Tommy Bolin is a former member of the James Gang (post Joe Walsh) and Deep Purple from Sioux City who also did a lot of session work before he let the drug scene destroy his life. He was a gifted songwriter also. This is my favorite song by him off of the album Private Eyes. He passed away in 1975. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7FOTBdbPN8
I read that when Tommy Bolin's first album came out, he was already committed to touring with Deep Purple, so wasn't able to promote his album properly. Perhaps that is one reason that his solo music isn't more well known. Personally, I also think his song structure may have something to do with that. He seems to leave the best towards the end of most songs, finishing strong, so people who just scan the songs miss the best parts. That's just opinion.
I enjoyed his album "Teaser" so much that I bought "Private Eyes" sound unheard. I always enjoyed his first album a bit more. It sounded more progressive, while Private Eyes seemed more straight heavy rock. Not dramatically different, but some. Probably the main reason is that I had listened to "Teaser" repeatedly before Private Eyes and had established my favorites firmly.
Yes, there is a brand new Beatles song, released yesterday, November 2, 2023. It is by all four of them. Originally a demo with a John Lennon vocal, in 1995 the three remaining members attempted to construct the song. The tech wasn't up to the task. The tech improved and here is the song.
I'm guessing I gleaned this song off the Public radio program I listen to on Friday mornings of of public radio in St. Louis. I'd forgotten I had it until I was forced to relisten to my iTunes library when I had to get a new laptop.
The lead singer's vocals and the opening lyrics remind me of Zappa. The band's influences are apparently Hawkwind, Sabbath, Deep purple and Sir Lord Baltimore.
This is a longer version than the one I have on iTunes and version isn't as explicit in the lyrics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCAIBmf_9kY
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.

Monster Magnet doesn't seem to be afraid of much. Especially when it comes to going from lower intensity power to suddenly blasting it into your brain.
SPACE LORD (Monster Magnet)- Maybe I'm getting old, but this is the version that I would prefer to share with my grandkids. Not drastically different but a little. Usually I'm against censorship but this is censorship lite to me.
A Japanese rock group I never heard of before today, somewhere between Metal and Pop is Noisemaker. The needle may lean a bit towards pop, but I enjoyed the mild blend of genres across a couple of their songs. Vaguely similar to ONE OK ROCK. Anyway, new to me.
Light, almost jazzy, guitar driven rock, another group I am just learning about is Polkadot Stingray. I have no idea where many of the Japanese groups get their names, but evidently this band is pretty popular.
Just so much fun! I wasn’t convinced immediately, but by the second song it was clear that she may be the queen of covers. Yoyomi has such attention to detail in her videos, spot on for each song. First one is sexy, second is Michael Jackson, third is painfully cute. Never heard of her, but she brightened up my day.

I had no idea The Hu could make songs like this. It appears to be fairly new, otherwise it should have been in the Rock Wars World Tour. Outstanding offering and thanks for sharing. The song "Mother Nature" speaks for itself so I can't add anything to that.
I sometimes trade music suggestions with a twenty something local artist. Her tastes are generally just slightly more obscure/weird than mine, her tastes being similar to things Slicktrickyrick has shared. So some feel great, some more than my brain can absorb. She traded me the following song and a small bit of her original art (actually that was a gift).
SPELL MAGIC (Acid Black Cherry) - Although I like this song, I couldn't find others by them that I like very much. Yes, its Japanese.
It exchange, I gave her an excellent Band-Maid song.
WARNING- Following the link below may lead to excessive Band-Maid suggestions in your YouTube feed.
Back in the 70s I had been reading about Brian Eno in magazines like Creem and circus. He had been a member of Roxy Music on their first album but left because of creative differences with Brian Ferry. He had a garish androgynous look that rivalled anything Bowie went with. His first two solo albums had always been favorites of mine.

I never kept up with his solo stuff and that is my loss. My favorite of these was the first one “Baby’s On Fire”. The vocal parts sounded like a Beatles/Violent Femmes mashup but the guitar parts are unique to me. Tried to equate that part to something that I was familiar with and couldn’t. Really enjoyable and different.
