I'd say it's safe to assume that KARMA got back at him for his comments. HA!
Ths is how I feel about it, Stan. You go through life exuding bad energy and sooner or later it will come right back and bite you in the rear. That is how some people bring down their own worst punishment on themselves.

I am on Book 3 and am hooked, big time. The only thing I don't like is that there are supposed to be 7 total novels in the series and only 5 have been published so far. I'm gonna hate waiting between books after I have finished what is out there thus far. I must say, though, I have not been this addicted to a series in quite a while - and I tend to be very picky when it comes to genre stuff like fantasy. I would give the Song of Ice and Fire series (Game of Thrones) four out of four stars - highly recommended.
Welcome to my world. I got hooked on Game of Thrones about a decade ago - I remember getting the first three books (AKA all the books published at that point) for my 23rd birthday. It's been a loong wait - I don't own A Feast For Crows though (the series I collected ceased publication before AFFC), and I haven't even read A Dance With Dragons yet. Then again, my birthday us coming up soon...
My PC is being dumb again and won't let me access the RotJ google doc. As soon as I can get to it, I'll start writing the write-up. I'd expect it tonight at some point.
Bureaucracy is fun. I had to speak to four different people before someone was able to answer a fairly straightforward question, then I had to visit three different web sites to find the document they want to get from me...
So, something off topic yet nevertheless relevant...
This weekend the weather was pretty awesome in my neck of the woods. Saturday morning, my oldest daughter Jackie walked in the local St. Patrick's Day parade with her girl scout troop. The next day, I told her that I was going to the comic book store and she asked to join me - so off we went.
While we were shopping at the store, a man in a wheelchair came in. He was being pushed along by what seemed to be his girlfriend. The guy had no legs after mid-thigh and was missing a few fingers from each hand. What struck me as particularly sad was that he was very young, probably around 20 or so.
I overheard him asking the store owner where he could find The Walking Dead TPB's. As it turns out, it was not too far from where Jackie and I stood. Since the young man was still talking about TWD, I made a friendly comment about how great a series it was. He replied, agreeing, and told me that when he was stationed in Afghanistan his Dad would send him the trades. Since then, "this" had happened (as he gestured towards himself) and now that he was back stateside he had some catching up to do. It was a nice and short conversation, and soon thereafter Jackie and I left the store to go back home.
On the way back, my daughter asked me about the young man in the wheelchair and I told her that he was a soldier who had been hurt in the war. It was one of those moments when you have to stop, take note of the blessings that you have in your life and give thanks for what you have, no matter how small it may seem to others.
Anyhow, I had a crappy time last week and am hoping for a better one this week. Just wanted to share that moment with you all. Sometimes it's very hard to maintain perspective, but if you got up this morning and walked around while you got ready to start your day, and actually were able to do your usual routine without assistance, you have already accomplished what some unlucky people out there wish they were able to take for granted.
Again, just a few thoughts that have crossed my mind this morning.

My assessment of my own life this past weekend is only further proven by this story, Charles. Thank you for sharing. This is the reality I needed to see.
Played in a Clix Tourney for the Champion which I won using a Maelstrom and Gamora team. Maelstrom, btw, is a beast.
Then moved on and chilled with Entropy at a few bars for St. Patrick's day.
Went back to VT on Sunday and spent the day outside on my Mom's deck with family for my Grandma's birthday. Really relaxing weekend. I only hope everyone else had the same.
In the words of George Lucas: What do you want, a wookie?
How about now, Mal? Still want one?

So tempted to run a Game of Thrones Season 1/Book 1 mafia game.
In all honesty, though, if I were to consider modding again I really would need to reboot Revenge Mafia and finish that game before putting another one out there...

On Saturday a friend invited me to a Lebanese restaurant and I was treated to a tremendous buffet.
I'm going to be the best man at his wedding in May and on Saturday I met his wife's maid of honour for the first time. Geez. He said I only have to get along with her for one day, but that will be difficult enough.
On Sunday I was nursing my stomach ache. Totally worth it.

well it was a pretty good weekend. But now we are getting some severe weather here in west Tx so that sucks but oh well. It means most of my patients will probably cancel today so i can just chill.
