Magneto fretted angrily. This wasn't going as smoothly as he had hoped. The loss of Toad wasn't a major issue, but now Sabretooth was down too, and his remaining forces were all spread out. Not only that, but it was really too warm a day to be wearing a metal helmet. He was getting cranky.

"Mystique," he said into his comlink, "Sabretooth's out. Get down here."
"On my way."

"Ladies, I do believe it might be time to regroup," said Storm. The lightning bolt that had lanced down and struck Sabretooth had wearied her, and she knew The Brotherhood was still very dangerous.

Rogue shakily flew over towards her teammates, and hovered between Psylocke and Marrow. "Ah don't mind tellin' y'all, but I feel like tne pounds of potatoes in a five pound sack."

Boom-Boom, in high spirits afet dealing the coup de grace to Sabretooth, giggled as she juggled her energy bombs. "I have no idea what that means, Rogue, but you've certainly looked better. Betsy, are you feeling OK?"

Psylocke nodded, stretching her arms, testing the limits of Victor Creed's assault on her. "Yes, oddly. I suppose that furball didn't hit me quite as hard as I'd imagined..."

While Sauron glided from one rooftop to the next trying to get a better staging point for his next attack, Magneto sized up the targets from the ground. Most of the X-Men were clustered against the wall of the building on the right, and the fire escape blocked his view to them. All except one. Young Boom-Boom was still visible, hiding behind the parked car.
"Foolish girl," he said quietly. "Xavier should have taught you better. Behind a car is one of the worst places to hide from one who is the master of magnetism!" With a gesture from him, the car spun around crazily. Boom Boom was swatted by the wildly spinning machine and was down. "That's two." Magneto said. "Now we're even."

Mystique will dash across to K17, hiding behind the LO therein.

Before Rogue gets out of range next turn, I'll push Sauron for a charge. He'll move to J7 then attack with BCF. He's got AV11 to DV12, so anything but a 2 will be a hit. Hits with a 7. And he gets another 6 on his BCF roll. -1 for Rougue's toughness and she still takes 5, which is another KO. Sauron takes 1. Man, Sauron's just being vicious this game.

Mystique sprinted across the open courtyard, joining Magneto, quickly taking the form of a homeless woman, looking through the trash can for useful items.

Sauron saw his targets moving out of range again. "No!" he shrieked, "You're mine!" He dove down upon Rogue before she could join her comrades, slashing with claw and beak. She went down under his furious assault.
"Rogue!" Mystique gasped. "If he's killed her, Magneto, I swear..."
"Don't go soft on me, Mystique," Magneto scolded. "I know you think of Rogue as a daughter, but she's the enemy now, and must be treated as such."
Mystique glared at him, but remained silent.

No time for a story now - I'll post one later. Sorry - but I'd rather fit in the gamism than the literature, and today's been busy. I'll be better!

"Sarah, you may want to move away from me - I can see our nemesis below, and this area may become rather... stormy." As Ororo Munroe said this, she raised her hands, and the clouds overhead thickened.

"Whatever you say, lady," muttered Marrow, and retreated next to Psylocke. "You may want to grab hold of something, Betsy - looks like Storm is about to live up to her name."

Marrow and Psylocke crouched down, remaining low on the rooftop, and the thunderclouds summoned by their teammate gathered. They heard Rogue cry out in distress below them, and at the same time heard the dry flapping of Sauron's wings, barely audible over the rising howl of the winds.

"Magneto! You have hounded the innocents under Xavier's care for too long!" cried Storm. "Now, you who have styled yourself the master of all mutants, will be humbled by one of those whom you would command!"

Rain drops began to spatter, as the rumble of thunder grew. Erin Lensherr squinted up into the clouds, growing oddly nervous. "Raven, perhaps a little aid..." His statement was cut short, as a peal of thunder deafened those nearby.

SHRAKA-BOOM!

A fork of lighting lanced down from the sky, arcing directly into the Master of Magnetism's chest.

"Arrrgh!" Magneto staggered against the corner of the nearby building, clutching his heart.

As the rain slackened and the sun appeared from behind dark clouds, Storm lowered herself back onto the roof. Sweat stood out, beaded on her forehead. The effort has cost her, but the result was worth it.

I suppose we ought to get used to the new rules. Even if that means a lot of pain for me.

Not sure what you have planned pushing Marrow to move that one space, unless you wanted to just get her into regeneration, but actually, it rather messes us a couple of things I had in mind.

Anyway, a greatly weakened Magneto will try to hit Storm with the LO behind him in L17. AV5 against DV15 +2 ESD +1 Hindering. Basically he needs a 12, and even Mystique's Perplex won't help. Rolls an 8. Well it was a long shot.

Magneto lashed back out at Storm flinging a trash can at her, but between his pain and his rage, his control was gone. Storm easily used her winds to blow the weapon harmlessly off course.
