almost all sleeves will break apart after repeated side shuffling, i'll witness that. you need to replace your sleeves more often if its happening to you.
Both of these shuffles won't offer immediate and complete mixing of cads after a game, but they're nice as a casual shuffle, that I use between games or if I'm waiting for a match to start. Top it off, or start it off with a few Press Riffles (pushing two halves of a deck together, letting the natural spread of the sleeved cards split the cards in a near perfect A-B-A-B-... mix), and the deck should be fine.
If you're under a time limit, and enjoy messing with your opponent, a simple 3/4 cut is good, but before passing the deck back, grab the top card, and place it on the bottom of the deck, followed by a comment like "You didn't want that (INSERT CARD NAME HERE), did you?" or "If you want it, you'll have to shuffle or seach!"
someone is top shuffling but with the cards face up instead of down, what do you do?
is there a POLITE way to get them to turn the cards over? dont want to seem like a jerk esp since its mostly previews that i get to play in but some people are good enough to stack that way
It's one thing to be willing to shuffle your own deck in such a fashion ... but I'm a 'monkey see-monkey do' type ... I'd never be rougher with an opponent's cards than they were to their own cards.
The previous response was nuked, the answer is yes. I would never shuffle an opponent's deck like that... those were my own Madrox I was abusing in public.
You know me, I want to start a survey on the forums before I decide. But I have already played pirate with this thread once and I am trying to learn to learn from my mistakes.
Back on topic, I will offer my method for shuffling an opponent's cards: A three stack cut followed with a loving smile and a "Good Luck!"
I use a combination of Hindu, Side and Ovehand shuffling with my opponents deck. Three low impact shuffles that will get the deck randomized.
That being said, I find it a bit ridiculous that Fatalsync will let inane bickering about something completely off topic continue for pages and pages and pages, but when we post about our shuffled music it gets nuked. Because I'd much rather read about music shuffles than read backagain and BoyofSteel argue about shuffling for 6 pages, but hey I just work here, what do I know?

Tried smiling and saying "Hey no peeking there buddy" then laugh it off and ask them if they really want to show you what they are playing.

So you show up to the thread made so we could move the off topic pages and pages of talk about shuffling..to read what?
I found and responded in this thread before I ever stumbled upon the one with the all the fighting.
Okay, you are forgiven. Now don't do it again. Report the offenses you find elsewhere and accept the decisions of the mods. Thanks again.
It was my fault the thread got jacked, and although it was brilliant music shuffling that will forever improve the quality in my ears it was indeed in the wrong section. I will start a thread in Another Realm for music shuffle lists as soon as I submit this.
Back on topic one more time...
The Pro Circuit runs extremely smoothly when it comes to the shuffling issues, and I have never heard a problem at the 30 other events I have attended.
Bridge shuffling Caused one of my EomE to get bent I was ticked. From now on when ever someone has a problem with me asking them not to do so I call the judge over and ask him to shuffle my deck.
Used in casinos when a fresh pack of cards is opened of between hands of poker, the cards are fanned out in a tight fan, and then followed up by taking both hands, and "washing" the cards by sliding them around and over each other with one's hands. Then the cards are moved into one pile so that they begin to intertwine and are then arranged back into a stack.
If your opponent bridge shuffles your cards in such a way that even one card is visible, and you've asked your opponent not to shuffle in such a way, call a judge immediately, and inform them that your opponent has gained unfair information about your deck, which is cheating, by choosing a very insecure shuffling method. Your opponent may argue that they didn't see any of your cards, but ultimately it will be the judges call.
Will you seem like a dick for doing that? Sure. But then, wasn't the opponent deliberately doing that to you by disregarding your legitimate concern for your cards?
