Waldo have you had a chance to test out ectoplasmer yet? Let me know what your conclusion on that card is.
I recently used it this past weekend and was very upset with it. I found the biggest draw back to it was the fack that your opponent could also use it. I'm thinkin of running mass driver with the Dolls instead.
I've never heard of that card before, I'll try to get some info on it later. As far as the new set goes I've been looking through edo's site and the only thing that I saw (We all no it differs) that may come out is
RDS-JP045
REBIRTH OF THE DEAD
Normal Magic
Discard 1 card from your hand. Put 1 Monster card in your
Cemetery into your hand.
SUPER RARE / ULTIMATE RARE
Not a bad card when combined with Night Assailant to get your Dark Ruler Back!
If you need help with the site let me know, atleast with coding :)
Here's one more way where having a few Fiends in the Graveyard is a good thing. Easy enough to do, too.
Ever get annoyed with those repeated Berserk Gorillas, Gemini Elves, and other such cards? Well that's why you run removal like Newdoria. What if you were to Use Call of the Haunted for newdoria/Mystic Tomato (if you feel like searching), or any other tech card? Normally you would save that trap for massive hits. But here you could clear the field, attack with Aswan, and continue to re-use CoTH. If they dont summon a monster, then you still get Newdoria, and attack with it and Aswan for more damage. And now you can go in for a 2nd trap with Aswan's effect.
Your biggest dilemma will be to make sure your opponent doesnt start swarming you otherwise you are Fooeyed. Big problems with gravekeepers, Zombies, and of course, Warriors. Now, what was that card coming out? Ojama King? Or maybe you prefer, Ground Collapse, Narrow Pass, Spatial Collapse, or my favorite for this idea: Kaiser Collaseum. (did I spell that right?)
Time Seal/Drop off is infinitely more interesting for the lock, to be sure. But since Aswan is also a level 3, you could easily create a Gravity Bind Staller that keeps going back and retrieving the same chainable Pyroclock of Destiny. "But, why do that, squid?? PCoD only works on things like SorL and LightForce Sword, and...
OH! I get it." .... Do you?
Here's another card that works with Aswan -> Secret Pass to the Treasure. Along with Gravity Bind and the others it seems to be begging for those Goblin Kings to come out and play.
(Im making up stuff as I go, people. I got into a bag of chocolate covered expresso beans this morning PJQW4O8TJHI!!!!)
But I have to ask, why would this be better than Mask of Darkness? As an opponent I could probably afford to let you attack with Aswan, clog up your next Draw, and know what your strategy is. I know, I know, its because MoD is a fip and can only be used once. I still prefer using MoD over Aswan and getting to the other cards in my deck, but I am always up for trying new things :classic:
TMadness- Rebirth of the Dead sounds like one more good way for putting Marie the Fallen into the Grave. And at the same time retrieving a useful Grave monster (like Ha Des)
now, if you will all excuse me, I have to go find a large glass of milk and a de fibulator. My heart is skipping b-beats from the coffee beans. :(
I have a combo that is similar, but requires two different cards. Mask of Darkness + Tsukuyomi + Drop Off (Maybe Time Seal). Here's how it would go:
Turn 1: Set 1 M/T F/D, Monster in defense mode.
Opponent: Activate Drop Off when he draws.
Turn 2: Flip Mask of Darkness, bring back Drop Off, summon Tsukuyomi & target Mask of Darkness. Then, set Drop Off F/D. Rinse and Repeat.
It is a fiend tactic. Why? MASK OF DARKNESS!!! BEHOLD THE NEW YATA-LOCK!!!!! ...sorry, got a little overexcited ^_^
Does anyone actually run ShadowKnight Archfiend? Stat-wise, it seems to be simply a lesser Terrorking with a crappy effect. Archfiend soldier has only 100 less attk. but has no cost attached. Personally I think the slot is better saved for some diversity, what do you guys think?
I run a pair currently, only because I don' t have the others mentioned and like the power within the 4 star beatstick. If I had the Terrorking, I'd use it. One advantage over the Soldier is that it has the all-important roll negator that can come in handy during a duel.
It gets a 3, which doesn't amount to much, plus if Darkbishop is on the field, Archfiend Soldier gets the same dice rolls, 1,3, and 6. I'm thinking it would be wiser to simply drop the Shadowknights for a little more diversity (I'm thinking 2x Manju of the 10,000 hands to get some reliable Zorc action) and keep the Soldiers as the 4 star beatsticks along with Terrorking. Sound wise to you guys?
i was wondering, would robbin goblin be a good post ban choice??? i havent tested it yet, but i was hoping someone here has :)
EDIT: this is what i can do, either:
Scapegoat x2
OR
Scapegoat and Robbin Goblin
What do you guys think???
