Putting on a show: Perplex. When she uses Perplex, she may modify the same combat value (except Damage) of every friendly character within range by +1 and that same combat value of every opposing character within range by -1. Blinding lights: Incapacitate. Modify Dazzler's attack value by +1 for each of her targets that have a special power currently on their dial. When Dazzler hits an equipped character, after actions resolve give it an additional action token (if you cannot, deal it one unavoidable damage).

Astro City's Superman analog was actually a time traveler coming back to stop an apocalyptic future. An unplanned side effect of the trip is that his family was erased from the timeline and that he got immense superpowers. The first issue is a day in his life, saving as many people as he can with the limited time in a day.

Drive You Insane by Killing Your Friends: If an opposing character adjacent to the Target is KOed, the Target has -1 Combat Stats until the beginning of your next turn. If two opposing characters are KOed this way, the Target cannot use ranged attacks for the rest of the game. I Stole This Too... From Kraven: POWER: KO Mysterio. No Victory Points are scored from this.
Mysterio is a villain who specializes in special effects and who frequently uses holograms -constructs of light- in his schemes.
Mysterio has been dialed several times over the years, so how to give him a touch of specificity? Use the Guardian Devil version.
In that story, Mysterio was dying of cancer and was obsessed with killing Spider-Man... except he thought the current Spidey was a clone and not worth his time. Instead, he bought Daredevil's secret identity from Kingpin and set about systematically destroying Daredevil's life with an over the top supernatural apocalypse storyline that would see Karen Page killed.
The end of the arc sees a triumphant Daredevil mocking Mysterio for his hackneyed plot, which leads Mysterio to commit suicide. Interestingly, this feels like metacommentary on Kevin Smith's comic book career-- most of his stories were rehashes of his favorite comic stories or attempts to mesh his comedy with ill-fitting characters.

Just in time for Doctor Who's anniversary, it's my favorite incarnation of the Doctor's archnemesis. Or at least, one of their archnemeses. She was one of my favorite cards in the Doctor Who/Magic: The Gathering crossover, and I wanted to see if she translated as well to clix as to MTG.

I was a big fan of all of the different comic companies in the 90's. There were sooo many. But after seeing the prompt for this round the cover of The Comet #1 flashed in my mind. I reread the first issue, and realized he did a blinding flash to disorient his enemies.
Depending on the prompts for the next rounds you might see a few more of these 90's heroes.

FORESIGHT/HINDSIGHT
Time traveling light manipulator, check and check. Armageddon 2001 was my first company crossover experience picked up biweekly from the grocery store using left over lunch money (skipped the milk and saved a quarter). Before the proliferation of the internet figuring out who’s who from that early post-Crisis roster required a lot of combing through everything DC. I think it’s just nostalgic enough to revisit that era of under represented iterations (Will Payton Starman, yellow outfit Power Girl, Valor (M’onel), LEGION, etc) between Crisis and Zero Hour aka reboot 1 and 2. Waverider here fits snuggly in the middle as the protagonist of Armageddon 2001 and the resolution to Zero Hour. Assuming our next DC set will be Justice League themed since there has to be one in rotation I’m hoping they mine from this era.

Design Notes: Might be stretching the definition of light manipulation here, but the stealth camo tech in the Metal Gear Solid series is based around bending light to make the wearer invisible; and Gray Fox has that Stealth Camo built into his cybernetic body.
It has it's issues, but the recently released Master Collection was my first chance to get my hands on the Metal Gear series. Gray Fox's character really stuck out to me, so I wanted to try and build the stealthy cyborg ninja.

Putting on a show: Perplex. When she uses Perplex, she may modify the same combat value (except Damage) of every friendly character within range by +1 and that same combat value of every opposing character within range by -1. Blinding lights: Incapacitate. Modify Dazzler's attack value by +1 for each of her targets that have a special power currently on their dial. When Dazzler hits an equipped character, after actions resolve give it an additional action token (if you cannot, deal it one unavoidable damage).
