OK, I know nothing about True Blood so help me out here. Why would Malakim have lots of plane tickets to New Orleans? Does that fit in with his role claim?

Ok, but where does New Orleans come into play? And why multiple plane tickets? Like, does the True Blood crew travel a lot? Sounds crazy, just looking for some clarity.

Not really. New Orleans is there, but most of the action happens in Bon-Temps and Shreveport. Still, why do you know about plane tickets to New Orleans? No one has said anything about tickets to New Orleans.
