The device did have a strange name. And Tom had a part of the name, "vacuum". But that's the last part and it's a two word name.
Let me try to think of a good new hint. And while you're waiting, you can run down to the local comicbook shop and pick up an issue of "Torch", part one (of eight) on sale now. As the Original Human Torch gets ready for a return.
Kinda why I was surprised this summer with Pepsi releasing "Throwback", made with cane sugar syrup instead of Corn Syrup. Been awhile since they did that in the USA.
I tried that, too, and was similarly unimpressed. I guess I've been drinking the diet version so long, the regular seems heavy and overwhelming to me.
"Vacuum" is the second of two words used as the name of this device. The first part of the name has been used by a rock band from Amsterdam for their band's name, but in plural form. The band formed in 1999.
Another hint; And this is for all of you car historians;
This name was also used as the name for a type of American automobile transmission that is considered to be the first fully automatic mass-produced transmission.
O.K. going from the hint I'll guess it was called the Mercomaticvacuum or Mercovacuum. I have a friend who has a classic Mecury with one of the first automatic transmitions. I think it first came out as a Cruise-o-matic or Ford-o-matic but going with what I put above.

Those came after the Hydromatic, which was a GMC thing. The Merco whatever was a Ford thing that came out later. So, sorry, wrong answer. Unlike the professor who posted after you.

And professor DiZo gets it, tho left off the "vacuum". Still, that was a given.
The Hydromatic Vacuum was a gigantic device created by Professor Marko. It was built on a pressurized observatory atop Kingdom Mountain, It's suction was more powerful then a vietnamese prostitute. Powerful enough to capture all of the Earth's atmosphere.
As a side not, I just want to point out the name of the mountain. Those of you who know of Disney's recent purchase probably know of "Magic Kingdom" and hence my thinking of that question. Magic Mountain is known as "hydro" thermal vent in and around Vancover Isle and a ride at Six Flags (california), which is something of a Disney imitation when it comes to theme parks.
From the clues, I am going to guess Hydromatic, like in the lyrics to the Grease song, Greased Lightning.
And please, stop singing. Or at least do an Elvis impersonation. Maybe sing to your wife, "Love Me Tender" or something. Just don't do "Teddy Bear", CuCr does that song for his wife. He might hear you're better or something. It'd be too much pressure for him to take.
Name the pair of villainous brothers who were in two separate, unrelated villain teams back in the Seventies.
Okay, that's a tough one. The original Eel and Viper were brothers but I don't recall them being on two separate villain teams.
I know the Clown of the Circus of Crime and Thunderball of the Wrecking Crew have the same real name, Elliot Franklin; but somehow I doubt they're brothers.
Hmm....Viper was previously with a group of villains who had no collective name in the comics, but later references have called them "Crime Wave". Would that be what you mean? Crime Wave and the Serpent Squad?
