All in all, I thought this was a super creative set that smoothly integrated the WWE powers with superhero clix. It's really surprising that the main sets haven't done that yet.
In no particular order, my favorites were...
1. Speedball: Great, bouncy take on a classic character that smoothly blended the WWE powers in a way that made loads of sense.
2. Ghoul: I dunno who the Hell this guy is, but his dial design is fun and creepy while he offers a nice, streamlined way to game Stop Clicks (rarely my favorite mechanic) and KOs. Wonderful build-around potential.
3. Axum: An excellent, narratively-driven dial that maximizes his born-loser, constantly exploited angle while keeping him a tough competitor, especially with flighty Lydia nearby.
4. Scarlet Spider: Kaine has always been my favorite Spider-Man, and this felt like a solid, brutal loner rendition of him (debatably the only way he should ever be). The Mark of Kaine ability feels very right for him!
5. Ikaris: The Gillis/Simonson miniseries was my favorite Eternals story, and this is a great snapshot of the character from it. He's got great staying power; his full dial feels appropriately anti-Deviant and arcs with the narrative of the comic; and the SP is a fun nod to just how random that wrestling sequence was.
Honestly, it was wonderful seeing you play out this set and give so many unsung and undersung characters their melodies, as you often do. Hell of a swan song, as you've intimated.
I also wanted to thank you for the breadth of your presence on the 'realms, from crafty custom feeds, to working your tail off in evidence threads, to your many excellent points in discussion threads. I fully respect how frustrating the new rules have been for you and how they're yet another frustration heaped upon ::gestures wildly at everything::. All that said, I do hope after you take some time off that you return to the 'realms, maybe not endorsing anything current, but just doing whatever makes you happy. Your threads were MAJOR inspirations for me, and I genuinely wouldn't be enjoying making custom threads like I do if it weren't for the depth, creativity, and comprehensiveness of yours. They are ALWAYS a treat!
awesome thank you kindly for providing a top 5 for this set. i really, really appreciate it
you hit up some real beats for me with speedball and ghoul. those were two dials i really liked the finish product of. i felt like i was doing something neat with them and showcasing their characters with the mechanics available. they're both also side characters and the goofballs of their respective teams, so i'm glad they worked for you. all the more so since you aren't familiar with ghoul! that's my mantra right there, man. if i can make you like the dial, i can introduce the character to you. we don't need avengers and justice league filling up every set, we can do those c-z listers, too. so long as they're done justice this game will make room for them. and i'm glad that speedball's non-wrestler wrestling moves kind of brought this set's concept together
i'm glad axum made your list, too. i know you're one of the few people other than me that remembers the story, let alone that enjoyed it . he was a neat guy, and you captured his character to a tee in your description, which i, in turn, was trying to capture in his dial. a hardluck guy being used by everybody just trying to get his before it all falls apart. the early cancellation of the series was the best thing to happen to danny, it let him get that surprising walk off into the sunset
yay! you liked kaine. my read of the new warriors made me like kaine a lot more. i like his gruff, timberwolf personality, especially with that heart of gold he kept denying as he was taking care of aracely. now that the sets all over, you can see how i tried to put some consistencies in his design that i included with the into the spiderverse subtheme. the and the range value (albeit his isn't for webs). i liked integrating the wrestling mechanic into his dial, too. it was a last minute tweak that worked out surprisingly well
ikaris was an early include when i was trying to pump up the main theme more. that completely random sequence 36(!) years ago did me a lot of favors . and the delightfully expository dialogue of those days gave me all the tools i needed to flesh him out for the mechanics of the set. setting him up with some neat mechanics to differentiate him from the tmt dial helped to keep him fresh and add some more depth to this oddball set with some more established names and more corners of the marvel universe sprinkled in. i like sets that can appeal to lots of different fandoms while still staying on theme
thank you again for your top 5 and thanks even more for your very kind words. it means a lot. i tried my best with the game and i enjoyed giving what little i could to the community. maybe the game will get back to sanity, hopefully sooner than later. so i'll say see you later, pal, and thanks for the support
I like how he has his own empowering pog. He's a great addition to the set, what with being the brawling champion of the world.
The toughness/invul is great flavor to the dial and with Lydia bystander, he may have the opportunity to utilize it. I like the choice it gives to your opponent. Take out the squishy empoweror and risk a SC roll that could end up with Invuln, or just go straight at him and just deal with the toughness.
thanks, reno. fightbolts made for a fun minisubtheme that fit pretty well here, especially since i was gonna make armadillo anyway. i focused on his plot of being the ultimate exploited underdog and having the tools within the game to be able to mechanically manifest it with the mm/sc boon and the WoL green lantern flavor made the sp come together quite quickly and hopefully tell his story fairly well. his signature move will cost him (as everything in the story did), lacking wp, but with lydia around, he'll be able to capitalize on it more. he wants to punch up. he just dares you to underestimate him

