Thank you for the feedback. On A), I tried to address this by making it a double power action. The top dial willpower shows that it will be a strain, but he can handle it. Then the end dial is where it could take him out if he tries it. I felt like it was a strain on the passengers too, so I wanted them to get a token, but I'm open to the idea of changing it.
You think Double Power and deal NC a click of unavoidable and nothing for the passengers is fair?
B) I agree the low attack means it will be hard to pull off. It such a powerful effect and I still have flashbacks of Bencrawler so I wanted to limit its use.
That said, I think you're right and moving it to a 10 would not break the game.
I missed the double power action. I think it works for Kurt considering he will be tied up for an entire turn. I think it will be more limited in its use given he still minuses up to 3 to speed (9 speed top dial) when he carries and, more importantly, he doesn't have IM of any type. So he has to use stairs, run around bushes and avoid opposing figures as he tries and positions the team.
I get the fear of Bencrawler, 100%. I get what the good Baron said about still getting to move - I just think with todays game the 9 attack isn't a gamble, it is more like fishing for crits to crack Invulnerability.
Where your version has better balance than Bencrawler is he only gets to move 4 squares AND, again there is no IM to maximize its effect. If not for those limitations, I'd argue having a penalty to Kurt (extra action token, rolls for damage, etc) if it was just hit and snatch.
10! 10! 10!
Okay - on to Snowbird version A.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
SCULPT NOTE: Ideally there would be some cool sculpt you could make from this concept, but if nothing else, Narya in her final human form would be fine.

Shifting Focus: Beasts Of The Arctic: FREE: If Snowbird began your turn on the map, replace her with another character with this trait.
You Dare: When Snowbird uses Shape Change and the result is 1-4: You may immediately replace Snowbird with a character placed on your sideline as part of the Shifting Focus: Beasts Of The Arctic trait.
Mystical Senses: FREE: While Snowbird occupies a square with an object, opposing characters within 6 squares can't use Stealth.
Power To Fight The Great Beasts: PROTECTED: Opposing Telekinesis. Mind Control, but only when there is an opposing character with the Great Beast keyword.
HEALING AURA (REGENERATION)
SHAPESHIFT INTO ARCTIC ANIMALS (SHAPE CHANGE)
Interesting idea...
Keywords are solid - although I'd like to see GOD SQUAD for reasons...
6 clicks of life is solid for the points. I am partial to 7 because of her Sasquatch form - but I can live with it.
Mystical Senses - gives this dial utility, which I like. Need stealth busting - Narya can play the Wolverine's role.
Power to Fight the Great Beasts - Protected: opposing TK is flavorful (I'm assuming this is her tied to the North aspect preventing her from leaving Canada) but doesn't offer enough value to only have it paired with Willpower. Obviously the limited Mind Control is again, flavorful - should she gain a bonus to attack when targeting a Great Beast to really show off the specialization (and give more reason to stick to this form?)
You Dare - this trait saves the dial and is the reason the naked defense could work. EE, Force Blast, Poison and a whole host of "deal damage" will certainly chew through her dial when she isn't 'directly targeted' but I will wait to see what other versions are on the way.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
regen on a sf is nothing to scoff at. that cements her immense use for what's to come. the full dial sc (and that awesome extra sf mechanic) also gives her a pretty sit and frees up the track for a different role, here a very specific bit, but situationally helpful
ok, enough skirting around it. she's got some frills here and there and decent enough stats to slap down without relying on the more offensive role that's sure to come, but the big draw is her mystic senses killing stealth. so much so, you gave her unprecedented tk protection so you couldn't just yank her off her roost. the shooty alphans are gonna really appreciate narya's scouting skills
// but the big draw is her mystic senses killing stealth. so much so, you gave her unprecedented tk protection so you couldn't just yank her off her roost. the shooty alphans are gonna really appreciate narya's scouting skills
But couldn't you just TK the object away?
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
yeah for sure. it's always been the bane of stealthers, but there's a difference between taking their hidey cubby away and repositioning the character. it's not a big thing, but it's a nice thing
Might I suggest something like the Beast Boy sculpt form Rebirth, light blue effect translucent plastic leading into a landing pose Narya.
Also if I might say....YAHOOOOOOOO!
A real Snowbird, a shifting focus Snowbird and that's the best way to represent her in Heroclix.
I like that you worked in her psychometry powers into Mystical Senses and giving her base form some Stealth busting is a nice surprise to spring on your opponent.
Power To Fight The Great Beasts, is a great way to not overburden the base dial with powers but add in lots of flavor. Especially with lots of nice Regeneration to follow.
You Dare, hehe best flavor text response for offending a deity....y'know right before she changes into a polar bear and shows you what the mightiest land predator on earth thinks of your importunities.
Shifting Focus just seemed a must. In the past, her animal powers overshadow what she could do in her 'human' form. I wanted to incorporate all the ambiguous powers she had, including her mystical tracking powers. That's also why she has the regen. I wanted her to be the synergizer of the dials.

