Before the event players must “declare their allegiance” to one of six gangs
- GCPD
- Batman
- Joker
- Two-Face
- Killer Croc
- Black Mask
This Allegiance cannot be changed during the tournament - once selected it stays as your choice.
We are doing something slightly different to the straight out official format. The eventual winner of the event will not be the winner of the final event but the cumulative winner for all the events.
Each event will have points allocated as such :-
1pt for attending the event
1pt per loss
2pts per win
1pt for third
2pts for second
3pts for first
3pts for fellowship
2pts for 'honorary mention'
As well there will be 12pts allocated per each faction at the beginning of the tournament. These points will be divided between the players who chose each faction, for instance if six people choose Batman and only one chooses Killer Croc then the six players will receive 2 points each and the one player will get 12 points. Don't worry any late-comers, the allegiance points will be allocated at the end of the tournament - so if you come in the third round, say, whatever you declare as your allegiance you will get an equal portion of the twelve points at the end.
As well, to encourage the spirit of 'No-Man's-Land' and the rival gangs, points will be awarded based upon what teams you field (in the constructed events of course not the sealed/draft ones). You will get :-
- 1 pt if you field the same 'gang' as you did in the previous round
- 2 pts if you field a gang which was different from any you have played before.
The teams that can be constructed from the gangs are :-
Batman
- Gotham (but good guys, no baddies or fence-sitters)
- Batman ally keyword
- Batman Family keyword
- Batman ally team symbol
Killer Croc
- Brute keyword
- swimmers
- 'non-human' monsters
- animal keyword
- Gotham badguys (but not Two-Face, Black Mask or Joker)
Two-Face
- duos
- Gotham badguys (but not Croc, Black Mask or Joker)
- any figure worth 22 pts
- Celebrity keyword
- Politician keyword
- any character with two (and only two) clicks of probability control anywhere on their dial.
Black Mask
- people who have been on both sides of the law (Catwoman is the perfect Gotham example)
- Gotham badguys (but not Croc, Two-Face or Joker)
- Underworld and evil minion figures
- characters in suits
Joker
- Arkham Asylum keyword
- 'human' monsters
- Gotham badguys (but not Croc, Two-Face or Black Mask)
- anyone named after a card
- generic minions and henchmen
- a character with Force-Blast on any click and Poison on its third click
- a character with Leap-Climb on any click and Mastermind on it's second click
- a modern-age character with less points than the joker (on your team) which has no special powers and no traits and no improved movement
and no special abilities - because no one is more special than the Joker.
People making these 'gang style' teams should try to include the titular character on their team (in the case of GCPD it would be the commish).
Sorry about the latenesss of this post - it has been up on the Goodgames website and the Facebook one for weeks, but I forgot to write it here.
Thursday 10th of January
The traditional post-release floor!
Make a 600pt team, half the points of which must come from the new Batman set.
Prize Support will include the second LE, and if we get sufficient people, a Vehicle booster:D
The thursday No Mans Land event will take place the week after.
On another note, as some of you may be aware, Good Games is opening a new store in the CBD, right near town hall (Directly on top of games workshop, lol). Now I understand that burwood is a more convenient location for some, and the city is better for others, so I've had the idea that we have the best of both worlds and take the opportunity to alternate fortnightly. This would have the bonus that if the CBD store gets a prize support kit, it will solve the thursday group's issues with OP prize support running out halfway through a set, and would mean that people for whom travel to one or the other would still get to participate once a fortnight. What do people think?
Twoface - Celebrity, politician, character with a good and bad team keyword, AEs and maybe characters with first click prob
Black Mask - characters in suits. both sides of the law on a regular basis i'e . peter Parker with his hair patted down on one-side doesn't count.
Batman - Bat family
Thanks everyone for suggesting more criteria for the 'allegiances teams'. I did canvas before-hand but did miss some people and also some criteria.
If anyone can come up with some more random joker things I would appreciate it - but not yet wait until after the second round to post them. The random ones already up will go to be replaced by the next lot. They must be based around powers that appear somewhere on any joker dial (which I must say are most of powers on the PAC)
Can I request these rules aren't used for the Thursday games, as they complicate stuff a lot.
I'd prefer just the normal rules for the other games to allow people the options.
Cheers,

Nine people turned up (some others were sick or otherwise incapacitated) to play a sealed draft of Batman. It was held on the prison map (of coursed) but using the earthquake event one scenario.
The winner of the Day was Matt (picking Two-Face) who pulled both chases that turned up - the Insider and the GL bats, though most of the damage was done by his Joker thug (apparently who must have been really the actual Joker who'd gained a few pounds).
Coming in second was Terry (G.C.P.D.) with a team of Batman and Blackbat. Horrible rolls let him down in the first round but he cleaned out everything in the next two.
Glen (Joker) came in third with the Joker leading the way, a henchman and a thug and Catwoman along for the ride. He lost to Big shapechange Daddy in the second round but comfortably won the rest.
Next in fourth was Big shapechange Daddy (Killer Croc) with a Bat-Family team based around Robin, Nightrunner Batwing and El Gaucho. He had solid wins in his first two games but came up against Matt and bad rolls in the last game.
Fifth was Pat (Batman) with a catch-all team of Rocket Red, Warblade, Beast Boy and an A.A. Guard. Matt took him down in the first game but he beat Ben in his last. He received the fellowship prize for not only his general sense of fair-play but also stepping aside for the new player and allowing him to play.
Sixth was Adam (Black Mask) with Batman (at 100pts), batgirl, a henchman and Nightwing. He won his first game quite handsomely against Terry but couldn't hold up that form for the rest.
Seventh was Peter (Joker) a new bloke who had Big Barda, Katana and Roy Raymond jr. He won the second game when he could hit with Barda, he lost the others when she went whiffle.
Eighth was Ben (G.C.P.D.) who had a mixed team of Halo Katana, Thunder and a Joker Thug. He had to have the Bye in the first round but couldn't crack the teams against him in the next two.
And lucky ... ninth was Thomas (Two-Face)who had a solid team of August General in Iron, Halo and Zealot. During the games he played he only killed one Joker Thug and thus took the bye in the last. His happy acceptance of his fate earned him the Honourable mention.
Thursday the 24th -
Marvel vs DC
Build 400 point teams of both.
Winner of the dice roll gets to pick either map or what team they use.
If one player plays Marvel the other has to play their DC team.
Lets see who breeds the strongest supers of all!!!
- 600pt Modern age team of which half the build cost must come from the last two marvel and/or DC sets.
Marvel - Chaos War or 10th Aniversary
DC - Batman or 10th Aniversary
- Also your force can include (at no extra cost) a fully stocked utility belt asigned to one character on your force.
ie - Utility belt with the costume slot activated and six slots active using any of the items and costumes listed in the units section :-
- Radar Monitor
- Gas Pellets/Smoke Grenade
- Batarangs
- Flash Grenade
- Suit of Sorrows
- Sonic Transmitter
After a new set comes out we usually have one of these battles to get to grips with some of the new figures we've just bought. Because of the break over christmas and such we didn't do this for the 10th sets and Batman has only just some out and both games since have been sealed ones.
Also as we did for the Gauntlet, we want a game where everyone has a Utility belt so that we can see what it is like to play with one and play against one.
