his own worst enemy in the void but with the writers seemingly breaking the fourth wall I think that we will have to just wait and see what they do.
The sentry thing.....ok you might want to get comfortable.
Ok so the sentry got his poweres way back in the sixties sometime just before the fantastic four got there gifts. His powers come from dring a special elixir, created by the "Proffesor" that give him the power of "a million exploding suns", whatever that means. It turns out that the serum was powerful enough to not only create the sentry but to invibe some dark recess of the Sentries mind to create his ultimate vilian the Void. Eventually the Sentry and Reed Richards figure out that it is the Sentry who is the Void, and since the Sentries powers are light based and essentially becoming more and more powerful as he absorbs sunlight, the only way to stop the Void from taking over is to stop the Sentry. Unfortunatly they(being the super hero community at the time, consisting of Spidey, Cap, the 4, Doc Strange, Thor, the Hulk) didn't feel that just asking him to stop taking the potion was enough. They knew that if the big enough emergency every arouse they would all feel tempted to risk calling the greatest super hero of all time. I mean when Galactus shows up to eat the planet you got to put your big guns on the front lines and deal with the consequences later. So instead of just having an intervention the Sentry and Reed Richards invent a machine that will erase the Sentry from every record on earth. Stephen Strange creates a spell powerful enough to erase everyone's memories of the Sentry. Of course as the JLA have shown us messing with people's minds aint an exact science. You see the Sentry starts to wake up from his little mistical labotamy. He starts to take the serum again and the Void rears his ugly head. Well eventually the rest of the heroes remember the sentry to and then remember enough that they aren't supposed to remember him so they do it all again. That brings us up to the present and hey! suprise suprise it looks like the sentry just couldn't keep his hands off the juice! he might as well be playing pro ball. So that means the Void will be making his way back which is wear the second part of the sentry storyline in New Avengers leaves us, with the void about to make some kind of move on the assembled heroes and the sentry seem to be suffereing from some kind of nervous break down.
The Sentry Storyline was handled really well. Now they've finally introduced Ronin the mysterious ninja looking character, and he's not Dare Devil. Though he was recommended by DD. They are still being secretive about the identity of this character and have only shown back shots of this character w/out uniform and Ronin in costume. They've brought Silver Samurai back which should make things interesting.