like i said, armadillo had to be in here. going way back to his cap comics run, he was a wrestler before it was cool (there was a lot of cap vs wrestlers stories in the '80s...) and his memorable run in modok's 11 - easily where he was respected the most - played into his wrestling background again, even giving us that sweet signature move. so a return trip to the adw sr format quite quickly produced the dial for us. with a smidge of slam to further the set's themes and a stat/power tradeoff in the defenses and dmg track gives us the rest. wrapped up in that shell of his, he gains a way to skirt mystics, turtle penalties, jl52 deathstroke's stab, a bunch of things i didn't think of, but also notably pushing dmg . he doesn't have , but it's a sneaky way to give you a clear choice when he's got 1 action token what to do, and oh hey, even if you don't have a viable target to attack with it, it is full speed move, too. even if it has to be in a direct path, the makes it a worthy option to simply curl up and roll down the map
Ok. So I said I would give my top ten a while back and I'm finally getting back to this. The problem is that the Baron does such great work, it's so hard. It's also difficult because I swore to myself that I would not get into WWE clix, so I did not get much into the game. I know the rules are similar and my love of the WWE since a kid had a strong pull but until recently have been an ostrich with my head in the sand over the game. In anycase, I'm off to do my best to give a top ten in my next post in this thread. Thanks again to the Baron's tireless efforts to make the forums creative, fun, and friendly.
10.#ucwf028 Super Patriot This guy joins the ranks of top contenders for the low tier US Title or Television Title depending on your flavor this week for both obscurity and in-set awesomeness. Sure, a short range but really who's got a whole lot of range here. Our Social Security Defender here does have some though, and improved targeting to boot? Solid consistent damage his whole dial... old school American Grit there. I just find the bonus to attack in on in-set characters great for a sealed event. Punching people harder who are outside of Modern just tickles me with a 2x4 and flag...HOOOOOO! His draw back from his damage power is painful and might make him a target but the flavor seams right for a good old patriotic heel turn. Put him in a four point stance and hope that ole John "Jim Duggan" Walker doesn't miss.
9.#ucwfff001 Hyperion I love... love... love Squadron Supreme. I even more so LOVE LOVE LOVE the Marvel MAX version Supreme POWER. This dial reminded me of that series and gave me the nostalgia. It's cheating I know but I'm really going to say this whole fast forces... probably gets this spot. In any other themed set it would be far higher but it doesn't quite fit with the whole in ring theme. I feel like if these guys showed up the lights would go down, fire would blaze up from the ring posts and Hyperion would raise Kane on anyone in the ring.
8. #ucwf051 Wonder Man Lex Lugar be damned you one trick pony and your Adonis body have nothing on the Wonder Man. He's basically Perfect. A Mr. Perfect you might say for a dial design of this character.
7.#ucwf009b Right-Winger & #ucwf009a Left-Winger And we have perhaps the best tag team due to split because irreconcilable differences in how they should use their finishing move. It's easy to see how they compliment each other so well that at the very Hart of the Foundation... er Federation. To boring to be Rocker's not Brooding enough to be cool but the duo does seem like a Demolition crew that might ride a Midnight Express to in ring goal. These are real road warriors and great representations of the characters.
6.#ucwf023b Prime *Waves hand in front of his face* You can't see me. Didn't see that one coming from this set. I remember thinking I was so cool for watching the UltraForce Cartoon and having some of those comics as a kid. The non prime version of this guy is awesome but a little spendy in the world of clix today but this guy packs such meta punch. Really, a META punch as he gives those rare, super rare and chase pieces a big ole FU and an Attitude adjustment with his Trait... Definitely not a boy anymore. Just hope he doesn't start a bad rap/hip-hop career. Given those dud, it'll probably a bad 90's cover band.
