At the minute I'm focusing on Worlds mightiest heros, although I will get my grubby little mits on everything. I had a bit of fun the other night with AGL/Syndicate (Hammerhead and Carnage - heh)
Originally posted by citizen I don't think that people expect to see a lot of JLA/JLI decks. It hasn't hit the metagame in a huge way at PCQ's or 10K's, so people won't bother teching against it at PCSF.
Players are much more likely to play weenie hate, as the lack of Flame Trap will be felt. Weenie decks, whether they are AGL, GLEE, or Multiple Man Combos will cover about 33% of the field, I'd say. That will allow, of course, the 8% of players who do play JLA/JLI to have a great chance at Day 2. The Ally deck can get to it's own weenie hate with Hero's Welcome... A great way to tutor for the 4 & 5 drop Green Arrows, who can deal weenie decks some hurt on or off-initiative.
Plus, I'd also bet that Ally decks will pack 1 Monitor Womb Station and 2 New Era to go get them, so Unmasked is easily dealt with.
I totally agree and furthermore I think that Monitor Wombat Station is so strong that they (and me among them) will use more than just one...
I like the idea of this new format: I think it may also allow new players to begin to play. Too many people I know do'nt begin to play afraid not to find "the old good cards" o not to "be able to defeat decks like common enemy or titans".
The new format is totally open to many possibilities. It's obvios that AGL, Glock and Squadron will be Tier One but I think the lack of some cards may oblige people to think to new totally different archetypes.
You truly are an enigma. Your loyalty to the one cost army character is impressive and longstanding. Here you are, faced with a format in which a deck that revolves around one cost army characters (AGL) is úber succesful, and yet you shun it for da jank. If I remember right, you were an AGL supporter (hot dog) when it wasn't totally viable. Now it is - you drop it!?
I don't think I can help it. I'm going for Arkham! SIlver age has got me giddy, and Silver Age tourneys will most likely be my first major Vs. tourneys (maybe some MMA with Hellfire) But I have tried to combine Arkham with any and every team affiliation, finding any Arkham based combination (with little to no money rares) that will work for me, be remotely competetitive, and be FUN!!!! Anyone have any ideas for me, or am I alone on this one?
Is Anyone Testing agaist Secret Society????
you know they can tutor for pretty much everything with STTG and Sorcerers Treasure right... Not to mention has one of the best Anit Swarm cards around in Grodd. Just throwing it out there.
Also No love for Spider Friends??? whats up with that,

When the head is defective, there is often no other choice.
Secret Society, Injustice Gang, Marvel Knights, Spider-friends... it really does look like the best format ever. Especially since AGL is the early favorite.

I would love to abuse Gorilla, Hector, Darkseid, and Divided We Fall someway that is playable.
Has anybody tried Silver Age GLEE? Are the pumps available to them enough to handle Squad's big Defense characters like Shape, Joystick, and Nuke?

Maybe team up Arkham and T-Bolts. Arkham still has Smiles, Everyone at their disposal, they've got Two-Face, Poison Ivy (2 and 4 drops), the Joker, new Scarecrow, and hush whereas Thunderbolts have both Justice, Like Lightning, Helmut Zemo 6-drop, Blizzard, and Thunder Jet. They also have generic plot twist support in crushing blow, sucker punch, and glass jaw
That might be your best bet for an Arkham team-up.

It sure would be convenient if someone would link their Silver Age articles in their sig so that lazy ####tards like me could find them effortlessly when trying to decide what gauntlet to playtest our jank against....
Yeah, the Thunderbolts seem like the answer. To bad my friend with all the money (stupid job) and massive card collection moved to Mississippi! Oh well, time to start going to Hobby League and build some decks instead of sitting here and contemplating! HO HO! TO THE ASYLUM, I GO!
