If the people that stayed want those that left to come back, then pull a bunch of people together, find a store or two that will host big tournies with big prizes, and do it that way.
To put it simply you are a disgrace to the name boy of steel, and should not be aloud to support that avatar. What does the store get out of this. Stores are only going to support events when they are positive on the attendance. Because of the lack of support in Europe, be it lack of Big events, prize support, or whatever, there arnt enough players to ensure attendance. Therefore no store will risk putting up "big prizes" when there is little to no pay out from the players.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to WalterKovacs again.
Apparently I am not allowed to rep every post you have made in this thread!

Like seeing a problem in Europe and trying to redesign the OP structure [if only they actually followed through on the Master's Challenge, it would likely have made a bid difference].
...
If they are going to support the game with events like the Master's Challenge. Then HAVE EVENTS LIKE THE MASTER'S CHALLENGE.
To give credit where credit is due UDE-E has improved their communication a little recently even if it is just half a dozen posts in the Dear Upper Deck/European OP/Support section on this site. They have let us know that they are aware of our issues although they still haven't addressed several of them.
Also, they have now announced the dates for the 2 Masters Challenges next year (Essen in Feb and Manchester in July IIRC). This is a ray of hope and we are going to try to attend both, but it may be a year too late. The years lull in any major OP has possibly been the death knell for an already sick patient. :(
To those who say good riddance to those who quit over the lack of 10ks do some research. This is one of a large number of reasons why people left (including late or non existant product and prize support). Things like missing prerelease kits hurt casual players more than serious ones. Whatever the reason people left, one tournament isn't going to bring them back, and those few of us who still care are the ones suffering. We don't care why they left. We care that we have noone to play against.
PC, 50k, 10k, Master Challenges? There's little difference, and you're arguing semantics (and I know you know better than that). They're arguing for some kind of large UDE run event. What exactly it is, from all posts I've seen, are irrelevant.
True.
However, your point is making it seem like they are asking for a 'lot' [50K/PC]
They are asking for 10K, or even less than that, a Master Challenge. WHICH THEY HAVE BEEN PROMISED.
And, since there hasn't been a ton of information about the Master Challenge, we don't even know how much it costs ... [in terms of prizes].
The argument that "it's not financially feasible" is significantly altered based on the size of the prize of the event.
Using the MOST expensive events as your examples undermines your point as you attempt to undermine your opposition by misrepresenting their demands and thus, you are able to make it seem as if those demands are unreasonable.
Demanding a PC is unreasonable.
Demanding a Master's Challenge, which exists only in the context of UDE Europe, and which has been promised to them by UDE Europe is PERFECTLY reasonable.

And I'm not saying he said anything. He doesn't care if they QUIT. I'm saying that they should STOP COMPLAINING. I never said BoyOfSteel said what I was saying, he's just in a similar position as I.
Perhaps.
He doesn't care about the people that quit.
You are saying that the people that want to continue playing, and do continue playing, but have very few people to play AGAINST should quit.
I was clarifying that the two things you were saying are VERY different, and that not caring about the people that QUIT should not equate to not caring about the people that SUFFER because of the people that QUIT.