5.#ucwf003c Speedball If there was ever a way to capture this character and everything he is and would do in the Wrestling Ring, this is perfect. Also terrifying in normal clix play but, what way to capture and turn Knockback into and offensive weapon. It's boarderline brilliant. I mean, I feel like Ray Mysterio is envious. I feel, like I can just imagine an old school pinball machine or over the top wrestling video game from the 90's with this guy in it. Or some generic version. He could be higher but there are so many good dials here. Also, I'm often not a big fan of reverse type dials. Still he's got some potent defense too. But, man that Knockback stuff. Mind blown. If the creative teams at Wizkids "borrow" this in the years to come... You know Rise from the the grave, grab and earn and make the under stand Penance.
4.#ucwf074 Unique Uncle Ben Jimmy Eat Your Heart Out Hart here. This guy serves as perhaps the best "manager" of all time. Free Sideline Support to characters who share a keyword with him. KO(ill) him quickly and give the future Intercontinental Champion of this set some purpose. Let him sit on the the sideline like a Paul Bearer at his own funeral and hold an urn so that all your knocked down heroes can be given strength from beyond the grave.
3.#ucwf064 Thor Maybe I'm bias but it seems like most Thors are just good. Even one's who find themselves in a wrestling themed set. Kudo's on that dual identity here... no good wrestling comparison as crazy Doctor Blake tries to heal you with his magic stick STICKO... until the Asgardian Battlemadness takes over him and he becomes the Hammer wielding, action total blasting, *BANG BANG*X of the Spiky Yggdrisll... all bi-products of the mad mind of Thor Odinson.
2.#ucwf100 Unique Spider-Man What a version of Peter Parker here. I mean there is so much to love. It's why he takes the Intercontinental Champion spot. Let's start with his points. You can play him with such versatility. I can see playing him at both 100 and 75 points. So many moves. Almost an Excellence of Web Swinging Execution here. He does just about everything. He's super mobile. All those Improved Mobility. At a 100 pints you get Hypersonic speed. Traited Super Senses seems standard, but getting a possible bonus to getting the first move in a game and you're everyone's friend so you'll probably be on theme. Heck yeah. Can you say Spidey Alpha strike? Top Dial Perplex. If you decide 75 points works better Outwit. 50 and get Probability control. Two Bolts, so you can deal with those pesky two on one tag team matches. Fancy Incapacitate work. A nifty Incapacitate special Power (in my best NWO swagger) SWEEEEET!!! Wait... what is that? You say he autonomous??? Well that makes a top rope Web Drop from the Excellence of Spider-cution. It definitely earns him a top spot.
... and finally the winner and UNIVERSAL CHAMPION!!!
1.#ucwf065 Hercules I hear this music when I see this dial.
I am a real Olympian fight for the rights of every man
Im a real Olympian
Fight for what's right fight for your life
When it comes crashing down and it hurts inside
You gotta take a stand
It dont hurt to hide
If you hurt my friends then you hurt my pride i gotta be a man i cant let it slide
I am a real Olympian fight for the rights of every man
Im a real Olympian
Fight for what's right fight for your life
I feel strong about right and wrong
I dont take trouble for very long
Ive got something deep inside of me courage is the thing that sets us free
If you hurt my friends then you hurt my pride I gotta be a man i cant let
It slide
If you hurt my friends then you hurt my pride I gotta be a man i cant let
It slide
Hercules is a real Ultimate Warrior here. He takes up your whole team and this power house is seemingly worth every point. I'm positive he feels like the best representation of a hero worthy of the championship, one suplex, one over the head press, and leg drop later, I can't imagine him not getting a 1... 2... 3... for top of this set.

