Didn't the last golden age 10k have like 4 jli/jla decks in the top 8?
Hasn't x-mental been doing really well in modern?
Isn't glock(which primarily is green lantern) one of the top decks right now?
Isn't teen titans also one of the (if not the) top deck ever created?
Ok supes sucks, its a hard fact that I am slowly learning to accept, spidey and his friends are weak as heck too. But I think that there are many good, good guy decks around right now.
Of course I would love to see a kick a$$ team superman deck as much as anybody but many other decks featuring these good guys have had tournament success. Also just because a deck has not top 8'ed yet does not mean it is not viable. There are plenty of unexplored possibilities for our favorite heroes(outside of super man : ( but hey maybe I'm wrong)
Remeber the JLA set has been out for quite a few months and only very recently has the team seen tourney success. If you really want your team to win, dont play whats popular and work at them, the results just may surprise you.
Well, the superheroes win but with lots of tricks...
Batman and Fantastic 4 usually win by locking the game with A Child Named Valeria and Catcher's Mitt which is something very clever and tricky.
Teen Titans (which I don't think are a second rate comic hero team, but rather DC's Xmen) do a lot of team work and out of combat tricks... most of them have some kind of loyalty which makes them strong as a team and barely splashable in other decks (unless you talk about combo decks).
Squadron is a good guys deck... they just seem to be evil because they hit hard...
JLA/JLI is actually a great deck, it's just that americans don't play it...
I think good guys in general have been treated fairly in the game... with the exception of Xmen and Spider Friends... but let's look at some Big Bad Bullies Bad Guys that have received nothing but crap cards...
Crime Lords
Sinister Syndicate
Arkham Inmates
Darkseid's Elite
Revenge Squad
DEATHSTROKE (what am I supposed to do with him and Reign of Terra?)
Injustice Gang (contrary to popular belief I find them pretty weak)
Sinister Society
Master of Evils (without Thunderbolts they are nothing)
and so on...
I think the game has a good mix of good guys/bad guys decks...
Maybe Marvel and DC are trying to get you to buy more unheard of comics...Maybe by having the tier 1 decks be unknowns and with net decking people that like winning no matter who they are using will use no name teams...I personally like to get info or already have info on any team i play...so If I were to play squad I would atleast like to find a couple comics or look up info on them to relate to the chracters and find out there powers etc...maybe its all about marketing.
JLA/JLI is probably about the strongest deck out there right now. People just need to start realizing it.
Batman should be good though. Isn't he supposed to be a genius? Isn't he supposed to be able to outwit anyone, friend or foe? And who on here can't relate to Batman? He's not goody-goody Superman. He's a dark, veangeful loner with a heart of gold (kind of).
Honestly, it just seems like UDE tries to play it safe with the big names, giving them overtly powerful abilities, like with Ally. It seems like they take more risks with the lesser known teams, which either fall flat on their ass or become degenerate. I don't think anyone expected Squadron no hand to be tier 1 when it first came out.
