From 2014 to 2019 NJPW was on AXS TV. NJPW is a pro wrestling company out of Japan. When it was on U.S. cable, it was, unquestionably, my favorite wresting promotion. I found it ironic that IMPACT (the U.S. wrestling promotion who took NJPW's time slot on AXS TV) was spotlighting NJPW wrestlers that had worked for them.
New Japan Pro Wrestling vs. Impact Wrestling
Bound for Glory 10/23/05
Jushin "Thunder" Liger vs Samoa Joe
Final Resolution 1/15/06
Tanahashi "Ace" Hiroshi vs "The Phenomenal" A.J. Styles
Xplosion 1/28/08
Shinsuke Nakamura vs "Prime Time" Elix Skipper
Xplosion 6/21/11
Kazuchika "Rainmaker" Okada vs "Motor City Machine-gun" Alex Shelley
What I took away from this episode of IMPACT in 60, IMPACT (TNA) was way ahead of WWE on talent scouting. Unfortunately, just like the WWE, IMPACT had no idea what to do with their talent. Jushin "Thunder" Liger is a cruiser weight icon who wrestled "Flying" Brian Pillman on the first match of the first Episode of WCW's Nitro. Tanahashi "Ace" Hiroshi has won the NJPW heavyweight title 8 times, the most in history. Shinsuke Nakamura is the youngest NJPW heavyweight champion, of all time and currently employed by the WWE. Kazuchika "Rainmaker" Okada is the longest reigning NJPW heavyweight champion, of all time, and has the most successful title defences in one reign. Guess which NJPW wrestlers won their match? Yes, none is an option.
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
Only Shinsuke Nakamura won, all other NJPW wrestlers lost. You got to make your brand look strong!
Wishing for competitive Judge Dredd figures for Modern Age...WizKids are you listening?!?!
Played in my 4th Fantastic Four Future Foundation tournament, finished 4th. Coincident, I think not.
I'm impressed that you've found that many sealed booster tourneys to play in around you. Even though businesses are all open around here, as far as I know, there's no live play clix action.
All this talk of Fantastic Four lately makes me think of the awesome, spectacular Flame On. My kids dance and sing to everything and I played this on Youtube as kind of a joke...it backfired on me. Since then they've wanted to see it a few times
