this was my second win since I began playing! HAHAHA! Awesome sauce.
Town didn't even bother me
Yeah, I was incredibly surprised by that. Not to mention the fact that they were going to lynch you randomly, and decided that this game would be the one that they would stop doing that. Of all the lousy times to do it...
So with these notes I'm about to post, please note that I wrote them as they were happening. I am doing some minor editing, but it's strictly for clarity and/or grammar mistakes:
Day 1 Notes:
- Wow, everyone really got right to the alternate win condition aspect. Definitely gave the Mafia some clue as to the town's identity.
- Props to malakim2099 for figuring out the real abbreviation for AWC. He really wanted that AWC, I suppose, what with all of the posting.
- CaptThulkman really drew a lot of attention with his vote grabbing, and I'm really surprised to see everyone hand their votes over without really questioning why. Good thing he's not Mafia...
- Interesting ploy from DarqFeonix trying to "wonder" why I would include Neutrals, in an attempt to lynch CaptThulkman. It doesn't seem to be working however.
- charlesx really gave off some huge Mafia tells (maybe I'm just a little biased), it seemed to me, but for some reason only malakim2099 seemed to notice it.
- Best part of Day 1 for me: Seeing everyone practically throwing their votes at CaptThulkman, and he just threw the votes at No lynch.
Night 1 Notes:
- malakim2099 is the winner here, blocking the Mafia kill.
- A number of people targeted DarqFeonix, despite no real reason to. I suppose that is just something that happens?
- I caused a bit of confusion to CaptThulkman with his role PM. I put in one of his powers that he can only collect one PM a night, but I forgot to most it in other places, namely his AWC. I felt bad because it ended up making him reveal his role way too early, but props to him for rolling with it.
Day 2 Notes:
- I was worried malakim2099 was gonna lose the post count lead to CaptThulkman, but he managed to jump right back in it and have the most posts for the second day in a row, which is vital to his AWC.
- When Linkor tried to take his vote back from CaptThulkman and throw it around, what he didn't know was that he no longer had a vote. CaptThulkman permanently acquired it, and that was hilarious to me for whatever reason.
- I thought that everyone was catching on to charlesx. Too bad for the town it stalled out at the end.
- Hm, a second Mafia member throwing their vote at CaptThulkman. I wonder if that will come back to bite them...
Night 2 Notes:
- Holy moly this was confusing. A lot of failures and redirection tonight, which ended up making me so confused I had to PM Magnito and ask him how to handle it.
- Particularly amusing moments: Fredwood tried to guide Grinner, who was already dead, Velius used DarqFeonix's BD power to switch malakim2099 and charlesx (the main source of my confusion, by the way), rorschachparadox sent malakim2099 a letter, intending to tell him of charlesx's target, unknowing that because of the BD, his target was now malakim2099 himself (who had been MD to justphilthy), but still written on the letter that charlesx targeted justphilthy, and both the SK and the Mafia targeting spworldtour, who was inactive, and spworldtour walked away clean thanks to some nutty misdirection.
Day 3 Notes:
- Darq got another chance to try his "lynch CaptThulkman" hand again. I'm kind of surprised it worked so well, seeing as how everyone seems to have forgotten about charlesx from yesterday.
- The Mafia hasn't forgotten though, and they're playing brilliant in my opinion, and although blocked thanks to a lucky MD (coming from their own Don, no less), having charlesx not target anyone was brilliant. The only way it could've gone better for them would be to have actually gotten the kill. Charles managed to completely fly under the radar, but I attribute that partially to malakim2099 not being super active like the previous days.
- Poor CaptThulkman, though really, he should've known that open vote collecting would get him put into the limelight at some point. The saddest part about the whole thing is that while both DarqFeonix and CaptThulkman were accusing each other of being liars, only the Neutral was telling the truth, which I thought was rather funny.
- I was really hoping ThorKnigh83 would've come into the thread after CaptThulkman leaked his clue, and daykilled DarqFeonix. That would have been insanely funny (and probably would've lead to a next day lynch of ThorKnigh83, since his alt win left him in the game).
- It's hard to tell whether or not lynching CaptThulkman was a good idea. On one hand, he took two-thirds of the Mafia votes away. On the other hand, he was kind of actively helping them (which he didn't really know about, but I doubt he would've cared anyway after DarqFeonix began the train if he had known).
- Dunno why, but SkyKushryd's single post was pure genius to me. I'm sure the Town won't feel the same way if and when they find out.
- CaptThulkman's comment that it would be funny if there were only townsfolk with AWCs was something I had actually considered, but ultimately, I decided against it, as I didn't want to detract TOO much from the actual Mafia game.
- If I ever attempt something like this again, the five days in a row requirement for the Post Counters should probably just be moved to five period if that role re-emerges, to account for days they are less active (not to mention that because there are two of them, it's likely neither of them are not going to get it).
- DarqFeonix is probably gonna catch a lot of heat in other games for this. I don't think he minds right now though...
