On another note - related to above topics - the MtG game is leaving me feeling racist. Every time I refer to someone as Black or White, I feel like I have to qualify the remark.
Try making a purchasing decision between Pokemon Black or White.
You almost end up buying both on a moral basis.

East Asia has a really weird thing with people of African or Caribbean descent. I had a person on a subway in Seoul try to convince me that I was black because I have curly hair. Mind you, I'm so damned pasty, I make Kate Moss look like Angela Bassett. They have so little direct experience with black people, it's almost like they have to latch on to whatever bits of information happen to be floating around the global cultural psyche (however horrifyingly sterotypical and cringe-inducing they might appear to Westerners).

My experience with East Asians (particularly folk from mainland China) is that racism isn't really a "thing" to them, in that there isn't that sense of taboo/uncomfortable feeling when talking about qualities of another race.
Again, just my experience.
