Good hint...I remembered the character (looking remarkably like a Red and Gold Ultraman but couldn't remember his name w/o the hint)...
Robotman!
Jet Jaguar was the inspiration for the character, and JJ was inspired by Ultraman, so, either way, he was called "Robotman".
It was my comment about "resolve" that gave it away, right?
Its not all that common an expression, really. Not sure what I'd suggest instead, though, other than a reference to Donald Fagen.
Then there's Bob Steele, actor best known for westerns in the 20's-50's and a regular role in the series F-Troop in the 60's who used an in-joke on the show of stating he'd fought alongside Davy Crockett at teh Alamo, when he'd actually done a movie in the 20's called "With Davy Crockett at the Fall of The Alamo".
And there's actually a product on the market called "Stainless Steel Polish". If it's stainless, why do you have to polish it?
Cause even stainless steel can have grime build up on it. Tho, usually, it doesn't take much to clean it off.
So, my guess is, they sell it because some people aren't very bright and would buy it. As the old saying goes, a fool and his money are soon parted. Just ask that some of those people who won millions of dollars years ago and are now bankrupt.

The thread is yours, Knightwraithe.
Thanks JTR...
Not sure how hard this question will be...(not in actual mythology)...What was the last labor of Hercules and who came up with it (they were also surprised he succeeded)?
And actually JTR the part of the hint that helped was that it was both a DC and a Marvel hero...Never heard of Jet Jaguar (may have to look that up)...but I've been a fan of Ultraman for a LOT longer than I'll ever admit.

You never saw "Godzilla Vs Megalon"? Dumbest 'Zilla flick ever, not counting the Gino flick. In it, Godzilla gets a little help from Jet Jaguar, an Ultraman rip-off. But, the guy is well remembered in his own right.
If you ever get a chance to see the flick, try to get teh long version. It's better uneditted then the shorter version which cuts scenes of human violence (tho it's pretty fake violence). These scenes add to the plot. Otherwise you might misunderstand some of what's happening in the flick. That, and the nude scene in the pick-up truck is often cut.

Do you mean his last labor in the mythological days, or his last labor going by the comicbook a few years ago when he took on 12 new labors as part of a TV series ?

Sorry I wasn't clear before...That's what I meant by not from mythology...I'm talking about the comic miniseries where he did a reality show for TV...
And no it wasn't a drinking contest with Amy...though if you wanted to go there a real challenge might be a drinking contest with Robert Downey Jr...
