Pre-ordered my brick from Comic Oasis. $100 for the pre-order. They are going to have envelopes and stamps day of so you can mail out your BibtB form immediately at the post office in the same shopping center.

Plan on selling the SRs I pull that weekend. 3-day auctions on eBay. Depending on the pull will at least make my money back, if not more. Also plan on selling the BibtB fig when I get it too. Based on the previews so far, may try to get a complete set of Rares and sell those too.

As you can tell I'm not overly impressed with this set. And I have it on good authority that the whole set is going to be a disappointment. Kinda can't wait for the mysterious Web of Spider-man set.

Is it the duo's or the dials, or the general character selection that bothers you?

I know I wanted the "real" lanterns vs the 24 hour squad.

And what else do you know that makes the set disappointing.

If you scan that picture, you'll actually find some unrevealed figs from B&B in there. Luthor/Brainiac (not the version I hoped for. :/ ) Kryptonite Man, Extant, Holiday Killer.

Also, you might notice that Flash/Green Lantern have 0 Range. 0 Range! On a 200 point figure!

Well, the 'Real' vs '24 hour squad' lanterns dont' even figure in this conversation; those are for the starter, not Brave and the Bold.

I'm with Roland on this one. I'm not a big fan of the duo figures, don't really like the Alter Ego mechanic, and generally don't like that all the SR slots and 8 of the CU slots are being wasted on rehashes of old characters instead of giving me new characters or more ingenuitive dials.

A brick should be all I need to get the CUR to play with. And I might try to get The Flashes and maaaaaybe Luthor/Brainiac (depending on Dial... I dig villains) but so far the only dial I've been interested in are the Kid Zoom and his repaint.

OH! But it seems that stores that pre-ordered enough product are getting Black Lantern special objects to give away. Keep an eye open. The object was spoiled on Facebook. It has a point cost (can only be used by your force?) "When an enemy figure comes within 2 spaces of this object, heal a friendly figure within 6 squares 1 click." Or something to that effect.

The FF starter had SI numbers and is considered part of the set. So the GL starter, if kept the same, would be considered part of B/B.

And if that isnt enough, then its relevant because I said so !

Though I think they will have their own numbering, being the first official NECA product. I guess we'll see!

I think/hope the changes to the duo mechanic will make duos better.

I predict that either they will be able ot use powers and duo attack this would basically give all duos the multi-attack ability instead of Duo.



and/or you will be able to give a duo 2 actions instead of 1 (either they will get a second token if given a second action or less likely they only get one token for the 2 actions.)

I don't see all the hate for the set, we barely know any of the figures in it. I can't say I like the supes but do we really need another chase power supes running around? This new one needs some attack help but should be nice in 400-500. Even in 300, he's no Thor, but paired with a C-plan Captain America should be pretty nasty (works out to exactly 300). Of course in the no feat tourneys it will be harder.

Yes but in that instance, FF starter came out before SI. As you well know, Balckest Night comes out after BatB.

The new Supes, for his point cost, isn't nearly as good as previous versions. I'll give you that.

But if you're able to AE him off of Clark Kent. That's like what, a 48 point Superman? THAT Superman, for the points, is awesome.
he's only using 3 clicks, but being able to hit somebody for 4 damage from 8 range. Not really something to sneeze at.

As far as TBatB goes. I'm not impressed with what's available so far. I think i's interesting that what's BEEN previewed, it seems like the set is REALLY 'anti-meta'. You have anti-LAMP, anti SIF/objects, anti HSS. I'm a bit curious to see what other 'anti' stuff they're going to crank out.

I'm a bit happy that the chases aren't anything I'd want. Black Hand is REALLY expensive as an ambiguous second-string-attacker/support piece. And Nekron seems like the next Susan Richards chase figure: There's a lot of neat stuff it brings to the table and has some potential, but at it's best. It comes off as a bit too tactical and tacky for me.

I am interested in seeing what 3D object they intend to make this time. I have yet to obtain a gold Mjolnir (which I need super badly!), but I want to try and get whatever they're going to lob at us.
