If someone says your writing looks like you read a lot, what does that mean? It seems so cryptic to me -_-;

To me it says one of a couple things:

1) your work is derivative

OR

2) you make reference to different sources

Well she said I was a good writer then said I was a very promising writer, then she asked if I read a lot because my writing seems like I read a lot -_-; professors, how do they work?

Also derivitive- no dictionary results

I don't know, because I haven't read a book that wasn't a comic in like 2 years -_-;
