So killing is not illegal now??? Ig you kill someone in the face of a battle but the flat out murder oif Swordsman, the attempt on Songbird and Dr Samson and doping up Robbie full of drugs. I agree not Hitler evil but still truly evil in my book
To me Ares is truly Neutal. Sure he is helping out now but he has been evil for 9/10 of his career and the only reason he joined was to protect his son. To me he is like Shade
Ok, and everything they've done has been sanctioned by the government. Why is Norman getting away with everything he's doing? Because he's gotten the Presidents personal stamp of approval to do these things. He has a free license at this point.
Basically, what I'm saying, is I'd never say they were 'Good'. I'm saying they themselves, the people at large in the Marvel U, and the US Government there, says and believes that they're good. I'm saying, that if Peers so wished, I would permit him to claim 'Good', ala the story, and recruit 'Good Guys' to his team.
I'm ALSO saying, that this 'Evil' rap they have is overrated. They haven't DONE all that freaking much to be considered 'Evil', other than 'Hire' murderers. Have they plotted the downfall of humanity? or have they saved the city in dubious ways? They over threw Iron Man, they hunted the Avnegers. Are those things 'evil' or 'wrong'? no. Iron Man kinda deserved it, and the Avengers ARE underground for a reason. If it wasn't Norman, it'd be the regular U.S. Pro Regs. Their 'Evil', is mostly Marvel hype.
This is why I consider them neutral.

Nice argument...BUT...this is the guy who killed Gwen Stacy. This is the guy who is blackmailing his own son with the lure of Harry's spawn who is in reality Norman's own kid! This is the guy who sends Venom out on runs to kill and eat prostitutes (and according to FF Dark Reign 3, lawyers). In my opinion, calling Dark Avengers "neutral" is much less defendable than calling the Skrull Army "neutral" just because they were following orders.
But...Nightcrawler really has been my favorite character for years.
"Legitimate" does not equal "Good". But when it comes down to it, the debate doesn't really matter... they're my team, and I say they're evil, dammit.
... even tho I was looking for a heroic team since my League-1 team is evil...
... dammit, forgot about that...
... ah, well. No members in common between the two teams.
I'm prefering to look at the Dark Avengers as "Okay, here's what -would- have happened to the Thunderbolts if they hadn't had a group change-of-concience... and if they'd had serious government backing... and if the heroes didn't all return to stop them. Which means I'll be happy as all get-out if the team to finally bring down Osborne is made up mostly of original Thunderbolts... perhaps with Baron Zemo to say, "Osborne... take villains and dress them up as heroes? Honestly, if I were a lesser man, I'd sue. But I'll leave that up to my lawyers."

Yes, and he was legally pardoned for his times of lunacy (Gwen Stacy). Norman blackmailing Harry is no worse than anything Nick Fury did during his tenure (Secret War?) and the lawyers comment was an off hand remark. Does Venom actually go on hooker/lawyer eating rampages? Nope. The only two people I've actually seen him eat and kill are two political terrorists.

Venom "I ate you lawyers, they taste good with tartar sauce"
and yeah i would love that scenario too bad the guy in charge of Marvel thinks Zemo is one of the worst characters ever(his words) and would be happuy if he never saw light of day again.
But maybe Hawkeye will do it. Round up Mellisa, Abe, Fixer, Jolt, Charcoal, Goliath and for a twist Harry

By that logic Lex Luthor has been good almost his entire post-crisis career. It wasn't until mid-presidency did the population at large consider him a villain.

No, Luthor was evil. Just because he's in charge of the U.S.A, doesn't mean America's Evil. Norman's evil, for sure. Have the Dark Avengers done anything evil? Not really.
The Chief is neutral. Is the Doom Patrol neutral? No, they're good.

For me I think the greatest ending to Dark Reign would be a Zemo/Steve Rogers team-up where they kick the living #### out of Norman.

No, but you say DA are good because the people think they are good.
The people thought Lex was good. It's why he got away with his crimes. No one could believe that Metropolis first (human) citizen would be capable of such evil.

yeah, and I would rule a 'Luthor's Cabinet' team with Luthor, Black Lightning, and Waller neutral too
