Haven, are you getting any of the new Heroclix set, based on the DCAU?
I went to the release event last night.
A couple of other guys bought a case or two and I was really impressed with the paint jobs and quality. I literally cannot remember a set so well done by Wizkids.
I have two packs worth of stuff and am motivated to get my trades in order to pick more up. I got Hawkgirl and want to unload her for two Super Rares.
I know that a couple of you have read my Suburban Park Scene Blog Post.
It just got amped up a few weeks ago.
As many of you may know, I play Pokémon Go. In fact, the park of the original story is a great place to play the game and many Trainers meet up there.
A few weeks ago, I stopped at a more remote Forest Preserve location. The parking lot is crushed limestone and holds only about 10 cars total. From the lot, a crushed limestone path leads off into wilderness in both directions.
There's a Pokémon Gym in the parking lot. I stopped in one of the many empty slots. While I was battling the Gym, a woman rode up on a bicycle. She stopped at a Dog Bag station near my vehicle. Since she had no dog, my curiosity was peaked. She started to pull on the line of bags. I figured she needed A bag for some reason I could not discern. And I'm fine with that. But she moved her hand in a circular motion, wrapping bag after bag around her hand until the had easily a dozen, and then she broke it off. I had taken note of her when she arrived. Decided she was no threat and had gone back to my game. But I'd seen her out of the corner of my eye, and by this point I was looking right at her. To my amazement, she repeated the process a second time after looking right at me.
Personally, I think the existence of Dog Bag Stations is a testament to the failure of society. Sure, it may seem small, but it's the underlying sense of entitlement that fries me. The fact that people did not pick up after their animals for so long and in such numbers, that fines didn't do the trick is sad. When society got to the point that the tax dollars of people who DON'T own pets are being used to pay for making, stocking, and restocking these stations, that's a sad commentary on the responsibility level of society in general. Because when you can't be bothered to pay to buy your own bags, or save the ones that you got from the grocery store, (reduce, REUSE, recycle! Dammit!) you really need to reevaluate whether or not you are responsible enough to own a pet. And the fact that others are picking up the tab is really a pity.
But this lady took it to a whole new level.
I wanted to say something like, "Have you no shame?" But I didn't because I know the answer. I've learned the hard way that no one has any shame anymore. No matter how right you are, and how wrong the other is, you are always the bad guy for calling them out. So I just sat there reflecting on the situation.
And I want to know....why was she taking them? What was she using them for?
I can see taking a couple with you for future walks or to keep in your truck or car that you take your dogs in or whatever, but what the heck would she want that many for?
If she was a nefarious poop and run bandit, she would not need bags in the first place so I got no idea.

Yes. As much as I am opposed to the existence of the damn things and the tax dollars of people who don't have dogs going o the double irresponsibility of those who do, I would have paid her taking one or two bags little mind.
