So what happened at the frog tourney? Not my fault I had to work!
I ended up going 2-2. won with Thor+Loki and Zoom-Bomb. Lost horribly with Skin-Doom, Spiderman, Klarion and Darkseid-Immortus Warbound.
I was disappointed with the Darkseid-Immortus Warbound because it has synergy out the arse and I had the most 'warm and fuzzies' with it. A combination of a knockout team (Thor+Kid Flash), awesome player piloting it, and me playing Darkseid too conservatively led to a fast defeat.
I hindsight, I should have used the SR Valkyrie and worked Warbound around her, Loki, generic Valkyrie, and Throg.
All in all, it was pretty fun. LOTS of surprising teams, and almost no showing of any Superman
So ended with 1 & 3 record but had one of the hardest runs of the day
round 1 i had to play roland who beat be with about 200 pts to my 25
round 2 due to my killing lightspeed i had the highest losing score and had to play dustin i was able to squeak by barley with a win 105 pts to 40 pts
round 3 led me to play eric which i lost 58 to 0 but played possibly the best game i have ever played and held eric to only 1 ko and that was kid flash with maneuver
round 4 i played bret who beat me 100 ish to 35 ish cant be to upset with the dice going luke warm in the last round
all in all there was a great time had by all and some very intersting teams and was not dissapointed by any of my teams
Vegas Style- F.O.C.U.S THE Rookie/The Gauntlet Runner of TEAM VEGAS
Lance Storm of the Vegas Dungeon
STEP YA GAME UP
Surprised no one has posted this yet, but The Captain of Team Vegas emerged victorious and a shiny new Throg in hand. Top 4 was myself, Eric, Tim, and Justin from Battlezone.
Updated my Blog with all the round results, descriptions, teams, etc. Check it out here
A draining day to say the least. You should have seen us at the bar afterwards. Couldn't even flirt with the bartender. Just get my my drink and food and don't talk to me.
On a side note, cannot wait for HBK to post the pics from the tourney and PT's. LMK when you do.
Speaking of Tyler, all of my respect for organizing and running this event. I couldn't be prouder of the HBK of Team Vegas right now.
HBK does have all of the build sheets. At some point he'll post all the teams. Alot of interesting builds. Alot of teams build by myself, Tyler, and Eric used by several players.
I don't know what's more surprising. That only 2 Supermen were played, or that Lightspeed was the most played figure. Yeah Lightspeed.
Justin from Battlezone ran Prime. Who got b*tched slapped by my Marvel in the 3rd round. Bluesummers ran KC. He actually made a kid quit after playing that on him. Dustin ran it round 3 against this kid from Battlezone and got Thwipted! The kid went all drama queen and dropped and just walked out.
They'll be more discussion, but right now have to prep for the Oasis tourney. Something about this being crack...I don't know.
First, congrats to Mr. Musolino on the win. Those are some nasty teams.
I really wish I would've been able to get up there. I'm confident that I would've been quite comfortable with a match in 3 of the 4 set-ups. At the very least 2 of them.
But that Ms. Marvel piece of trash you created. Disgusting. Utterly disgusting. You've probably got some veneral disease from going there.
And I want to apologize to Beck for not being able to make it and bringing my Hal Jordan. I know he wanted that piece and I'm truly sorry for not helping out.
Surprised no one has posted this yet, but The Captain of Team Vegas emerged victorious and a shiny new Throg in hand.
Just wanted to give you a chance to brag. You did not disappoint. :P
Thanks for talking up my Superman team a little bit there. It was ultimately my most effective, as it also took out Superman Prime in a pick-up game later.
What's cool is that, by taking a look at the most-used pieces, you can use a cross-section of our builds to really see what the best pieces in the current clix environment are right now.
Oh, but The THing? Yeah, that piece is cursed. In his last two matches he's rolled 3 threes when he needed a 4 to hit. A four!
Benjamin J. Grimm is free of this curse, however, and still a bargain at 100 points. Also, his Toughness trait saved his team's asses a couple of times.
Good matches all around! Some great competitive gaming! And now, I return to my largely clixless lifestyle. Thanks Godiva.
Pick-up games Fridays, anyone?

Heroclix Protip #37: How to know when you're going to be 'running uphill on rollerskates'.
During my game 3, Tim's The Question is deemed worthy of Mjolnir. Now I have to deal with Kid Flash, Thor, AND a 37 point, 12 attack, 4 damage suddenly-3rd-string-attacker.
I'll 'Ask The Question'. WTF!
It's worse when Darkseid is killed by said hammer-wielder.
My game 1 was just as bad, I got the Todd Rice LE for first kill of the tournament (Thanks, spider-Man). and I think the only damage I did was Mystics damage.
REALLY makes me regret not playing Bizarro #1 as originally intended.
Also, who was the guy who got dramatic from KC Supes? I didn't hear a hissy-fit happen.
And round 4 VS. Nick needed a theme song. Yakety Sax would work.
Between the turn 2 Hail-Mary critical hit on my Zoom, me placing Nick's Gamora on her Blades+Flurry click, Chief not healing Zoom very quickly, and Nick's dice going cold. It was one big Charlie-Foxtrot that I should not have won. I was clearly outclassed and outmaneuvered; and it went down to dice-rolls.
Nonetheless, it was an exciting fight; just feels like a 'dirty victory'.
I think I took home the most 'door-prizes'. Having the first Clix killed netted a Todd Rice LEs, and winning the 'no chance of Top 4ing' match obtained a Eliot Franklin
I thought this Gangs In The Streets event was tomorrow night, but now I see on Page 1 that I missed it by a week. I just spent the night going over 90 point (and less) figs for this match.
Damn, I hate getting old.

Not gonna put any other restrictions on builds (other than the normal Highlander, 10% feat cap and 2 mods max. per team) just so any New Guys can play. I was thinking "Street Level" figs (Bat Enemy, Sinister Syndacate, etc.) But we'll leave it open.
Prize: should be LE#02 Skull Brother (but, We'll see....)
I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.
