Originally posted by axeofdespair I like these interviews, but I'd suggest providing a transcript of the interview.
When someone is willing to provide a transcript of the interviews, I'll be willing to post them. Until then, I can't afford the time necessary to devote to such an endeavor.
I provide the interviews in a pretty universal format (my understanding is wma players are available for windows, mac and linux). I also compress them down quite a bit so they're small enough that even dialup users can download it in about the time it'd take to read one of my previously written articles. If there are technical problems you have with getting the articles, let me know what they are and I'll do what I can to work around them. If it's just a preference thing, I don't know that I'll be able to help you with that.
If you know someone willing to do the transcription, please send them my way and I'll be happy to send them the audio files as early before posting as possible. If you don't, please file this in the same circular bin as the "Please bring back the written articles" requests.
And some of us really like listening to it. So if you find someone who wants to transcribe for him, cool, if not quit bugging him. There's plenty of content on this site. These audio interviews are unique however and I've enjoyed them immensely. So have plenty of other people. Dylan is, honestly, a very good interviewer which is a much rarer skill than you'd think. ::CoughJayLenoCough:: Transcribing things like this lose something in translation.
To clarify... it doesn't have to be transcripted... I like the audio. The transcript is just a bonus for those times when I don't understand what the heck Ryan is saying (heh).

Don't get your panties in a wad. Docx solicited feedback, I stated my opinion, then I stated my reason for that opinion. I don't see how that qualifies as 'bugging him'.
I didn't consider it "bugging" me to ask for transcripts. I hadn't asked for the topic to be dropped and, as everyone who's read a post by En-Kur, most any topic is a valid topic for the Original Content area ;-)
That having been said, I have now asked that the topic be dropped unless and until someone can be found to do the transcription. Until that happens, please let the matter drop.
Also, I've already got my next interview in the can and it should be posted the first morning of the Pro Circuit. It's amazing what proper planning can do for you :-)
I don't know if this has been covered yet, but can we get transcripts of these interviews? If not then I'll probably just cancel my account, quit the realms, and post realms hate in every other vs forum.
but it's up to you guys if you wanna provide them or not.
I REALLY like the audio interviews! They are great for listening to while I work.
That being said, I would love to hear an interview with the man, the myth, the foul-mouthed sailor: Jason Hager! Jason's the kind of player/creator that I want to be when (if?) I grow up.
I would say that you should interview the other mad genius deckbuilder of our time - Tim Batow. However, I've heard enough from Aqualad to last a lifetime. I mean the kid just won't shut up! I ask him what time it is, and he gives me a dissertation on the invention of the sundial... ENOUGH ALREADY!
[Actually, Tim is a very quiet and meek individual. In fact, you might frighten him and make him hide under his bed if you asked for an interview. Why do I give him grief? Because I'm the best there is at what I do... and that's what I do! ;)]
Finally, I actually would like to hear from Tony, Shane, or one of the VS Realms mods. While listening to the players is interesting, it might also be nice to hear about Vs. from the "community view" perspective. Besides, the administrators and mods don't get nearly enough recognition for all of the hard work that they do.

Thanks for the words of praise.

Jason would be a great interview. I could talk to him about Evil Medical School, what possibilities he sees in Avengers Constructed, whether he thinks there's a secret deck out there that's swimming just below the surface for PC Indy and what sort of comics he reads. . . maybe not that last one because he'll mention The Walking Dead, I'll go buy it and realise it's set in Atlanta and start having wierd daydreams at home and at work that'll start me thinking about how I and my family would survive in the event of a Zombie incursion into the US and what spots would be the best for us to evacuate to so we would be able to live while staying away from the Zombie horde that would have taken over Atlanta.
Uh. . . or something like that.

While I'm in Indy, I'm going to try to set up as many interviews as I can for the next few months. However, they'll have to be with folks here in the US. After getting the $180 phone bill just for the two hours or so of talking to Gary Wise ("He's in Las Vegas! I don't care if his cell number's a Canadian number, HE'S IN LAS VEGAS!!! I SHOULDN'T BE PAYING INTERNATIONAL RATES TO SOMEONE IN FREAKIN' LAS VEGAS!!!!") I realise that I don't get paid nearly enough to cover expenses at $1.40/minute that my phone plan has. I'll see how many international folks I can talk with while I'm in Indy and see if I can get some conversations out of them there. It'll all depend on time.

If I could pry Tony away from World of Warcraft, I might have a chance to interview him. However, given his addiction, the chances of that are slim. I'll talk to Shane in Indy and see what his thoughts are about doing an interview.
i really like the podcasts, i can rip them to my iPod and listen to them on the way to work. it's wonderful catching a few tidbits of wisdom from the premiere players out there.
maybe the idea could be expanded to a "how to" series? even someone explaining why CS is the monster in the metagame that it is. or what the different deck archetypes are and how to build new teams around those ideas.
so many possibilities I really hope to see more of this format.
the only downside is that it isn't searchable, a small price to pay in my opinion
