I'd like to say thanks to all the members of Team Comic Culture whose help in testing, deck-building etc. enabled me to win the 10K, and to all the guys at UDE who worked so hard to make the event a success.
I'll try and post more after I have had a sleep, but just a quick note about the 8 one drops. The only card search/draw in the deck is Call Down the Lightning, making sure you have a drop on turn one allows you to start cycling your deck from turn one, and makes it more likely that you will be able to use Natasha, and have an extra character available for use with Warbird. I don't remember a single game where I missed my one drop, and I think they are crusial to the deck.
Highlights of the tournament for me include Natasha beating up 7 drop Magneto on her own (well OK she did have 3 beatdowns!) for the win in game 10, and coming back in one game from -22 to 9 to tie it up at -22 each, then taking another 26 damage next turn and still winning by inflicting 35 of my own!
Time for bed

I had a similar experience at my hobby league today. My deck is very similar to yours (except I don't own any Beatdowns and I have more tech slots than you...although Flametrap doesn't do too much...). In third round I was playing a mirror or even init. Before my attack phase on turn 6 the score was 6 to 19 in my opponent's favor with him having a massive board advantage. I swung in with my 8/7 Black Panther (having missed She-Hulk I think), and Kicked him 4 times for the win. I promptly lost 0 to -4 to a TNB deck in Top 8 after making a 3-0 record in Swiss. Oh well...

It also encourages people who are new to the game as they only need to buy boosters from 2 different sets in order to have access to all the cards that we do. Just because a format isn't going to be played 'pro' for a while doen't mean that you can't run a league or event using that format.
using the format for what is useless... practice... nope since u dont know what u gonna have in the next marvel set.
Simply because you get to start hitting earlier, have someone to team attack with Natasha, can start cycling through the deck more quickly with Call Down the Lightning and maintain board control with Carol Danvers. Although the deck looks like it is a simple beatdown deck, it also tries to maintain board control as well. Making sure you have a one drop out makes all that much easier.

Just thought I would drop a word in about the crazy combo deck piloted by Sam Roads. I played against Sam and his deck (that he calls Machine Gun) in a PCQ a couple of months ago. The deck is crazy good but sometimes incredibly complicated. If your looking for a challenge, I suggest proxie it up and try it for yourself. It works on lots of Stuns via Roy and Dr. Light before you even get to combat.
I would like to say that I thought the quality of Tim's coverage was excellent. Especially the analysis of the top 8 deck lists , but the delays in metagame putting it up were awful.