Nice try, WaKo, but not nice enough. Your other post was very good, by the way, where you at least addressed the issue. I need to read it in more depth before I respond.
Your right. I shouldn't have responded to a post where you were CLEARLY addressing an issue without also addressing it ...
And what pray tell were you 'addressing' in that post?
The repetition of "whiners shut up" ... to put it bluntly. Not really much of an 'issue' in that post that I replied to.
I was clarifying some misleading [intentional or not] statements.
I'm not saying UDE is all great and wonderful, or that it should back out of what it promised it's players. I hate that they back out of things, send things late, or as they do with Yu Gi Oh, and release it a month early to Mejier, Walmart and other superstores, screwing the local game and hobby shops. (which is what I do, own a game store)
What I am saying is the people that leave because UDE wont give away money, are the people that tend to be hard core about winning by any means. While I want a tough game to make me think, I hate seeing people crush little kids, become pricks across the tables in order to try and muscle in a win with everyone else. I also don't see the point of having people playing a game for money over fun. Why I think Football players should not be paid as much. (Pick your meaning of football, I happen to be a Mann U fan, and hate the American sport myself)
When it comes to UDE not shelling out cash and prizes, people should stop jumping up and down and yelling about it, and think more along the lines of "why?" there has to be a reason. If you can find the reason, then you the better idea and thread would be "how do we fix that"
As for not having people to play. I went from having 12 people to play, to having 3, done to just one person. I went to hobbies stores an hour away, and found tounries, and people that did not like how things were going, or wanted to play new people and we made a date, once a week to meet and play for 4 or 5 hours. We get a good number, and the people change offten enough. It's not to hard to find players. I mean for god's sake I live in Kentucky, in the middle of farm country. If I can teach rednecks and hillbillies how to play VS and get them pumped enough to want to play and use card protectors..then anyone can find and or make new players to get into the game.
PC, 50k, 10k, Master Challenges? There's little difference,...
LMAO
Let's see here... 250 thousand dollars+ for a PC... 50 thousand dollars+ for a 50K, 14.5 thousand dollars+ for a 10K (IIRC) and 2 plane tickets to a PC+ for a Master Challenge... AND, it's taken well over a year for UDE to even schedule an MC. If we don't find out when the first 50K is until next December we will officially have _ONE_ similarity between a Master Challenge and the money tournaments, not counting the fact that they're VS tournaments.
Okay, I didn't read the entire thread so I'm not sure if this has been said. I want to tell my fellow Americans to knock it off! There's no point in criticizing the European foke. If anything you should feel bad that they have a lower level of tournament play then us. On top of that, it's not even a good argument! It seems as if you're only trying to pick a fight. If that's the case find a REAL topic. Another thing, so what if they don't have as good a system? The game isn't about making money. You're supposed to have fun. If they have a decent hobby leage or just friends to play with, that should be enough. Now for the Europeans. You all have a good reason to be mad at us. Just one thing. You shouldn't criticize ALL of us. Just because some of us are being ignorent *cough* BackAgain *cough* doesn't mean the rest of us are bad. So now that this is said... STOP ARGUING!! Just get along, and treat each other like the tournament deal was the same. And if this can't be done, grow up.
Nothing says "I want understanding and compassion for my predicament" like the title Most American's view of the world. As an American I definitely love it when non-Americans tell me what my views on all ranges of issues is. And from what I have been reading in threads like these, "most" Americans seem to sympathize with the European's problems with only two or three posters going negative. They post often sure, but that doesn't make them any more numerous.
To put what I just said in Frankenstein speak:
"UDE EUROPE BAD!"
"SWEEPING GENERALIZATIONS OF NATIONS AND THEIR PEOPLE...BAD!!"

Most Americans including myself feel badly about the Vs situation in Europe and else where. There is no good reason why the great Vs players of Europe, Asia, and anywhere else should not have the same good OP system that we Americans enjoy. You definitely deserve it. I'm sure if the OP systems were reserved for example Europe had the American OP system and America got the European OP system, then you would fell badly for us, Americans.
Unfortunately, some Americans are just jerks and feel the need to post their jerkiness. Hopefully, these people will stop and reform. I always enjoy people turning their life around in a positive manner. Everyone wins when this happens. And hopefully next year, Europe, Canada, Asia, Australia, and everywhere else will get the good OP system they deserve.

Please, I've used BoyofSteel for over ten years, and I don't need some Superboy Prime telling me I should stop.
As for what does the store get out of it..if there are so many people that want an event, then the store will get it's numbers. With everyone saying there is no player base for events or games, no wonder there is no UDE support. You need people for games, there are no games so there are no players, so we need games to get more people. Sort of fits in there with sick people take pills, so if I stop taking my pills I wont be sick anymore.

I was merely making a comment on the poor choice of a thread title and how it can put people who agree that UDE Europe is buns on the defensive as they try to show they aren't like "most" other Americans. And now I must take my leave of this thread. Farewell internet and all who inhabit its clogged tubes!
And just because Frankenstein only speaks in loud chunks doesn't mean there isn't a lot going on upstairs. Think about it...I dare you.

Frankenstein was the doctor that made the monster. And if you are talking about the Frankenstein monster, which one? The movie one, which was dim witted? Or the one from the book that spoke seven languages?