thank you ever so much. it was very kind of you and you're always so supportive. thank you for your kind words, encouragement and insights. and i hope i've managed to entertain you along the way half as well as you've supported me
hahaha, i can hear this gif . thanks for that awesome reference, it put a smile on my face this tuesday morning . i'm glad this little meta attempt tickled your fancy. not only was the design an aesthetic attempt to get your attention, but i tried to go to the meta well here by having effects triggering off of set release schedules. it's out of the box (literally! ) but why not? let's have some fun with it. yeah, john will have a big target the more cocky he gets with his successes, but that was definitely super-patriot-era john, so again, why not?
i see what you did there with the kane allusion . definitely the ff is "off" in the conventional sense, but given the introduction of the term "multiverse game" in the wwe set, i ran with it here as many subthemes of multiversal characters, going so far as to link all the TUCs to said multiversal inclusions. and honestly, i've been wanting to do another squadron subtheme because i also, LOVE LOVE LOVE them, and while this game has shown them love in potency, they haven't in availability, so i wanted to rectify that and finally provide that so-obvious-how-come-they-haven't-made-it squadron ff pack i've been clamoring for ever since the series of primes came out. that, and thundra was going to be in here for her wrestling chops, and that's all the excuse i needed to bring her teammates in
ha thanks for that. i'm very pleased to see this one make it, as it was the last full dial i ever designed . i went whole-hog on the cinema theme here (as well in other places within the set) as the celebrity status of showmanship was very much a running current in this set centered on the squared circle (...gets the square ). i was initially hesitant for the whole challenge of the champion subtheme as they're all well-clixed (for the most part) but i'm glad i didn't hold back and did them all here. for simon i decided to focus on his many interpersonal relationships to give you a modular play style based on your force and a good peep at your opponent's force
i am so absolutely flabbergasted by the sheer amount of tag teams you were able to cram into that paragraph . so instead of talking about left winger and right winger, i'll just say well done, my friend, well done!
prime prime would definitely be on lead guitar . gotta wail out all that angst . another meta attempt with triggers, and squeezing ultra force into the mix plays into the multiverse subtheme, plays into my subthemes-i've-wanted-to-do-but-haven't-gotten-around-to-it-yet impetus on my way out, and even plays into the set's name of POWERBOMB, by cramming in those questionably licensed franchises that'll make intellectual property lawyers itchy
i really love the last speedball dial we got in fi. it was just really good. so i had a steep climb for my design. though i used it in the flavor text for screwball, speedball really is the epitomy of a button-mashing character. so let's give him tons of buttons to mash. the marriage to this set (thank you marvel boy for the venn diagram inclusion of the new warriors subtheme) worked out so well here for the mechanics that just fit him to a tee. i do hope that wwe mechanics get used more and for speedball in particular
another well-done run on managers there . uncle ben was a design i'd made between sets and just didn't have a home for him. but once the spiderman subtheme started to get bigger and bigger, well, he could have a place here. originally he was the ultra chase, but i made room for the ultraforce ultrachase and tweaked his dial a bit more into a remix of the chase theme's mechanics to give you that born-to-die and serve the plot dead more than alive vibe
thor made it here via the challenge of the champion subtheme and i'm glad i did flesh that out, because it provided a lot more big names to fill out the rares and super rares and make the set more commercially viable with name recognition. since the blake transformation was a key component of that story (or rather, the justification for him getting to keep the hammer in the ring) i let that guide the set's captain marvel-like transformation with 10th anniversary-style promotion mechanic. plus a long string of cce was my final shot to my thoughts on how most thor dials should be designed.
as for spiderman, thank you, thank you. we're rarely satisfied with the spiderman dials we get. a long string of stinkers, an occasional op piece. everyone's got their idea of what a definitive spiderman should look like and that makes custom dials even harder to sell. so here i am, with a last hurrah posting a spiderman dial. i kept it relatively simple in effects and tried to focus on his teamups, incorporating the spiderverse themed abilities in here, but his ability to join any marvel force, at highly versatile costs and boost initiative roll are all meant to come together to make him the ultimate team player. and autonomous to boot (backwards fist?) just in case it wasn't already clear. this is showing-up-in-everyone's-book spidey. he just wants to play
let me tell ya somethin', brother, i appreciate the ear-worm . i can definitely see ol' herc embody the hulkster . something defintiely very '80s about hercules, from that beard to the bravado to the unashamed love-rug exuding machismo. i just couldn't make a marvel wrestling set without him. and the lovely hulk vs herc oneshot provided the legit link to the ucwf that let me go hog-wild with it and make him the beastly 300pt oma he should be. with a mastery of the ucwf pac to show his creation of wrestling, i hope he's just plain fun to field and a challenge (but fair) to fight.
thanks again for all your reviews and going the extra mile with the interwoven wrestling references. that was really cool, my man. really cool. i'll be grinning all day
thank you ever so much. it was very kind of you and you're always so supportive. thank you for your kind words, encouragement and insights. and i hope i've managed to entertain you along the way half as well as you've supported me
Glad for the Ear bugs and I had a fun time putting in all those little references. There were a ton more that I was trying to put in but just couldn't fit them in. I know this was your last hurrah for dial designs and it's been a pleasure watching you do all this work.
I hope life finds you well and that things go well. Even if you do not make a single dial again, I hope to see you on the boards and keep in touch. Stay well and enjoy that ear bug because I've had it in my head for a whole night now.

