I knew I was angry yesterday when the thought crossed my mind. I know he is in a bad financial situation and taking it out on me and other employees, but that is no excuse for the abuse he has been dishing out.


I am not normally a rash individual, so when the thought crossed my mind, I immediatly got up, walked to my truck and locked the gun in my car safe until I could get home. ( I have had to pull it one night, when there were 2 people that confronted me in the parking lot, one directly and the other tried to sneak up on me.)


Somehow the failure of a 8 year old phone system that I have been asking for a replacement in the budget for 3 years is personally my fault. Now my telling him that when something is that important to the business, there should be a hot standby, did not go over well. I got the thing back working at about 75%, it is passing incoming/outgoing calls, but VMail and some extensions are hosed.

On the one hand, you did give the guy fair warning. How is he blaming you?

On the other hand...it's only 8 years old. Why is that already ancient and needing to be replaced?

In terms of a Server that is ancient, and there are cheaper more efficient ways of doing it now.

In the 18 months, it has suffered a RAID controller and 2 HD failures. The problem is it runs 24/7 365 and runs an archaic software package with crazy expensive Expansion Cards to handle VoiP and Analog calls that run very hot and is rough on the machine.

That sounds like our phone system, which I think has to be at least 20 years old.

This place has been a ghost town today.

Trying to figure out what to bring and what not to bring with me at this point. Need a new laptop as my personal one is 8 years old but I don't know yet :-/. Nervous as I am not sure how things are going to work out either :s.

I had 2 phone interviews today and one led into a real interview tomorrow, and another probably Monday.

Not going to happen, but I did put his staples upside down in his stapler on Monday.

I might remote wipe his phone tomorow, he is not smart enough to set it back up himself so he has to bring it to me to fix.

It's too bad he didn't watch a PSA about exposing oneself.
