Norman Osborn that can lose it and become Green Goblin mid-dial.
Iron Patriot that can become Norman Osborn end-dial.
Basically Norman has both an orange starting line and a special power.
Green Goblin has an orange starting line.
Iron Patriot has a special power.
That way you can play as a full-on Green Goblin, or a slightly insane scientist millionaire who becomes a slightly weaker Green Goblin, or the Celebrity Dark Avenger, who becomes a crazed Norman Osborn once his armor is destroyed.
Plays with all the events we've seen Norman do over the years.

Wouldn't Norman Osborn, theoretically, be cheaper than Iron Patriot? I can't see Normie being more expensive than Normie-in-armour. So an Iron Patriot turning into Norman Osborn would be... odd, by the standards of the AE's we've already seen.
With Characters like Rulk, Sentry, and Prime running around your complaining about Deadpool.
I despise most Comic Characters, but they still have a place on the battlefield. Heck the only reason I play Sentry is so I can watch him get trounced.
Sorry I don't hate good characters. Just the dumb overused ones. Coughdeadpoolbatmanlukecagecough

Something like this:
Iron Patriot has 8 clicks of life.
Green Goblin has the same 8 clicks of life.
Norman Osborn has 5 clicks of life.
On his Second and third clicks Norman Osborn can turn into the Green Goblin with 3-4 clicks of life left.
When Iron Patriot has taken 5-6 clicks of damage, he has the power to turn into Norman Osborn with 2 clicks of life left.
Norman Osborn himself is mostly about Enhancement and Outwit.
Green Goblin is similar to the FF version, with "upgraded" stats, and more late dial outwit.
Iron Patriot starts with Outwit, but in the late dial is mostly about dealing physical damage.
That way you can upgrade from a support piece into something that can deal damage as well, or if you need someone with support powers you can get outwit by changing Iron Patriot into Norman, so that Venom and Moonstone don't have to worry about Spider-Man's Senses when they attack?
And in each case you get an extra click of life or two in the process.

There is a lot of different ways they can utilize the Alter Ego mechanic.
Have Peter Parker turn into symbiote Spidey or armored Spidey from Civil War.
Tony Stark turn into Iron Man of War Machine (dont forget, he wore that suit first in the comics).
Hal Jordan-Green Lantern/Parallax
After seeing the WOS-M poster, and the Norman Osborne / Green Goblin / Iron Patriot pictures, I think it would be cool if as an Alter Ego, Norman could turn into EITHER Goblin OR Patriot when you hit the special power... if both GG and IP have orange lines, then you could decide which direction of crazy Norman goes as he gets hit... I think that would be a very cool adaptation of the AE rules.
(Forgive me if this has been discussed on that long thread about the poster... I just can't bring myself to dive into that one.)
That will be interesting, maybe it will be a double alter-ego, cool!

ooooh combine that with my idea for symbiote turning into spider-man or venom...
multiple branching paths for AE's to possible have. confusing for some, but them's options baby!
I miss? PC it. You hit? PC it. I hit? I can do better, PC anyways. You miss? I DIDN'T SEE SNAKE EYES, PC IT!

Characters get used roughly in correlation to their popularity. If people didn't like Deadpool, Batman, and Luke Cage, they wouldn't get used as much. People demand them, so the companies supply more.
