I am not comfortable with that route of action at all.
That being said, his info will be unreliable from now on, if he is telling the truth.
Morph pops on and pressures Buddha. Buddha doesn't give much detail other than claiming Grinner is town. His later response feels anti-town, as he's already outed he has a cop power. This makes him a prime target at night.
If he's not the cop, which his coy response is leading us to potentially believe, then it means that he's possibly a jack of all trades. Either way, he looks rather suspect with the way he responded to Morph's question.
A few possibilities come to mind as to what could be happening here, but I don't like how Buddha responded. He didn't even claim anything other than Grinner is town, which could just be a guess trying to sus out the cop.

It's not a guess. I know he's town. If it helps, I am indeed the cop. I really didn't want to out myself on the freaking 2nd day but whatever. Assuming I make it to tonight I'll expect some protection
He is a liar! I'm the cop and I am Elder Price from the book of Morman. I targeted him, it came up mafia. I may play boldly but certainly not this bold.
It doesn’t seem like I was messed with either, hence the uneventful night. Not gonna lie but pretty much everyone seems sketchy to me this early in the game. Either Morph is lying or VB is lying, or their both lying. It strikes me as odd that Darq and TSP haven’t checked in yet, he was pretty active in the last mafia game we played. I want to hear from them, maybe they have info that will reveal more. Or maybe not. And my brain will just hurt more trying to figure everything out like two days in.
But I’m with Shel on this, if VB is actually the cop then it’s kind of his own gosh darn fault that people don’t completely trust his info later in the game.
I keep coming back to this, and it's pinging me for some reason.
Pinging how? I do agree that Shel worded it oddly. I don’t know, as I said already, I took it as she didn’t have all of the info she wanted and didn’t want to jump on something. I took the second part to mean that even if VB is telling the truth everything we get from him will be “tainted” so to speak. I don’t know maybe I’m just reading too much into.

Shel's defense seems odd to me. Morph pops on and immediately throws down on someone. This is a good start to our day and gives us something to work with. Buddha responds assuming he knows exactly what Morph has on him. I asked Buddha a simple question, and he immediately outs himself as a cop. It's a rushed defense that reeks more of trying to out the actual cop. Buddha could have requested clarification from Morph.
Shel is uncomfortable with us trying to push more on Buddha... but why? Morph is doomed if Buddha turns out to be the actual cop. And if Buddha is the actual cop, why play coy about whether he is or isn't? It's like feeling the waters to see how deep to go. But Shel doesn't like the pressure and immediately claims his info would be useless. With one person dead, I find it difficult to believe that there wouldn't be a guide, tracker, or reverse tracker running around still.

Care to elaborate? Is it because I'm hesitant to oust a potential cop? Although, I'm not 100% against it.
Or because I'm also logically pointing out that if he is indeed our cop, his results can't be trusted because he'll either be misdirected or roleblocked consistently? An outed cop is a boon for a mafia that might have a CMD.
What, am I normal or not?
Am I crazier than other patients?
Right, I've done everything right.
So where's the karma, doc? I've lost my patience.

Hmmm, I didn't see anything odd about my phrasing...

Did I say useless or unreliable, my dear? They are two very different words.
