On to the story.......
Torch watched it all in slow motion. Sue blinded, Deathbird taking off and Crusher knocking his sister out of the fight.
With a surge of anger Torch was re-focused. This would be a day these villains would remember for the rest of their lives as the day they met fire incarnate.
Scott felt the heat to his right and looked at Johny to see his flame aora intensifieng and his gaze following the fleeing Deathbird. Scott found he actually had to step back a step from the heat.
Without a word Torch sped off trailing fire and directing another gust towards his chosen foe. The blast of fire wasn't actually hitting her.....it seemed to be all around her. For a moment Deathbird was pleased by thae apparent lack ot aim......
Deathbird:"What's wrong hero......upset ......that .....your.....sister...!!!!!!!!What's.......happening?"
.....suddenly she was having trouble breathing and catching her breath.
Torch was looking on with a 'cold'(well not exactly ) and unfeeling look on his face. Only after Deathbird droped to the ground did he stop releasing his fire gust..............
"Heat stroke. It's enough to take down She-Hulk. It's more than enough to take care of you."
He started to look for another target to 'vent' his anger on.
____________________________________________
As Scott saw Torch take off by himself he thought he saw some movement by one of the tables. Well Sue and Kitty were already down Scott wasn't going to let anymore friends fall today.
"Psylocke, can you...."
"On it. Go."
With that Scott tried not to burn himself while staying with Torch and keeping a......well....a visor on the movement he saw.
Betsy was somewhat impressed by the unorthadox combat these 'heroes' were having with Crusher. He was waving that napkin with a not-so-bright-look on his face, Betsy smiled........
"Didn't your mother ever tell you that if you keep making faces one day it would stay like that?"

Are we about ready to call this game? I have had a great time but this game is looking very done to me. Richard, how was running the zombies? How did you think it compared to having everyone run the Smurfs? To me it looked like the Zombies spent a lot of time sitting and looking at shoes when they could have been swarming the heroes and villains. But I think the Zombies and Smurfs ended up taking out about the same percentage of heroes. If I remember right the Smurfs took out a lackey, a couple of medics and Alfred but there were 101 of them.
I have a ton of basketball games to do for the Herolympics and will bow out of the next game. But when I get done with the events I have promised to do I do have a great idea for a scenario to run for my next game. I will be sure to e-mail you guys when I am looking for players

If there are no objections, I will put an end to the Maul of America. This is somewhat fitting being the night before Halloween! I have thoroughly enjoyed this game and with the exception of losing the map to my computer and losing oogie to personal problems, everything went fine. I had a real blast working behind the scenes on this game. The map went over well, I thought anyway and I am busy reworking it for a new trial run sometime later.
The Zombies: I felt one person running them, with help from you guys, was the way to go. Towards the end of smurfs people were getting upset with trying to find a smurf to run. The zombies just reacted. The slow reaction was their problem though. I think when I rework them I am going to allow them to be able to hurt even INV figures if they swarm them. This will list the point restrictions and allow the zombies to be more brutal and forceful. The Zombies should have moved on people more to be more of a threat. I admit that I was afraid they were too powerful when they tore into oogie and took out Man-Bat. I might have held out a bit until I tried to swarm Sue Storm, that was the game's classic moment in my eyes! If they moved independently and I set up traps they would have been more of a threat, and they should have been.
I liked the game. I hope everyone liked it.
And now . . .
This summer I played against Choonhui in a Fantastic Four game. I played the Skrulls and my partner was Doom, we ended up capturing the entire Fantastic Four. The game deserves a follow up!
I have been working with Doom's Medic on a game tentatively entitled, "Four No More!" Three teams of Heroes, Avengers, Marvel Knights and The X-Men & Alpha Flight journey to Latervia to rescue the FF. The FF are about to be executed by Doom, the Evil Heralds of Galactus/Negative Zone allies, and the Skrulls cleverly disguised as (well, I am working on that right now - maybe the JLA). Can they be freed or will Doom reign? Six Players, 500 points each, rescue the FF and they join your team, the bad guys will get re-enforcements as well. It's a knock down drag out fight in the tradition of the Mighty Marvel Crossover! Sound Fun?
I'll e-mail you all when the first thread posts with the initial details. We will also be using Mutant Mayhem so we are waiting for their stats too! Giant Man will probably be kept out this time though (things are complicated enough.
So, two things?
Any objections to calling the Maul and adding up the points to declare a winner?
Second, anybody interested in a big fight in Latervia and intruding on the main event at the Herolympics?

I'll go with the consencus. I'll go with ending the Maul, it was going to be done on Monday anyway barring several critial misses. I realy like the game. It was a lot nice-er having ALC as an ally as opposed to having him as an opponent(I still think Black Adam should have gone evil and taken out Wakandaman's civilian....but hey that's me ). Choon was a good ally to have as well.
For the zombies, I think that the zombies were similar to the smurfs in their regard to handleing damage reducers. The smurfs couldn't get through toughness an the zombies couldn't get through INV/IMP. Maybe the next time there could be some kind of a gang-up rule. Though I have to admit that having a 10 att, 2 damage on every click meant that only they were only going to need an 8(at worst) to hit anyone but the Atom, was a constant threat.
I really enjoyed that last bunch of turns with Glorfindel, move counter move I liked the strategy there. And thank you everyone for your comments for both my playing and my write-ups(I'd like to think they are still improving), I know I had fun doing both.
Hearing about the "4" scenario has already started new exitement. It looks like it's going to be yet another fun game to play. Glad it sounds like you'll be joining in again Clixhunter!
I'd like to say that I really had a good time at the Maul both participating and reading the other players posts.......shoes
Well it looks like I lucked out in this one. I'll post the wrap-up story on Tuesday when I get back to work.

I made a promise to Matt Murdock to wear his mask....I've fought this war in his place.....And I'll continue to do so.

Yep, born on halloween. Halloween doesn't mean anything to us here down under, just another exuse for you yanks to run around like turkeys.
Congrats to DM, ALC & Choon. Really kicked us evil teams hard this game. I must say I had the best of the starting locations, though I didn't realise when I selected it, but in the end I was too far away to help my fellow evil doers.
I'm very keen to play in the next match. I usually only get to play in the monthly tournament here that WakandaMan runs, if I don't Judge it myself, so these online matches are the only chance that I get to play these days.
I'm off to Fiji for 9 days on the 11th November (one of the lurks & perks of being a Travel Agent )so if the next game starts after the 20th, I'm in for sure, otherwise I'll have to give it a miss.
I have had a good time playing this game. And felt bad when outside events made it impossible to provide a descriptive post. I will be doing the Herolympics for the next couple of months so have fun with your next game. Let me know what it is and I may peek in if I have a few moments.
