I thought I had seen a subject on this already but i would like to ask again since i cannot find it. I want to know what magic and traps are "Floating or Non Target effects" That would blow through like the LOD protection and what not.

I ran a Dragon Deck a long time ago, mostly dragon monster with Rivalry of the War Lords. It was quite good because my friends used to combine monsters type. The nemesys of my deck was Infecting Tribe Virus... man, that monster made me cry lots of time.
So I changed to a Dark Paladin Deck full of Dragons + 3 BEWD + Painfull choice. It was a defensive deck, waiting for Dark Paladin to show up. My friends wasted cards and made hasty move, til I sommoned Dark Paladin, often with 6000 - 7000 AKT. This wasn't really a dragon deck, but a deck full of dragon.
Now that Tribe Infecting Virus is banned, I hope my dragons still got the magic.
By the way, I'm not a fan of Element Dragon, but Ryu Spirit. Specially, discarding Tyrant Dragon (Tirano) and using Call of the Haunted on him. Ryu Spirit + Dragon Rage + Tirano + Call of the Haunted make a great combination.

Obviously Painful Choice is also banned too...
And can't forget about having to Tribute a Dragon to Special Summon Tyrant Dragon back from the Graveyard in the first place...you'd be better off removing it from play and then bringing it back that way or something...
Obviously Future Fusion is the hell of an advantage. But the key is to distract th opponent's attention to another strategy, in this case beatdown Dragons. So, when Dark Paladin appears there's no need to be afraid of Torrential Tribute, Magic Cylinder and stuff like that.
About Tyrant, I discard Tyrant when attacking with Ryu Spirit, having Call of the Haunted set. When damage/effect resolves I use CotH on Tyrant tributing Ryu Spirit on the field (if still there). It's a nice simple combo that cleans the opponent's field.
Haven't been playin much but i still enjoy dueling. my fav of all the dragons will always be Tyrant Dragon and BEWD would come 2nd though he has the least support from the heavy tribute dragons, i still like him. My deck has gone through several phases w/ the Tyrant, the last attempst involved me using the tyrant dragon along w/ the combined force of the lvl 6 Horus. But then i dismantled it to make a Horus deck n so the most recent build has been a hybrid between dragons n warriors.
surprisingly the deck has done pretty well due to the warriors speed, i've pretty much drawn the tyrant in all rounds mostly but summoning him isn't as easy hehe, but when u do he can be quite troublesome:p
think any of u dragon experts could take a look at this deck for me pls?
been wanting to upgrade it n improve it, or even try something new to see if i can find a better build for Tyrant Dragon, perhaps even an old trample styled deck such as dragon's rage n combining it w/ robbin goblin or something. well hope u can all help me out here, thx!
You DEFINITELY need more Traps...you really cannot cut it with just 5 Traps...
And if you want something good with Tyrant Dragon...then 1 Trap to include would be Ojama Trio to be able to kill 2 monsters with Tyrant Dragon's near-double attacking ability...combo in Final Attack Orders for big hurt.
hey dat is a good combo hehe, never thought of it, come to think of it that combo might work out as well for Ultimate Tyranno in the Dino Deck I've been working on.
but if i do add those 2 traps dat would give me a total of 7 n wouldn't dat be too much? all the same thx for the combo though
No..maybe in the OLD days of dueling...these days, Traps range from 8-10...or even 12 depending on the Deck...monsters from like..17-20...and Magic somewhere like...10-15+ depending on the Deck..
If anyone wants to take a look a very good Blue-Eyes White Dragon build, it's in my signaturee since this is a Dragon Tactics thread ^_^. I based most of the design off the Chimeratech OTK decks then work my way up with it giving the deck its own personality ^_~.
Personally, I like to keep my deck compliment with 21 monsters, 14 spells, and 8 Traps, which makes the deck count 43, but I do occasionally like to keep my deck count at 40. Deck balance depends on the persons play style anyways, lol, don't you agree Half ^_^.
