Well, I am giving it to Sir Thomas, but Mr. Cherry actually came closest to the "real-world" significance.
November 22, 1940 was the day Roy Thomas was born. (I'm sure the Rascally One loved stating that his beloved JSA came into existence on the same day he did.)
Take it away, Tom.
I thought he was born later, like in the early 1950's. Ah, well.
OK, didn't get a PM but I do check from time to time
"I offered the world wonders, miracles of science and art -
and all I asked in return was Green lantern's ring and one other object of power!
I travelled in an unconventional manner and the public tide was turned against me by an unlikely hero"
1. Who am I?
2. What was the other object of power?
3. What was my mode of transportation?
4. who was the unlikely hero?
(The source material is an awesome read IMO)
Je Suis Charlie!

Hooray for multipart questions! They allow me to guess more. : )
My guesses include:
1) Chronos
2) the Absorbascon
3) A flying sundial
4) The Elongated Man
--mmmm, Silver Agey.

When our story opens, the Question is investigating an impossible locked-room murder mystery involving a midget and a 6'6"-tall call girl into heavy bondage. Don't worry, I'll explain later. It's all vitally relevant.

You're Tom. The other Object was an Jack Nicholson autographed copy of the first in series Michael Keaton Batman DVD's , your unlikely mode of transport was the NYC subway system and the unlikely hero was CuCr (who only stepped in because he wanted the DVD all to himself.

No, and I actually don't think I'd like to read that story!

I read your diary, as written by Brian Michael Bendis. He'll get back to it later, but right now, he's doing a rewrite on "The Diary Of Anne Frank" for Marvel. And since Disney is buying them out, he has to remove all traces of of the word "Nazi" and variations thereof.

Can I ask which Green Lantern? I mean, there's the Hal type ring that didn't work on Yellow, the Kyle type ring that worked on just about everythingand then my fave, the Alan Scott ring which wouldn't work on wood or things of a celluose nature.

Good question!
it was the ring of the original Green Lantern (the one that didn't work on wood)

Well, that's confusing, I just thought Roy was like 20 or so when he started. Totally forgot he started in the late 1960's.
Mid-60s, actually; '65 or '66, something like that.

I never, ever thought I'd say this, but....so do I. Not because I suddenly have new respect for the job he did back then, but because I've seen how very much worse it can be. Kind of the same way Stephen Shortridge made me miss John Travolta on Welcome Back, Kotter.
