i think LoA does not need a character with as much urgency as they need something to give them range, maybe a location with an additional effect...They only have Merlyn with range but he's the backup...
Just to quickly comment, this really has nothing to do with what team needs the most help. The fact that all these teams are even on the list means they will probably be getting legacy content anyways, and they will probably be better than what us fans can design :p. The real purpose of this fan card creation isn't fixing your favorite team - its just about fun. People who vote for Arkham arn't idiots, they might just have a lot fun helping design their favorite Inmate (and there are a lot to pick from ).
Remember, just fun. This won't be the only Legacy card in the set ya know.
I don't understand how people are saying the League doesn't need new charecters. Their six and seven drops are simply horrendous unless you are playing something really specific like Gamma Bomb. Now, granted there's nothing wrong with Sensei, Lady Shiva, or either of the Ra's al Ghuls. They're just nowhere as good as Bastion, Wonderman, or Thing, ELBET. The League really needs a stronger set of late game drops in order to be competetive. Maybe something to supplement the KO theme from Eternal Nemesis and Bane.
By the way, I have really low expectations for this event. From the past few player driven events at Mtg.com, we've had some exciting events such as:
- Forgotten Ancient being costed at 2GG instead of 1GG.
- Rewind being included in the base set insted of Dismiss.
- Mana Leak being included in the base set instead of Memory Lapse.
- Glorious Anthem being picked over Crusade.
- The new 2UW draw spell for Coldpact - not really that bad, but there were better options.
There is nothing wrong with any of these, other then the fact that they all introduced a slighty weaker card to constructed formats. Since the average visitor to Metagame is a casual player as opposed to a tournament goer, you will very likely end up with the cooler card as opposed to the better card. Again, there's nothing wrong with this, but if you're expecting that this card to be a super legacy card to fix up a major hole in one of the teams, there's a good chance you're going to be dissapointed.
Originally posted by kairos10 I really don't think the League needs another character, though. They're up there already (to the point where one card we make won't help).
Arkham has good characters, but would be the most FUN to design. Plus, they still need ANYTHING.
Revenge Squad needs a lot, and almost any card we make will improve the character base.
If you don't see that the point of this isn't to suddenly make a team great, but to design a fun playable card, you're missing the whole point.
ok let's be serious, arkham already has amazing drops from 3-7, and decent 2 if you consider the new poison ivy. They need a PT or Loc, and this isn't gonna be one, so it'd be stupid to give arkham another character.
League, on the other hand, needs a good 6 drop. the 6 drop r'as sucks because he replaces the 4 drop r'as, and all sensei does is basically replace a resource u control, only in a really fancy way. They need a really good combat oriented 6 drop
I voted for the New Gods, because I feel they have some of the best non-character cards in the game, with stuff like Astro Force and The Source. But their horrible character base makes them unusable. I realize adding one character to them won't instantly make them great, but it could go a long way to making them decent.

I play Merlyn on 4. Ra's on 6 then is no problem.
Arkham has good characters. It could have better.
What I don't understand is why some people are treating this like we're actually designing a card that will matter.
All we do is pick an assortment of things that UDE provides to us. They tell us a few options, and we choose out of those. We have almost no say in what is going on with the cards, we just mix and match.

Yeah, UDE is going to print a card that amazing.

everyone knows that idiots rule the world, i mean, look at the president of the united states
anyway,
i too agree that this is pure enjoyment. i many aspects of the buisness world you want people to feel like they have some ownership. wether it be in a company or a product, they know that if someone feels as is if they are a part of something big it will increase their loyalty. this is all that ude is trying to do.
I went Team Superman but could have gone Revenge Squad. Basically, Superman still doesn't have a highly competitive powerful drop yet (neither does Batman - other than 5 drop I guess) and Revenge Squad as already stated is missing 5-7 drops that work with the ongoing plottwist theme. I'm sure Lobo is thematic here for both teams and the set (I think) and could deffinitely help in both (around 6ish I guess).
