No, he wasn't the first. He was one of the newest when his brother lifted the Montesi formula, but all the others had returned, including the very first vampire ever created by the Darkhold.
And it wasn't Dracula, either (tho he returned as well).
Married to Betty and neighbor to Fred and he steals Fred's Fruity and Coco Pebbles. Oh, wait, that's "Barnae". My bad.
Varnae it is. Turned into a vampire before Atlantis sunk.
Varnae got his name in Marvel based on another Vampire named Sir Francis Varney from a story written in the 1840's. He was quite different from most vampires. He was also the first vampire who could stroll about in daylight and really didn't like his condition. He dies in a most unusal way.
Name two super-heroes who were members of every super-hero team known to have existed on "Earth-616" during the 1940s.
Bucky Barnes comes to mind, but then there's that retcon that pulled him out of the war before All Winners. I want to say "Toro" as well, but Toro wasn't part of the team known as the "Sentinels of Liberty" that appeared in 1 or 2 fourties issues of Captain America before they changed the groups name to "Young Allies" and added Toro after the name change.
This could take me awhile.

I'm not counting the "Sentinels of Liberty" as a "super-hero team"; despite the presence of Bucky, it's just a Newsboy Legion clone.
Yep, those are the two I was looking for! I didn't count the Crusaders because, although they considered themselves heroes, they were Nazi dupes. (And, I forgot about them.)

All yours, DZ!
I thought you included Young Allies.
You did say "every super-hero team" of the 40's.

Sentinels of Liberty/Young Allies weren't included. The groups I considered "super-hero teams" were the Invaders, Liberty Legion, and All-Winners Squad.

Yeah, but prior to saying that, you only said you weren't counting the Sentinels.

Only if they were retconned.
Sentinels Of Liberty changed their name after Toro joined the group and they got their own comic.
I don't write the books, I just read them.