you, too, my friend. God bless you for your friendship
Well I'm back. It's been a long hard week for me. But we wrapped filming and it's good to be able to focus on other things for a minute.
Now back to one of my favorite thing: baron's dials.

This is amazing. What a great call back. I mean this really, really takes me back. I think the idea of using the ads as inspiration to give some mixed universe guys a signature move. I mean, this is just great.
Great job incorporating a generic wrestler. But this is no plain jane. The A dial is a nice classic style brute. I love the Heel or Face trait. The exploit weakness makes these guys real threats.
The B dial is fun. It took me a second to figure out what was going on. It was not what I was expecting. But you blew away anything I would have thought up. This guy is a fantastic design. Great forethought and balancing on him.
You included a ref - that is such a good idea. Could be easily overlooked, but nope, you are as thorough as they go.
giving your opponent access to his speed powers is just such an smart way of keeping the illusion of being unbias. The way you based his powers as effecting friendly and opposing while also tying it to an AOE makes the sidesteps really count.
Moving away from the generics to the character wrestlers. The tag team assassins is a good place to start. I like the empower and the bonus for playing with this brother. It's good incentive to get them together, but not so heavy that they are overvalued without Rigo.
Speaking of YES! I love this era of captain america comics.
Trial by Honor is such a kick ass trait. Really captures the character well. The flying four flusher, I mean can you have a better name for a signature move
Now that is a signature move worthy of a god. It goes a long way to making the 300 pts version a legit option.
Then I saw the god of wrestling. If not multiverse game attack of 12... just gonna drop that bomb hidden away at the back of a deity trait. This Herc is no joke.
My favorite part: choosing two defense powers. Hot damn!
I know most people are going to be enthralled with that awesome signature move (and rightly so). But for my money, it's the can't be knocked back and can't be assigned an action token by opposing players that has me thrilled. It's not game breaking, but it is thematic and in this set, I feel will play better than one would expect.

i never can find a "mr hornblower, welcome back" gif for these kinds of things, but know that's what i'm tossing at you, pal

ha, yeah, i had flashbacks with this one, myself. it was such a ubiquitous part of the bronze age that i felt the callback needs to happen in clix in some form or another, licensing be darned! i mean, maybe just call it fruit pie snack cakes or something, but challenging the lawyers is part of what makes this POWERBOMB beyond just the wrestling stuff, right?
fortunately, the wrestling mechanics once again bailed me out on implementation and just using the signature move, submission hold, pin, kickout stuff felt like how it was used in the page-long ads. inexplicable rendering incapacitated any threat no matter how great with the great taste of fried pies. i mean, if the robot torgo loses the will to battle for thanks to chowing down than anyone can, right?

pin me, pay me! jobbers are such a core component to wrestling, i mean someone has to put the other guy over. i definitely wanted to include them in the set, and the b-dial for the generic lets it be a side quirk that you can include for fun but doesn't have to be a stand alone fig to earn his spot. i incorporated the mechanics from hqgg mercenary so as to make it an unwinnable prospect for the enemy. but he can steal a "match" with a schoolboy pin, capitalizing on underestimating him, or just pick his battles and get paid for taking the dive.
the a-dial was a very necessary inclusion, as well. more so, really. we need generic grapplers to fill for the trunks and boots types that might not get made. i really learned to appreciate generic generics from wf to serve as filler for unclixed. besides, this is the sculpt reuse anchor necessary for crusher hogan. modest stats but tricksy skills should serve them in their role and their was only 1 choice for what to use as their signature move. the heel/face shenanigans were also a necessary go-to in the design since i reference it ALL THE TIME and this is where the trope comes from. playing it off of perplex let me get the feel of it in either direction and set us up to be able to flip it for the turn

