For those of you acting strictly on a team basis....I feel for you. Carnage is a sick card period. Granted, a mono Syndicate strategy is highly flawed. But who says you have to use him there. Good God, if you can consistantly stall for six turns to ensure getting to turn 7, and you have cosmic replenishment..you win....that is it. There is a lot more stall in this set...and life gain...and Bizarro World is gonna change in about a month. This card can seriously win you the game. Just pick your turn 8 win condition and run with it. Short of getting whacked with an alt win condition like Captain Marvel, you get the game locked.
SO i can win the question on the gaining of initiative i'll refer to the FAQ for the set he comes from

Cosmic: Each of your opponents who does not have the initiative cannot gain the initiative.
While this cosmic power is active, the initiative can't pass to an opponent. If the initiative would pass to a player who can't gain it, it stays where it is.
If they have had to explain it, maybe it is because it was not so clear. I did not say it did not worked the way the faq describes, only that it wasn't that what the card says.
BTW, i am not a n00b but a newbie. A newbie is someone new to a game, a n00b someone who has played for a time (like dj_midsouth) but still acts as a newbie.

i am far from a n00b... still it's clear like day and night...
Ok, now, I am not sure if it is worth the effort....but...you can get Carnage in on turn six.
It requires a lot of effort, but it is possible.
You need to have the New 4 drop Thunderbolts character that is essentially Sensei....and you need him too. You need to team up with Secret Six and Sinister Syndicate. That shouldn't be too hard.
Mockingbird can drop Carnage into play Stunned at the start of recovery before you ko your two resources. However, being that he comes in stunned, you need to recover and get his cosmic back on. Recovery is the easy part as you can run It's not over yet and that is taken care of. Getting the cosmic back on is the tricky part. You could team up with New Gods and run New Genesis...which takes care of Both the recovery and the cosmic. Obviously, taking evens for a nasty little trick to take over the game on turn 7 is highly risky. While I have put some thought into this, I am not sure I will ever attempt it. But it would be a dirty trick if you could actually pull it off.

so basicly he's free on 7 then because it is turn 6 and he's stuned, i like it tho
I've been looking over the Galactus spoiler and there seems to be the right cards to make this hair brained scheme work. So, better than the New Gods for recovering a character and getting a cosmic counter on is the Inhuman. Terragenesis and the team up both can take care of the issue.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING TO DO WHAT I SAID YOU COULD EARLIER....I WAS WRONG.
"Concealed
Remove Lex Luthor from the game >>> Put a Secret Six character card with cost less than the number of resources you control from your hand into your front row stunned. Use this power only during the recovery phase and only if Lex Luthor is in your hand."
By the time you can use Lex, you have lost the two resources. So it won't work.