Night 3 Notes:
- It should be interesting to see if silencing Fredwood leads others to suspect him of anything (which I'm certain the Mafia will try to insinuate). I doubt it, since once silencing comes into play, things seem to get muddled a bit. I'm curious whether or not the Mafia will try to not post as well.
- Kinda screwed up the saving of Immortal_Raven, as spworldtour did the saving. I mixed up the Knight and the Hero roles, but ultimately it sounds alright, so no harm, no foul there.
- Speaking of which, spworldtour made a huge, yet unknowing last-second save. I was just about to post the results of the night, when I got SP's action, which miraculously saved IR from being killed off. That was pure dumb luck, but it was kinda cool.
- The Mafia got screwed over by CaptThulkman, even in death, as they forgot to use the JK power that was provided from the loss of charlesx's vote (which is also now gone).
Day 4 Notes:
- I'm really starting to feel like I'm letting my inner n00b show. I'm getting swamped at work, but also I'm too darned excited to wait until the end to tell everyone about what has been going on behind the curtain. Hopefully I can reign myself back in.
- Wait, gfish is leaving his vote to a Mafia member who doesn't have a vote? This could get interesting...
- I think everything is beginning to stall out. I'm beginning to wonder if this was a good idea. Everyone seems kind of frustrated, if they're even posting at all. Hopefully that's just my perception.
- Once again, charlesx was brought up, but dropped just as quickly. You were so close, malakim2099! I don't know if charlesx has been intentionally keeping away from the thread, or if he's just been away in general, but regardless, it seems to be working.
- Man, and they almost had SkyKushryd too? Points to Sky though, since he made a pretty good alibi. Well, at least until a certain someone sees it.
- When rorscach posted asking if anyone wanted his results, I was rather shocked to not see Mafia jumping all over that. I think Linkor volunteered, but I don't know yet if RP is gonna trust him enough.
Night 4 Notes:
- This was the quickest I've ever gotten submissions in before. Gave me plenty of time to figure out what exactly was going on, which there was a lot.
- malakim2099 died thanks to unfortunately not continuing to RB charlesx, who finally got revenge from a prior game, according to charlesx.
- spworldtour is truly deserving of his role as the Hero. He was just about to get replaced, and came back in, and managed to save Immortal_Raven and gfishfunk back to back nights, managing not to die in the process both times.
- Speaking of which, gfishfunk's submission for SkyKushryd was oddly appropriate for SkyKushryd's role. I think it will lead to a lynch on Skykushryd, seeing as how no one as of yet has had 'Mr.' in their name. It might not have gotten anywhere if gfishfunk had died, which is why spworldtour saving him is even more important. I am starting to wonder if spworldtour is spying on me somehow.
- If gfishfunk realizes that he avoided a kill, adamical might be able to work with him and they could end up stringing Quebbster as well. I was starting to think the Mafia and the SK might skate by completely unnoticed, but I might just get proven wrong yet!
- Well, the Mafia has finally realized that they no longer have their votes. I wonder if that will lead to excuses on why they didn't vote on any future lynches.
- Well, nevermind on that whole gfishfunk figuring out Sky. All he knows is that his target is ???.
- Thanks to crazy shenanigans, this is actually the first night where the Mafia killed anyone at all. I'm sure they'll be happy...
- The Mafia caught a huge break with rorschachparadox sending not only his target info, but also basically told them that he's a Princess. I think I know who their next target is...
Day 5 Notes:
- I feel as if the last Day phase was a fluke, in terms of how I was feeling the game was going. Maybe I was just over thinking it. Who knows? But of course the one day I go and head right to sleep after work and go play Magic when I wake up before work is the day that everyone is going nuts with the amount of posts. I don't know yet if that's how I wish it could be all the time or not.
- Wow, gfishfunk putting out a warrant for Sky's death pretty early. Seeing as how everyone seems to be grasping at straws here for a lead, I don't see Sky pulling out of this one, especially since his fellow Mafia buddies don't have votes anymore. I'm still trying to figure out how he figured it out anyways.
- Maybe others won't interpret it this way, but the way Linkor worded his verification of RP's power makes it seem like he knows more than he's letting on. Wonder if he'll make it through the day without being questioned.
- I am curious how gfishfunk is putting together his claim. It seems more of a broken clock than anything, but who knows?
- So I guess the way I worded RP's PM to the Mafia was not correct. I figured since charlesx was untrackable, that any result of tracking him would end up giving him a ??? result instead. I also ensured that I did not give him a specific name, I merely said "your target." Regardless, I will have to better next time in that regard.
- gfishfunk was going absolutely crazy with his voting. I can see where he could think some things, but why he wouldn't think he was the actor is beyond me.
- I am extremely shocked that they didn't end up lynching anyone. They pretty much had the Mafia all fingered one way or another, and yet still failed to ultimately come to a decision. In fact, spworldtour was probably the most knowing of the situation at hand, and he ended up getting a few votes on him for good measure. Should make this an interesting night phase...
Night 5 Notes:
- First night there were actually two kills in a phase. The Mafia was right to target malakim2099, as he had been a gigantic pain in their rear for quite some time. Their plan to take out the most active members seemed to be working to their advantage.