Alright, I think 10 attack is warranted. I will effect the change.

I thought about giving her ESD or reflexes, I was saving those for other dials and I didn't want to duplicate anything. I figured the dare would take care of that. You want to punch her but she fails her SC, no problem, have fun punching a bear (oops, spoiler alert).
The Protection TK was just one of the flavorful effects I could throw on there that wouldn't impact the cost much. And yes, you hit it on the head, her ability to resist being teleported or taken from the soil she's tied to.
Essentially, this should be the base form used mostly for support and healing.

I knew I wanted a base dial to play off the others, but didn't want to take away from the other forms, so I stacked a bunch of cool random things she could do on the dial that would otherwise never see the light of day.

Yeah, I figured Protected TK is limited and is probably why it has not been introduced thus far (except by me on my Horsemen of Apocalypse characters).
.......yeah....she may want a hug but unless your packing at least Invincible I'd politely ask her to respect your personal space.
I mean it probably won't help, but if you do survive maybe you can convince Heather ( or Mac if he isn't currently blown up ) to get Dr. Twoyoungmen to sew your disparate body parts back together.
Charge Blades Plasticity and Giant reach with the ability to draw her hug buddies closer makes Ursus Maritimus Snowbird the angriest Care Bear of all!
....I think I'd call her Arctic Apex Predator Bear.

Shifting Focus: Beasts Of The Arctic: FREE: If Snowbird began your turn on the map, replace her with another character with this trait.
Bear Hug: Giant Reach:2. When Snowbird hits with a close attack, she may place the hit character in a square adjacent to Snowbird.
BRRRGRRROOOWL: Charge, Plasticity.
GREAT WHITE BEAR (SIDESTEP)
TOP PREDATOR (BLADES/CLAWS/FANGS)
THICK HIDE (TOUGHNESS)
800 LBS OF FURY (CLOSE COMBAT EXPERT)
Narya the bear.
16 defense is low and Toughness isn't much protection but it is balanced when she shifts into this firm mid-attack.
Plasticity is great for breaking away but with a 16/ Tough the opponent will be happy to score the 65 which lessens the value of her Giant-Reach grab ability.
I really hope lack of Indom is a typo because Snowbird can't afford to push.
Side-step + CCE is a great combo and I'm glad she has an average defense at the end but the naked clicks means poison and knockback can be fatal.
I'd love some defense to improve dramatically since switching to Bear-mode on her final 2 clicks has no value on the last 2 clix (17 no defenses to 17 no defenses). 18 would be great. Toughness at the min.
9 attack AND 2 damage at the end. Ouch.
Fun fact: polar bears are strong swimmers. Can you make Snowbird a ?
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
lol, narya's go-to for stealth is a 9ft tall bear. check!
and in her bear form, she's just wantin' some love, so come in for that sugar, sugah, as she reaches in with those big ol arms to pull you in tight. bonus points if while lovin and squeezin you call them george because a handful of mess is all that's going to be left after she tightens the vise! i really like the conditional flurry. a sf piece that rewards you for sticking to your guns is a neat addendum to the mechanic i don't think we've really seen before iirc. and it's the perfect amount of flavor for the dial. starting off with the bcf also adds a great amount of oomf on this form.
no worries about having a good narya dial, lemme tell ya

That's a great suggestion. It now is in her flavor text.
Yeah, they may look cute on TV, but polar bears are no joke. No hugs for me thank you.

Great call on the . I added some flurry to make her more offensive. Hopefully that balances her out a little better. Maybe some 17 defense toughness might be in order also.

Don't think I didn't debate adding stealth to this dial I decided flurry was a better option.
I was going to go with straight 2 damage with BCF but I decided a minimum damage of 2 is probably more appropriate.
that top dial is both going to see a lot of map time and not going to see a lot of map time. she'll be coming in and out of the owl form a TON. i mean if for no other reason than just to sneak in the double sidestep every turn with any form. this adds a whole lot of mobility to her package, really polishes the human form a lot, maybe a bit much for the bear form though (combined with the charge).
i appreciate that the double sidestep is the only mobility on this dial. 'cause it's plenty. i like the stealth, too, and the very tiny add of the breakaway bonus against bigger boys to make their penalty a wash is quite nice. that adds as much to her mobility flavor as the sidesteppery. appreciate the lower dmg throughout and the modest 2 on the ew up top was a clever call, it actually encourages you considering staying with her as the owl on the map
"Who's a pretty bird, who's a pretty bird?"
"AAaaaaaAAAAAhhhhh, not my eyes, NOT MY EYES!!!!"
LOL That's hilarious. Definitely a QFT.

vicious flavor text on the ew
I had a couple changes based on your feedback. Made the Swoop in SF shenanigans based on her not making an attack. I also changed polar bear to sidestep, that way she's limited to a 7 square swing instead of 9 squares.