I'd personally go with 2 Scapegoats. Robbin Gobin is a horrible topdeck, you'll want the goats more.
However, Robbin Goblin could work with our old friend Mefist - since he's got the Trample + discard effect, they'd lose two cards. Good bye hand really fast!
Cypherman- yes, it would be wiser to diversify. Shadowknight is beastly for opening the field for your other monsters to do direct damage. One on One his effect ensures that it isnt really effective against other monsters in battle. The cost of ShadowKnight is higher, too. In so many ways, I am opposed to Shadowknight. I will say that I have run him before, and may do so again. But that may be for a Wind/Archfiend odd deck thing than its being a fluid support the the general Archfiend decks.
Envoy- i have not personally seen the amount of benefit in robbins Goblin to justify decking it. There are plenty of occasions where it has helped to discard an opponent's key cards, but many times (maybe the way I play) simply sets up for a massive damage attack in one hit.
On the other hand, the only time I have seen it really justified to deck 2 Scapegoats is those decks that use cannon fodder, like Amazon Archer or Cannon Soldier, or in a deck that takes advantage of the issue with things like GKing/DNA or United We Stand combos. If I were to choose between the 2 cards, I would deck 1 Scapegoat and 1 Robbin Goblin
WOOOO....35 pages, 505 posts and 12,000+ views!!! It's officially become a bible!
Well, back to topic, I've succesfully used Malice Doll and Ectoplasmer.
Without Malice Doll, Ectoplasmer is decent monster removal at best, thought I've found a NEW profound respect for Soul Exchange, Snatch Steal, Change of Heart, Creature Swap and Falling Down.
Shadow Knight, as Squid mentioned, is a great opener if you also get a Pandemonium. Also, although his Die Roll has a 1 in 6 chance of succeeding, it's still there. He's also good to throw at face-dowm monsters you might think are D.D. Warrior Ladies. He takes down 1900 attackers. He takes down nearly any monster with Rush Recklessly and he tributes for 1000 with Ectoplasmer. I run 1 in my Archfiend and he works OK for me.
I've also been thinking about placing Robbin Goblin in my deck, but opted for Coffin Seller (because of Ectoplasmer). Nowadays, with Delinquent Duo and Yata gone and Don Zaloog left unsearchable by anything but Reinforment of the Army, relieving your opponent off some cards might come in handy.
Today. I went head to head with NeoHunter's Warriors and won the first match 2-1, lost the second match 1-2, and won the third match 2-0. My Archfiends are still hungry but, alas, they'll have to wait until tomorrow.
I've still to see another SERIOUSLY mean strategy with Aswan Apparition, other than Time Seal and Drop Off.
NinjaDuelist - I'm afraid Pyrofire14 already put that one out there.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a "project" of "biblical" proportions to take care of. LOL!!! Oh, just crack myself up!

I made a cheap Fiend deck to mess around with that turned out to be fun to run and highly anoying to friends. I have changed it so that it meets the banned requirements but it still does the same. Its main power in the Deck are the Summoned Skulls but Dark Necrofear is the ultimate goal. Here it is........
18 monsters
3x Summoned Skulls
3x Night Assailiant
2x Kuriboh
2x Dark Necrofear
2x Man-Eater Bugs
3x Newdoria
3x Archfiend Soldier
10 magic
3x Fissure
3x Smashing Ground
1x Premature Burial
1x Painful Choice
1x Swords of Revealing Light
1x Pot of Greed
sakuratsu armor is annoying enough with out the three assailents and man eater bugs. I know someone who runs three in his deck. I dont attack unless im sure that the card is not sakuratsu.
well thats exactly what the man eaters and other flip kill monsters are for. if you manage to find a way around the traps you still have to deal with the monsters. and by not attacking that just gives the fiend runner more time to come up with Summoned Skull. i have learned through much experience that SS is a VERY nasty monster.
I much prefure the Beast of Talwar over summoned skull, better defense, cooler picture, and it is my favorite card.
Are there any light fiend monsters. I am running an rfp deck and i have freed and chaos sorcerer in my deck and i dont really want to stray to far from fiends. So if i can find some decent light fiend monsters it would help.