A dial's signature move is fantastic. You either tie him up or slingshot him back. The giant reach will be a nice surprise. Wonderful.
B dial has a great powerset. And of course flying leap is a must for the classic Luchador. The speed SP plays into this also.
thanks. a-dial is the mexican-style luchador, whereas b-dial takes its influence from japanese wrestling. both have a rich history in the ring and plenty of lingo to play with for this second generic. plus, c'mon, ¡luchadores! so much fun to be had with that. for the sculpt i snagged a rando spiderverse dude that venn diagrams subthemes and enables me to keep it marvel while flying off the top turnbuckle at you with another dial
both are meant to be kinetic and deliberately emphasized the ropes mechanics as triggers to let you benefit more from making the high-risk maneuver. a-dial is a little more flippy, b-dial a little more strikey, giving you enough of a difference to let the spirit of each show up

Amazing job.
thank you, kindly. that was exactly what i was trying to do. strong passive effects within a field, but they swing both ways. he's el cheapo thanks to lots of 0s and the ability to be repositioned by your opponent when his effects (and reason for being) are very dependent upon positioning and lines of fire (which is another way of saying positioning). this character will really make friends and foes aware of that very tactical necessity.
and 3 flavors (once you get a look at the enemy ) will optimize your build for that 15. do you penalize your opponent more for bringing shooters (not that kind) to a wrestling match you've stacked with grapplers? do you "play it clean" and get around pins, poisons, holds and turtles by grabbing the ropes to break the holds? do you go full-bore anti-meta and (once again in this set ) penalize equipment? you get to pick what the ref's not blind to

cool. obvious synergy aside, i'd hoped to provide 60 pts on the dial on its own. and i think synergies can work best when it's dials that naturally work well together. so the empower and perplex stacking on each other should give them enough perks with one another even without the signature move adds and the tag teaming placement shenanigans. plus, they're packing heat, and these are no tiger lilies so that range value shouldn't catch anyone offguard. but when no paling around with deadpool (or hunting him) they want to be upclose and personal anyway, so they can show off their sick moves
cool story, bro!

you noticed! awesome
i wanted to emphasize their brotherhood with super similar dials but let that color motiff be the distinction (well, other than their signature moves). honestly, it's how i keep 'em apart. gus=g=green. rigo=r=red. i am very grateful for that
these knuckleheads have had a small footrpint so far, but it's taken them from hunting down moon knight to the mercs for money and then teaming with ol' wade wilson. i hope to get to see more of them. they're just fun, bro

Zangief was my favorite SF2 character, so I happen to be in love with the spinning piledriver move. YES!
awesome, the spinning piledriver is a simple slam, but with the added bonus of being a reversal-like (since that's how he laid it on spidey), so down the dial when he has honest reversal printed in his slot, your opponent will rue the day they miss him with an attack or fail a breakaway 'cause he's gonna hit you hard with that bonus token on the sig AND get the free reversal attack, too. el muerto isn't messing around
mainly because he's fighting to retain the mask and legacy of his family as well as the mystical powers therein and y'know, his life, too. so there's that . he's another obscure character that i gobbled up quickly for this set, being spot-on for the theme and proving how well wrestling was integrated throughout the marvel universe. but, of course it was! it was integral to spidey's origin

Trial by Honor is such a kick ass trait. Really captures the character well. The flying four flusher, I mean can you have a better name for a signature move
probably not
i'm glad he tickles your fancy, or at least your nostalgia. speaking of wrestling being all over marvel . mr x here also has a similarity to el muerto in the trial-by-combat amethyst-style duel going on here. they'd make an interesting fight against one another, or *gasp* a dreaded tag team that could double-team someone fierce with their similar but different mechanisms.
i hope the verbiage on his signature move is clear, i had to get a bit weird with it to convey what was going on in the comic. with him jumping from ropes to rope to build up to the strike, i want you not simply sliding down the line for a hit but having to fly around the ring a bit and his reverse flow speed stat and nimble for a nudge is meant to help you along with that. and that end-dial ew certainly ain't hurting things. well, other than your opponent