- Oops! Just realized I messed up on N4, as Quebbster's PGO status should have killed adamical. Oh well, too late now, but man that sucks.
- No one failed tonight, largely in part due to Velius not submitting an action. Could come back to hurt the town, but it could've been a blessing, depending on who he was planning on targeting.
- It also turns out that I am not subconsciously submitting my notes to spworldtour, though for the last two days, it's certainly felt that way. Too bad Quebbster finally caught up with him.
Day 6 Notes:
- Dang, that went rather quickly. SkyKushryd tried to make a quick SK claim, but it quickly fell apart, and Quebbster just hammered him, which seems a tad ironic for some reason.
- There's really not much else to say about Day 6, it went just like that. It's sort of amusing because I know they all seemed to know that SkyKushryd was Mafia, but the reason that gfishfunk had provided was a little odd logic. I guess them's the breaks.
Night 6 Notes:
- Well, adamical went and did it, and what a time to turn on the town. After breaking apart SkyKushryd's fake claim quickly, he goes and takes his place. Now that's nasty, and certainly what I'd expect for a former villain such as him. This makes me feel even worse that I messed up adamical's targeting of Quebbster, but once again, it simply can't be helped right now.
- With the turn, that leaves both sides at 3, plus the SK Quebbster being the wildcard. So far he's been pro-town during the day, but anti-town at night (inadvertently, I'm sure). However, it becomes interesting because only one Mafia member has a vote left, and it's their recent convert adamical. That will make it effectively impossible to get a lynch during the day, so they really need to get some nightkills in.
- Immortal_Raven PM'd me the day before, and told me that his keeping quiet was intentional, and activated his other part of the role, which is that he must complain or gripe or rant in every post. He used it to his advantage, and just nearly edged out rorschachparadox for the most posts, allowing him to make possibly the most interesting RB of the phase, going after adamical, and preventing a crucial town death from his turn.
- Speaking of that, if adamical had actually made the kill, he would have been outed by name in the write-up (basically marking him for death himself). However, because he was blocked, I'm going to give him a fighting chance, and just post that someone went to the Mafia. If Immortal_Raven is on though, he should probably figure it out.
- Man, Velius is seriously keeping Quebbster in check. I wonder if he knows something.
- So rorscachparadox targeted charlesx again, and I knew I had to do this better, so I merely told rorscachparadox that his action failed. Hopefully that will do better than before.
- I'm calling it right now, this game is going to be decided based on which side Quebbster wants to fall on. He got questioned a few nights ago, but no one has said anything since, so I think he's going to try and slide by for now with the town. I think he has a really good chance of taking this one.
Day 7 Notes:
- Immortal_Raven is definitely stepping it up for the end game. He's already fingering adamical as the traitor, I'm assuming due to the RB from last night.
- However, insane props must also be given to adamical. Holy crap does he have a good cover. Dude's practically untouchable right now. I was super impressed with how well thought out his claim was.
- Well, Velius has definitely figured out who Quebbster is. It looks like everyone's convinced too, but if Immortal_Raven doesn't vote, they aren't taking out anyone.
- This phase's end results will decide the game. If the town lynches Quebbster, then they will likely not have enough resources to combat the rest of the Mafia, especially without their doctor. They need a Mafia lynch, and I'm wondering if Quebbster is going to claim something in order to try and wiggle out of this situation, or possibly tell them of their current situation, in an effort to save himself.
- Well, they got Quebbster tied up and lynched. This should pose quite the dilemma for the town. It leaves three town, and three Mafia, and therefore the town will be unable to win. Without anyone able to kill Mafia during the night, this should pretty much wrap up the game. Night 7 at this point is a formality.
Night 7 Notes:
- I didn't really want to end the game on a Night phase, so I let this one pass by. Immortal_Raven once more got an RB in, but chose the wrong target, and in addition to Velius not picking a target, led to Velius' death overnight.
- I don't know how other games end off the top of my head, but having everyone brutally murdered was kind of the status quo at this point.
- Man, what a crazy, crazy game. I just hope everyone had fun, cause I certainly did.
Did not suspect Adam. Was pretty sure Linkor's "misunderstanding" my posts meant he was mafia tryin not to help me implicate Charles.
I pretty much figured charles and Linkor, and guessed adam as the traitor. Too little, too late. My attention was divided between this and Mags' game and since I was rocking it in Mags game, this took a backseat.
Congratz to the winners, you may or may not feel my full wrath in the future due to an indeterminate number of factors. Let that possibly be a warning to you.
I was just really surprised that malakim2099 was able to out charlesx on Day 2, and he managed to make it until the end anyways. I am extremely jealous of his luck.
Anyways, I already have another idea for a new Mafia game, but this one will have a legitimate theme, and not just a gimmick. Something I know very well. Not sure if anyone will be interested, but I hope you guys had enough fun in this game to try a new game: U.S. Army Mafia! I am still roughing out the edges, but I think it has the potential to be much better than this one.

I'd prefer U.S. Air Force as I am an Air Force brat, but Army is cool.