Then I saw the god of wrestling. If not multiverse game attack of 12... just gonna drop that bomb hidden away at the back of a deity trait. This Herc is no joke.
My favorite part: choosing two defense powers. Hot damn!
heh, it seems grander than it is. basically a meatload (two out of three ain't bad) between cr, ss and invuln. still quite nice, but limited, thankfully. that way he can ply his crafty combat prowess against opponents and not just brute force. sometimes brute force isn't the best option, after all. between that and his PAC PaP sig and that sneaky 12 you mentioned, this is meant to be more of a robust hero-of-his-story herc of myth that's the best he is at what he does and what he does is zounds!
we have a shared respect for hercules and your awesome brutes set put the pressure on to make sure i did my utmost to make a wrestling herc in a wrestling set feel like the mood-changing-needle-from-the-record threat he should be. blood knight to the max! he is the trope codifier, after all
this herc is meant to mast the PAC and with the potent effect of scuttling others' own signature moves will make him an absolute monster in sealed. as well he should be just look at that bonus art

awesome, i borrowed that shared from the wwe set. undertaker, kaine, big show and andre all have it and it felt fair for him here. the ability to shrug off tokens and kb does seem small, but it positively laughs at slam, and the oh-so-important slingshot.
the signature move is a riff on the svc iron fist chi mechanics remixed with this set's stuff. i wanted him to feel linked to danny so there's an organic feel to him fitting in with STILL NONEXISTENT immortal weapons in clix. seriously. at least we have davos, so maybe, right? right?!?
fraction's iron fist run was tailor made for this set. just supersaturated with flavor text for special moves and the like. it'd be crazy easy to make them in the game. so i say, let's get 'em. honestly, we should be on our 3rd or 4th set of immortal weapons by now
A Jack Murdock dial, I mean that's something I never expected to see. And boy am I glad you did. That prob power just sings out so much about this character. Great job of nailing his story so efficiently.
Nice use of the peanut base. I like the 3x flurry, but that reversal that targets all adjacent, that is just badass.
thanks. having to eschew , i came at it two ways instead with the SPs. the flurry+ and the pseudo-cce+ to rep the three of them in each. the added reversal bonus felt like a cool way to also show all 3. if their reversal strike didn't have to pick one of those dudes that swung at them (or failed breakaway) but could target all applicable instead, that would go to show lin, abe and bob all throwing elbows and heels. i again went with modest dmg here but high attack and other ways of getting around reducers.
i had to alter the language on both aspects of the . i originally had leadership for lin, but i decided ew fit the motiff better, but i didn't want it in competition with the cce. so i decoupled the cce into just raw bonuses for all close attacks but then had to modify the reversal with a set dmg so it wasn't out of control. i pulled the thread on the sweater, my friend, but i think it was worth the work to stich things back up

bantam was the ultimate punchup. another obscure cap character, it's like they weaponized little-man syndrome so i tried to do the same. he wants to battle outside his weightclass and pick fights with guys that oughta squish him, so that cr and some luck and some underestimation for a guy dressed like a rooster are the tools he's gonna use to score some decisive blows before they know what hit them. and if you manage to take out their tentpole with bantam, oh be sure to never let them live it down

he's uncle ben with less press, frankly. and more direct clixability. a hardluck boxer that refused to dive in the 11th hour. it's a great story that could be told in clix. shrugging off all the support powers makes it a pure fight and the anti-prob lets him simulate his unwillingness "to play along" with the opposition in the most "no" way i could imagine. it's a fairly simple little dial otherwise, but i hope that has enough character packed into it to give it a chance to see the map. plus, all else fails he'll have a spot on the law enforcement squad as the wildcat expy
No one ever lives down a beating at the hands of the battling Bantam!
one time i was playing galactus against 1800pts of "secret wars 1" heroes and i was smashing them to bits. i was taking hits, mind you, but the battle was in my world-devouring hands. got down to wolverine and lockheed and you know where this is going. galactus finally fell to lockheed rolling a crit
